Kiss

Anew

It was the beginning of May when weather finally started to warm up, although it was much too late for Jongin's taste. But he still had to be grateful that it was nice out for once, because today was his and Taemin's one month anniversary, and while he in no way wanted to make a big deal out of it, he figured they should at least do something nice for it.

Though somehow, it seemed that without his knowing, Taemin had already gone ahead and planned out their entire day. They were still out of work, as the coffee shop hadn't reopened yet, and in order to make sure they didn't go broke while they were jobless, Taemin had ended up selling his car, it wasn't like they used it anyway. Jongin was currently in the process of job-hunting, and Taemin was holding out for whenever the coffee shop reopened. But until they had a stable source of income, they were on a stricter budget than usual, which neither one enjoyed, but knew was necessary. It made sense, then, that Jongin couldn't help but to be a bit worried that Taemin had gone over their budget when he told Jongin that he'd planned out something 'really good', but Taemin had said he'd barely spent any money, so Jongin would just have to trust him on that.

"So what are we doing?" He slipped his hand into Taemin's, pressing close to the boy's side as they walked down the street.

"That's a secret," Taemin's eyes glinted mischievously, a playful smile gracing his full lips. Jongin couldn't help but to smile back. Taemin led him through the busy city, easily weaving through the crowds cluttering the sidewalks. He came to a stop in front of a large building which Jongin immediately recognized as the local art museum.

"I remember you saying you wanted to go here, so-"

"-I can't believe you remembered that," Jongin cut him off, laughing. "You're really the best, you know that?"

Taemin blushed, glancing shyly up at Jongin.

"I think the last time I came here was right after I moved into the city, and that was six years ago," Jongin said, more to himself than to Taemin. "I can't believe it's been so long."

"Well then let's go in, you can show me around, if you remember where everything is, of course."

Jongin nodded, starting towards the line for entry with a bounce to his step. Taemin followed behind, fingers still entwined with Jongin's. Fortunately, the line wasn't incredibly long, and they were soon inside. Jongin felt like a little kid again, bubbling with excitement, gushing to Taemin about how they had to see this piece or that exhibit. Taemin listened to him with obvious interest, eyes bright and attentive. It was such a new thing for Jongin, having someone actually pay attention to him while he went off about art, instead of just ignoring him or half paying attention, that he had trouble stopping himself from talking. He knew he should, though, he didn't want to bore Taemin.

"I'm sorry, you're probably so bored right now. I just really like art..."

Taemin shook his head emphatically.

"No, no, I'm not bored, don't stop."

"It's okay, you're probably tired of hearing me go on and on, I get it." Jongin shrugged. Taemin stopped walking, making Jongin turn to face him. His dark eyes were sincere, a slight frown across his face.

"I don't want you to stop, though. I'll admit, I don't understand a lot of what you're talking about, but I like listening to you. Plus, you're so cute when you talk about something you're passionate about," Taemin smiled. "I think this is the most I've ever seen you talk. I like it, please don't stop now."

How could Jongin say no? Taemin just called him cute, damnit. He glanced down at their entangled hands, then back up at Taemin's earnest expression.

"If you say so..." He was hesitant at first, but was quickly back to how he was before, happily lost in the world of art.

"I want to try to cook..."

Taemin's voice sounded from just outside the kitchen. They'd returned from the museum about a half hour ago, and Jongin was just starting to make dinner. He turned from where he was ruffling through a cabinet to give his boyfriend an incredulous look.

"You? Cook? I never thought I would hear such a thing even leave your mouth," he laughed. Taemin flushed.

"Really though, I want to try. Are you going to class today?"

"I don't know yet, why?"

"Aren't your finals, like, next week?"

"Yeah..."

"So you should go. And if you let me cook dinner, you can get some of your homework done before you go, because I know you haven't done any of it yet." Taemin stepped into the small space, already at Jongin's side. Jongin laughed.

"Taemin, you can barely cut an apple, how do you expect to make an entire meal?"

"I'll figure it out," Jongin raised an eyebrow at the boy. "...somehow."

"I'd rather not burn down the kitchen right now, sorry."

"Please, Jongin. You should finish at least some of your work, and I really want to try this." Taemin sidled closer to Jongin, arms circling his waist. Jongin let go of the cabinet door, gently running his hand through Taemin's hair.

"Who said I was going to class, though?"

"You're not?"

"Nope."

"But your finals are next week!"

"I know." Jongin shrugged nonchalantly.

"You're crazy, you know you have to do well on those!"

"True, but missing one day can't hurt that much, can it?"

"I wouldn't know, I've never been to college. But yeah, probably. You should really go..."

"Oh well." Jongin's hand slid down, cupping Taemin's cheek, lifting his chin so that their eyes met.

"But Jongin, you-"

Jongin closed what little space remained between them, pressing his lips to Taemin's. He smiled into the kiss as he heard the other give a quiet gasp against his lips, quickly kissing back. He pulled away after a few seconds, opening his eyes. Taemin seemed to have melted against him, going limp in his grasp.

"You just-" His eyes were wide, expression shocked. "You..."

"I know. I'm sorry it took me this long to do it, too. You're a good kisser." Jongin smirked. "Anyway, I've already decided I'm not going to class tonight."

Taemin nodded as best he could, as Jongin's hand was still on his cheek. Jongin quickly dropped his hand, letting it rest on the small of Taemin's back. Jongin had to admit, it was cute seeing the boy all flustered and surprised like this.

"If you fail your finals and have to retake your last year, it's not my fault," Taemin finally said, shaking his head. "Now, how about I at least help you cook?"

Jongin just couldn't say no.

A/N

Hi! Sorry I missed a week again, I've just been so so so so busy and I haven't really had the time to write :( But hopefully I'll be less busy now, so I can actually get these chapters out on time :/

Anyways, I'm hoping the next chapter will be out tomorrow, but I can't guarentee anything, sorry again. :((

Hope you like this chapter, though! It's another short but sweet one, haha. Don't get too used to fluff though, I've got much more in store for them ;)

((Also, not that I'm necessarily going to include it, but I've been toying with the idea a little, how do you guys feel about ??))

Big thanks to all my subscribers and commenters, you're seriously the best <3 <3
