Exo Fanfics for Beginners is most suitable to readers who are new to fandom or new to fanfictions, who is in need of getting around the basics of fanfics, or more commonly known as classics. I repeat not only classics are here in this list, but also there will be other well-known and well-loved ones, that would attract and attach a beginner to the whole fanfiction world. They are already read and reread by thousands and thousands of exo and non-exo fans complimented even more and mentioned even in daily life speaking among fans. For an example if you are an exo fanfic reader with the bases covered and you don’t want to feel left out in general fanfic spazzing you would have to know, what a Zodiac style ending means, what a 48 Hour means, so and so. Of course you can be a seasoned reader without reading none of the classics. But you’d eventually wonder what they are since they come up in every talk forum about fanfics, and in other platforms too. Most people get to know about the idea of fanfics through these classics and other well-known fics out there.

So here I am to your rescue, and I’ll try my best to help you out in this whole big world that is called fanfiction J

First of all about me: I have been an exo fanfic reader for 3+ years and it has been 2+ years since I discovered this lovely site AFF. Well, all I did for these years was obviously reading and reading hundreds of exo fanfics in different sites, majority here in AFF.

I’m also a fan myself, so I may be slightly biased towards some fics since there are no any standards as to how you categorize a fic under the so called ‘classic’ title, but I try really hard to remain unbiased, so don’t worry. Seriously there’s no any specific rules or criteria to separate classics. They are purely based on fanfic readers’ categorizing. While there are some which are considered classics undeniably around everywhere some may change from readers’ perspective. So at the end of the day this is purely my opinion and some are suggested by my fellow readers.

There are some things I want to point out first:

• Most Importantly- Almost all the authors have their own preferences regarding their fics and kindly respect those. Don’t plagiarize, don’t re-upload or translate them anywhere without their consent. Just, don’t be a mean reader to the writers, respect them, because they put in so much effort and time to write those pieces.

•  Some really good classics are taken down or closed off for several reasons and no longer available for reading but still I want to mention them since they got me into this whole new world and I want to pay gratitude. <3

• So far I haven’t put any restrictions here other than the ‘no heavy or pwp’ one. If there’s mature content here and there I’ll put the [M] tag accordingly.For deleted or taken down fics I would put a [D]. So in conclusion you can find OTPs, mpregs, genderbenders, wolfAUs, familyAUs literary anything under the sun J

• If you think I have missed out on a fic that needs to be in the list kindly comment it with a link or send me a PM. But I would like to stress, just because you recommend it I can’t assure that it would go in the list, since I have to feel like it is a good read for a beginner.

• You can find the masterlist in the next chapter which I will update every time I add a fic to the list and a brief summary for each fic in the following chapters.

• Finally if you’re done reading most of the fics here, then congratz. Go explore on your own. There is a whole big world waiting for you there a.k.a exo fanfics. If you need a guide on more reads that are fairly less popular to the ones mentioned here but no less in quality, I would like to suggest Exo Fanfic Gems of Korekrypta. It is such a great list and she’s a great writer too. Keep in mind the list is strictly idol*OC.
