All the times I imagined Chaeyoung kissing someone, I always thought that person would be me. As I stand there watching the girl I've fallen so hard for, kiss another person, someone I couldn't help but feel inferior to, all I could think was

"Of course."

Of course Chaeyoung chose Mina over me. She's beautiful, really nice, and a wonderful dancer. I couldn't compare to her. It makes sense that this happened, and yet...and yet why are there tears falling down my face?

"Tzuyu! Oh my god!"

Dahyun screams out, like it's the end of the world. She grabs me and takes me to a bathroom not too far. She grabs some paper towel and wipes my tears as they fall.

"Dahyun...why?"

"Why what Tzuyu? What are you thinking about?"

"Why did she do this? She said she needed time, and I gave her that."

"I don't know Tzuyu... I'm sorry I wish I could help you, but I just don't know."

"She couldn't even give me a straight answer? Why did I have to find out this way?"

I was broken. I was just so hurt. This hurt more than anything I've ever felt before. But, I couldn't let anything out. I had to get a hold on myself. I had to power through today.

"Do you want me to call your mom to pick you up?"

"No I don't want to explain why I'm like this."

"Well let's ditch! It's only the first day of school no one will care."

"No I don't want to do that. I'll be fine, I can pull through today. I'll have to do it eventually."

"Tzuyu you're stronger than you realize."

"Thanks Dahyun."

RRIIIIIINNGG

I try to pull myself together and get up.

"What's our first class?"

"Oh science! You love science! That should make you feel better!"

I get a little excited. Just a little.

"Yeah you're right, hopefully."

Dahyun and I walk to class and as we walk in, I hear someone call my name.

"Tzuyu! Hey!"

It was Chaeyoung, and sitting right next to her is Mina. Dahyun pulls me aside.

"Tzuyu I'm so sorry, I didn't know we were in the same class as them."

I take a deep breath.

"You have nothing to be sorry for, let's just sit down."

I walk straight to a desk and sit down.

"Tzuyu!"

Chaeyoung is still calling out my name. It takes all my strength to turn around and force out a smile.

"How can she just wave like she didn't do anything wrong?"

"Dahyun stop. I don't want to deal with it right now."

I couldn't focus on what the teacher was saying at all. What was supposed to be a class that made me feel better, turned into an hour of never ending misery. I could hear Chaeyoung and Mina giggling and whispering in each other's ears. I glance behind me and they're holding hands. When was this class going to be over?
