JUNO : A BTS Military Story
Ara and the team were ready within a matter of minutes. As they helped load the briefcases of money into the truck, they felt the cold night coming on. Ara put her earpiece in and checked her gun for ammo as Jungkook and Jimin finished loading the cases and helping the negotiator into the truck. Her mind and heart were racing as usual before missions. The familiar feeling of adrenaline made her feel jittery and awake. She nearly jumped as she realized Namjoon was standing next to her, reporting the mission into the log on his tablet.
“Don’t worry, Ara. We’ll be back before you know it,” he said, not looking up from the keyboard.
“I never said I was worried,” she shot.
He looked at her, his eyes reflecting the moonlight. “You don’t need to. I can feel your tension from here,” he said. He flashed a small smile. “I know you a lot more than you think I do.”
She shrugged.
“Ready,” Jungkook said as he walked over.
Namjoon nodded. He grumbled with annoyance as he looked at his watch. “Where’s Seokjin when you need him?”
“Here!” the said man shouted as he ran up. He was a handsome man with broad shoulders that supported his backpack, full of medical supplies. “Sorry, Cap. Had to take care of some foot blisters the soldiers brought back today while patrolling.”
“Fine,” the captain said bluntly. “Just get in the truck.”
The team slowly boarded the truck through the back. Ara found herself in between Jungkook and Jimin while Namjoon and Seokjin sat across from them. She felt her breath hitch and her heart skip a beat as the truck lurched forward, making its way down the dusty path towards the destination.
“You seem quiet today,” Ara said to Jimin. “What’s on your mind, Jimin?”
“I’m always pretty much this way,” he said. “There’s nothing that’s bothering me, Lieutenant.”
She nodded slowly before smiling. “You can always talk to me if you want. I’m always here for you.”
He mustered a small smile. “Thanks, Ara.”
“Quiet from here on out in case they intercept our systems,” Namjoon said. “Activate night vision.” He brought his hand to his glasses and pressed a button on the frame, causing the lenses to glow green before fading. “Captain Kim Namjoon to HQ. Enemy territory in five metres. Preparing to negotiator and package to meeting spot.”
Their radios buzzed. “Team Bangtan, you are approved for engagement. Proceed.”
The truck came to a slow stop. The doors were kicked open, Namjoon and Jungkook stepping out calmly, observing their surroundings. They motioned for the negotiator to come out. The man did so, but with a frightened expression, contrasting his cool and reserved complexion before the mission commenced. He grasped onto the two briefcases and began to walk towards the warehouse. Ar
