A peaceful moon shone down on the port city of Daeyang, a relatively small town south of Seoul that prided itself in its unbeatable ocean view and gorgeous sandy beaches lining the outskirts of the city- as well as the expansive gambling community that had sprung up as a result. Most of the town was comparatively sleepy and charming, and possessed an overall atmosphere of contentedness. It was this city that Haneul called home, on a quaint little street in the suburbs, where she lived out her miserable existence. Far on the other side of town, the stretch of casinos was a favorited haunt of ruffians like mobsters and common criminals as well as shifty gambling addicts. Unbeknownst to Daeyang’s residents, however, the misfortune that seeped from the place also attracted another kind of haunt- demons, supernatural beings from the dark pits of Hell that thrived on the souls of the unfortunate. Naturally, they disguised themselves as humans and stalked their prey expertly, picking off the drunken hordes and miscreants that the backstreets of Daeyang gave rise to. Baro was one such demon, an arrogant and low-ranking creature who prowled the neon-lit streets for easy prey. Under normal circumstances, it would be unlikely that the pair would ever meet, but one fateful event twisted the lines of destiny and entwined the pair in a passionate story that shook the foundations of Heaven and Hell itself.
