It's Not Fin.e

Description

Fine.

It took one word for it all to end. That marked the end of a secret love story that nobody (except their group members) knew of. To Taeyeon, kid leader of the national girl group, the word is a scar that - though she has yet to come to terms to admitting - it haunts her till this day.

And perhaps it takes more than another breakup - or moreso a publicly confirmed ex-boyfriend - to confront her that she has perhaps been held back from moving on. Her heart was elsewhere. How could she give possibly give him her heart when it was stolen by him

The (forcibly) sunken memories re-emerge at her loneliest moments and they are of nothing but of him, what they used to be, them. together. It composes her day to day and she is unable to escape the pain.

Is it really fine afterall?

Foreword

This ficlet was inspired by Taeyeon's amazing song 'Fine'. I am absolutely in love with it. BUt throughout listening I feel an undescribable sensation of sadness, and pain. And ever since 11:11, I've been wondering whether it could've been a message to someone special.

Taeyeon's ideal type has always been someone childish - not too childish - but is charming at the same time. That's Wooyoung isn't it? His sense of humour is unbeatable sometimes. I always believed (well hoped and wished from the bottom of my heart) they were something. And when the news Baekhyun and Taeyeon dating was released back in 2014, of course i was sad, but i had a sense of frustration as well. Baekhyun always seemed like the Wooyoung of Exo (to me at least). But Wooyoung's way of humous if funnier and of course he's mroe mature. So when it was confirmed, i immediately thought that WOOTAE must've been. MUST have. So when 11:11 and Fine was released i was inspired enough to write this piece. I miss them sooo much

I have yet to finish it, so please be patient.

This is my first Wootae fanfic by itself (other than a childish piece i wrote before). It is a very angsty one. I hope you find it as an alright piece despite my lacking writing skills (sorry).

Thank you very much

Chapter 1: Wow this is really great... I love how you interpret the song. Can you write one for "what do I call you now" as well? Also what's the incident of 11:11?

I saw how they interacted in DCM festival 2016, and it seemed like Wooyoung was teasing her as usual and she was playfully smacking his back. Honestly they suite each other.

And when I read this I remembered Wooyoung's solo tour in Japan, he chose to sing "Congratulations" by day 6, in which he was so emotional singing it like frustrated and all. He nearly cried. It was so good though and it's actually the same time as "Fine" released.

Wooyoung has 39 on his stuff sometimes, it was also there on the solo stage. Well it means thank you in japanese but it's also Taecyeon's bday...

Chapter 1: Hi there. I just found your story here and I like it...it seemed somehow feels real? Hehe I wish WooTae can be real too...but not in 'angst' way. Thanks for the story :)

Chapter 1: That took a while...
But hmmm interesting take on the recent haps.
I was never convinced of that whole Baekyeon thing. First of all, they look like twins—siblings. And the timing was just too coincidental when SM was suffering a massive backlash from all the EXO/Jessica-pulling out ordeal.

It was as if Taeyeon was used as an escapegoat; a distraction to prevent their main source of income (EXO) at that time, knowing that Taeyeon and dating will be a big deal for the entire nation.

It was just too fishy for me hence I was never that convinced of these two.

Wootae on the other hand though was just palpable from the very beginning. Their chemistry is unmistakeable.

Hi. It's been a while since I last read a wootae fanfic since they haven't been close around each other anymore, thus the ship seems to die down. I'm supporting you and this story. As for baekyeon I never took them seriously and never thought Baekhyun should be someone Taeyeon could rely on. I'm wondering how this story will turn out to be.

I'm interested in reading your story. Wootae was my first aff couple that I rooted for over half a decade. It just that not many authors updated their work hence the feels died but I'm rather glad there are people who are still rooting for them. I pretty much have a hunch that they had something going on years ago but things got in the way...especially when Taeyeon was at her most fragile state with all the hate she's been getting along with still establishing SNSD's place in the Kpop industry. I don't know what the backstory is, but for their friendship to just suddenly die down like that is simply suspicious.

It's even more so with that whole Baekyeon thingy that just came out of nowhere. For them to be caught in such a compromising and rather obvious situation (in her car with her hood down under a streetlight)...isn't it rather fishy? That something like that was released in the media when EXO was undergoing some difficulties with Kris' disbandment etc.?

Personally, it seems as if the company took advantage of Taeyeon's popularity and used her as an escapegoat or rather a bait to shift the focus off SM's mistreatment (or whatever they've been doing to their artists) towards their artists to someone else...but that move was rather stupid.

Stupid because their reputation was preserved in expense of Taeyeon being hated on big time.
It's rather extremely selfish of them to do that and it hurts my heart that Taeyeonie didn't have much strength and courage then to stand up for herself since she was still a rising star compared to how she is now.

I don't know. This is my interpretation slash observation over the course of years.
Does it make sense though?
