-Chapter 9-
Monday rolled around and everyone gathers together at lunch as usual, except for Yoongi. Jimin had seen Jin talking with Yoongi that morning and so he’d been eagerly looking forward to lunch in hopes that he’d be able to learn more about what was going on with the red head. However, Jin refused to speak to them about anything related to Yoongi.
“Why won’t you tell us what you talked with him about this morning?” Taehyung asked with a pout. He, more than anyone else, was dying for an explanation to Yoongi’s sudden behavior change. Taehyung had finally realized that whatever was going on with Yoongi had to do with more than just their fight because it wasn’t like Yoongi to go this long ignoring him.
“I can’t tell you. Just let it be.” Jin said, his lips pressed into a thin line.
“Hyung? You said you’d talk to him and get him to join us at lunch again...were you not able to convince him?” Namjoon asked looking at Jin with concerned eyes.
“...I wasn’t. Now, will you all just drop it? If Yoongi doesn’t want to hang out with us anymore, we have no right to force him to.” Jin said sternly, but it was evident to everyone at the table that saying those words pained their eldest hyung.
Jimin wondered if maybe the two had ended up arguing? In all of Jimin’s years of knowing the two, they’d never once been unable to convince each other to do something. Everyone in their group (prior to Jungkook and Hoseok joining) knew that if you wanted something done by Yoongi and you also know it’s unlikely he’d agree, you’d go to Jin and get him on your side first because there was literally nothing Jin couldn’t convince Yoongi to do. The same was true for Yoongi if you wanted something from Jin that you knew he’d be reluctant to agree with you go to Yoongi and convince him first. It’s just how their relationship worked, they always manage to bring out the best in each other.
So it was strange for Jin to say he wasn’t able to convince Yoongi to join them for lunch. Jimin was sure that was a lie. It was more likely that Jin hadn’t tried that hard. But why wouldn’t he? Had Yoongi said something that was bad enough for Jin to just walk away from the other? Was there some sort of fight going on between them that the rest hadn’t been made aware of yet? Jimin had many questions but hardly any answers.
“Jimin hyung?” Jungkook whispered in a low voice so that the others, who were still talking with Jin and trying to get the eldest to talk, didn’t hear. Jimin turned so he was facing the younger, and gave him a questioning look.
“What is it?” Jimin asked, also whispering.
“When I went to the restroom right before lunch, I saw Yoongi hyung...” Jungkook started but paused as he began to reconsider his words. Jungkook wasn’t sure if he should tell Jimin what he saw.
“And?” Jimin prompted, curious on what t
