The technician loosened the nuts on the gas pipe but kept it tight enough to prevent the gas from leaking out. Pulling a small device from his tool bag, he looped the wires around the joint of the pipe and secured it to the timer. Checking the time on his watch, he started the timer on its three hour count down and moved to the lights above. He removed the fluorescent tube and pulled out the wires from inside the fixture. Exposing the tips of the wires, he positioned them close to each other so that a spark can be created when current flows through. The job was done and he packed his tools before leaving the building.
