That quote was true for the both of us. 

We were masters at lying to one another, cursing each others name in spit to put us to shame, whispering harsh words knowing it was only causing the gap between us to rift farther and farther apart, but when it came to the words never said it was precisely the opposite. When our throats grew hoarse or our tongues got tied we just stared at each other letting the silence dictact how we felt.
