A Bit of Magic
The Golden QuillJungkook's favorite coffee shop was situated on the ground floor of the Club. The prestigious club for Seoul's business elites was the perfect hiding spot because no one ever bothered him here. The Club had a strict code of conduct and patrons tended to stick to themselves unless invited to socialize. He ordered tea and sat in a cozy corner and checked his emails on his laptop. Then he put his headphones on and listened to his favorite track of the moment. It was a young composer and violinist. All he knew about the musician was that he attended the Arts Institute where Kim Taehyung’s mother was a patron and board member. There was no more information and it frustrated him. It had been a long time since he had been so captivated by a piece of music. Last night, he had fallen asleep with the track on repeat.
His tea arrived and he nodded his thanks, concentrating on replying to a mail from his company. Their new schedule was out and he was excited about a weekend team building. It would be nice to get out of the city and do something different. Besides their comeback was approaching and there was a lot to do.
“What are you listening to?”
He glanced up and was surprised to find the girl, his stalker serving him. “What are you doing here?” he demanded softly, “you cannot be here, this is private property…”
“I work here now,” Kang Hwayoung smiled broadly as she pointed to her uniform, “see?”
“I do see,” Jungkook shook his head, “agassi you go too far. Is this how much you want to see me?”
“I admit that I took the job for you. I know you come here a lot and I thought we could see more of each other. Besides you didn’t call me.”
Was this girl for real? Had she really expected him to call? Well he had saved her number and from time to time thought of her, but he could never call. He was too embarrassed about the other day when she found him delirious by the side of the road. Jungkook would rather forget that happened and seeing her again brought it all back.
“So what are you listening to?” she nodded toward his headphones. “Can I also listen?”
“No,” he snatched his phone from the table.
“Secretive,” she looked back to the counter where the manager was eyeing her suspiciously, “duty calls but if you wait around, I get off in a couple of hours.”
“Why would I do that?”
“Because I have a surprise for you,” she said enigmatically and waltzed off.
Jungkook could only shake his head but after that, he couldn’t help but watch Kang Hwayoung. She was not a bad waitress. Had she really taken this job to be close to him? He hoped he didn’t have to find a new spot to hang out in. He really liked the club, but this girl was a serious stalker. He finished off his second cup of tea and packed up his belongings. He had a schedule in the evening and wanted to rest up before he needed to head out again.
“Good, you waited.” Hwayoung was just coming out of the staff entrance at the side of the building. “I thought you would leave.”
Jungkook opened and closed his mouth; he didn’t know what to say in the face of her enthusiasm.
“Jungkook ssi will you be heading home?” his driver approached.
“No,” Hwayoung grabbed his arm and pulled him toward the car, “we have something else to go.” She gave his driver the address and Jungkook nodded that he consented before the driver opened the door for them.
“Wow, this is a great car. Like you see in the movies with the divider between the
