“What about this cake?” Yoona ran her pen over her page. Yuri looked over the desk and nodded.

“Seohyun would love that,” she beamed. “But what about the whole princess thing?” she asked. Yoona hummed and pondered.

“Why don’t we get Jessica? She’s basically sleeping beauty,” she giggled. Yuri sighed and rolled her eyes.

“Yoona, I said it before. We’re not going to get your girlfriend to dress up,” she exhaled. Yoona pouted.

“But Seohyun loves Jessica! She’s basically a family friend,” she explained, pursing her lips. After Yuri tapped her fingers and digested her comment, she eventually caved in.

“Fine, fine. But no PDA. This is a kids party. Okay?” her younger sister saluted jokingly, causing her to chuckle a little. “Maybe we should invite Taeny. They can perform a heartwarming performance, right?”

“I guess so…” she tapped her chin. “But then we also have to invite Hyoyeon and Sooyoung right?”

“--then Sunny…” she trailed off. “I just realised that we’re going to invite more of our friends than hers.”

“Our friends, her friends,” she gestured reassurance. “It’ll be fine. We’ll invite a ton of her friends. Wouldn’t it be nice to invite a few family friends? It’s like nostalgia.”

“I guess you’re right,” she shrugged.

After much discussion over the table, the two had organised their little sister’s party. It was much easier said than done. It consisted of angry phone calls, frustration, but overall happiness, when the day had come.

“How far is it?” the youngest sister tried to squirm out of Yuri’s touch.

“A little further,” her palms were covering her eyes and Yoona was leading her by the hand towards the backyard. “Okay you can look now.”

She opened her eyes to see a backyard pool, filled with her friends. She gasped and squealed.

“Happy birthday!”

She began to jump up and down before dashing towards her sisters and hugging them tightly. She repeated “thank you” over and over as she kicked her legs up.

“You should thank Sunny because it’s her house,” they eyed the red-headed girl, who waved brightly.

“But! But! You made all of this! It looks so good! And fun! And! And!” she embraced them again and laughed. “Thank you!”

“No worries,” Yuri patted her back. “Now go have some fun with your friends.”

Yoona ran her fingers through her hair as the girl ran off and joined a larger group of her friends. Yuri and Yoona even shared an embrace, mostly to let out their relief of stress.

“I’m so glad this is over…” Yuri sighed. She looked over towards Taeyeon and Tiffany, who were by a boombox on the other side of the pool. They handed over a microphone over to Seohyun, who took it excitedly. Switching on a song, they all began to sing playfully, Tiffany’s head resting against Taeyeon’s shoulder as Seohyun swung her clasped hands back and forth.

“Me too…” Yoona watched Jessica slowly sneak through the front gate. They exchanged winks as she adjusted her blonde wig, brushed down her long dress and straightened her back. She strolled over to them grandly, waving elegantly which excited all the other girls.

“Do you think we did alright?” they parted to view Seohyun cuddling up against Jessica.

“A lot better than alright. We did amazingly.”
