Chapter 12
Strings of Fate~A/N: I'm sorry I took forever with this update. I'm back from my trip (have been for a while). My laptop was destroyed on the trip though and I got it back about three days ago. So I'll try to update regularly from now on (every two weeks most likely on the weekend), but I get frequent writer's block so don't hate me if I'm late on the updates! Anywho, hope you enjoy!

“Why didn’t you call me yesterday to tell me this?” His mother asked through the phone sounding upset.
“I didn’t want to worry you, mom. You’ve got grandma to think about. Besides Jihyun takes care of me well enough. I really don’t need some stranger to come and take care of me.” Jimin said in reply as he picked up a tissue and wiped his runny nose. It was around twelve in the afternoon, Jihyun was at school and the house was empty. Jimin had stayed home again because he was still coughing, had a runny nose, and slight temperature, but otherwise, he was much better. He figured he’d be able to return to school tomorrow.
“Mrs. Lee isn’t a stranger though, you’ve known her since you were a toddler.” His mom argued.
“She’s only come over for parties and to babysit like three times mom. I know her but at the same time I don’t.”
“...But I still feel uncomfortable that no one is home to take care of you. Maybe I should just come home now.”
“No mom, you’re coming back the day after tomorrow anyway. I’ll be fine, trust me. I’m doing much better.”
“Are you sure? You hardly ever get sick so I tend to worry more when you do get sick.” She said her voice filled with regret for not being able to be there for Jimin.
“Yes, I’m sure Mom. You know I’m always honest with you. If I felt like I needed someone to look after me I’d have told you. Don’t worry about me and Jihyun, we’re both doing well and miss you guys. By the way, how is dad doing?” Jimin asked trying to change the topic.
“He’s holding up...he was very sad when he saw your grandma but now he’s occupying his time with taking care of your grandpa, who’s doing fine as well so don’t worry.” Mrs. Park said knowing her son would ask about his grandpa.
“Hmm, that’s good. Has grandma shown any signs of improvement?” Jimin asked.
“No...she’s still in a coma...and the doctors here have already done all that they can to treat her.” She answered with a sigh.
“I see...she’ll get better, we just have to hold onto hope,” Jimin said in reassurance.
“Yeah…” came the short and tired reply. Jimin could tell his mom was emotionally and probably physically drained from all that was going on.
“You’re still letting us go see her during the weekend right?” Jimin asked.
“Yes of course. Friday right after school. I’ll be coming with you guys though instead of you two taking a bus, I managed to get leave from work again.” She answered.
“Alright,” Jimin said nodding though he knew she couldn’t see him.
“Well, I should go now. M
