There was a moment of silence. 

And that almost crushed Tiffany's hope. 

“A date? Like a… real date?” 

“Like the one you're going to right now.” Tiffany said. 

Taeyeon seemed confused. “Why would you want...to go on a date with me?” 

Tiffany closed her eyes. How blind could that omega be? “You are not losing your best friend, Stupid. I’ll just have some dumb fun tonight and then come back. We're roommates, Bright Spark. We see each other every night. There's no need for a date.” 

Tiffany shook her head, “Please, don't.” Tiffany asked, her voice in a whisper. 

“Don't what?”

“Don't meet her.” 

“Tiffany...” 

 “Cancel it. Say that you got sick or something...”

“I can't...”

“Yes, you can.” Tiffany tried harder. At the same instant, Taeyeon took the device off from her pocket, the device vibrating on her hand. 

Tiffany shook her head. 

“It's.. her.” Taeyeon revealed, showing the screen of her phone to Tiffany. 

“Taeyeon….” 

“I gotta go, okay?”

“Please, don't.” She begged. “Don't meet her.” 

Taeyeon looked at Tiffany. And it was weird to Tiffany see her eyes in that blue-gray color. “She's here, I can’t really fall back now. I gotta go, okay?” Taeyeon said, picking up her bag on the couch. Tiffany looked away, bitter by that. And as Taeyeon turned around and left the dorm, Tiffany closed her eyes, her hands clenched into fists, angrily. 

“, , , ….” Her insides burned out in anger. As instinct, her hands reached her phone, unlocking it and looking for Sunmi's number. She stared at the number and paused, thinking if it would be for the best to call the beta kin. 

Her fingers moved through her contact list and instead of Sunmi's, her fingers pressed Yuri's phone number.

“Are you okay?” Yuri asked, amused by Tiffany's behavior.  

“No.” The alpha confirmed, her heart rate still peaking high. “I'm mad jealous...”

"I'm mad jealous."

"Come on, Tiff, calm down."

"I thought... She would give me a chance."

"Did you ask her out?"

"I did, but she acted like I didn't deserve it. 'We see each other every night, Bright Spark. There's no need for a date,'" Tiffany mimicked Taeyeon's words, her frustration evident.

Yuri chuckled. "Bright Spark?"

"That's how she calls me."

"And you let her call you that?"

Tiffany shrugged. "It's just a joke. I don't really mind. We often call each other stupid, silly, and those types of names."

Yuri nodded, understanding. "She's right, though." Yuri commented, causing Tiffany to furrow her brows. "Come on, Tiff, we all know you're not the brightest bulb out there."

"I didn't come to you so you could offend me, Yuri," the tanned alpha chuckled.

"Okay, let's see from her perspective, okay? Did you ever tell her about your feelings?"

"No."

"So why would she go on a date with you?" Tiffany remained silent. "I mean, if you never told her about your feelings, how would she even know you want a chance with her?"

Tiffany continued to withhold a response.

"You see her every day and every night, and all this time you've been meeting up with Sunmi. How the hell is the girl supposed to know you want a chance? Why would she give you a chance?"

Tiffany maintained her silence.

"What do you think I should do?" Tiffany finally asked, realizing that Yuri had a point.

"Just take the opportunity and tell her everything," Yuri advised, nonchalantly. "You know, that you like her and all. Don't hide yourself from her."

"What if she starts avoiding me?"

"You're an alpha, Tiffany! Press her against the wall and make her listen!"

Tiffany frowned at the idea. "It's not the time for me to play the caste game now."

"It's not a game; it's your feelings. You can't hide them from her forever. And if you do, there's a chance she will find herself a mate that isn't you, just like she did tonight." Tiffany looked away, scratching her ear.

"I don't know what to do."

Yuri rolled her eyes. "What happened to your alpha instincts, Tiffany?"

"It's different now, okay? It's about Taeyeon."

"Taeyeon, Taeyeon, your stupid mate..."

"She's not my mate," Tiffany corrected.

"And if you do nothing, she never will be." Yuri raised her brows, prompting Tiffany to ponder what she should do.

"You don't understand," Tiffany said, shaking her head. "This could screw up our relationship."

"You guys don't have a relationship."

"You know what I mean, Yuri. And I don't want that to happen again."

"So, are you okay with just being friends with her?" Yuri asked, intrigued.

“No.” Tiffany answered honestly. “But I don’t want to risk our friendship, I fear that if I tell her everything, she will start avoiding me. Potentially even leaving the dorm.” 

“You can’t run from her forever, Tiff. You’ve got to tell her one day. Better now that is single and open to relationships than when she finally gets committed to somebody else.” 

Tiffany pondered. 

“Do you think you guys would be lovey-dovey right now if you had marked her that day? When she was suffering the symptoms of her fever heat?”. 

Something inside Tiffany was screaming no. “No.” She answered. “I think she would… hate me...” She said, reckoning Taeyeon’s feelings and thoughts. “Had I taken her that day when she was in heat and leaking… there was no chance she would even remotely stay under our roof. We wouldn’t share a ing word.” Tiffany said. “I don’t regret my actions, if that’s what you are implying.” 

“Hearing that she begged for you and you refused it is so unbelievable.”  Yuri chuckled.

“I'm not like them.” Tiffany sighed. “Like those alpha kin who take advantage of omegas and their heat. I’m not like them.” 

“As the days pass by, you become less and less like us, Tiff.” Tiffany thought that was actually a good thing. 

“What do I do, Yuri?” 

“Well, I gave my insight about it, now it's up to you. If I were you, I would tell her about my feelings.” 

“I don’t know. I want to tell her everything yet it doesn’t seem like it is the right time for it. Should I even have the right to disturb her new found advent
