“This is our friend, Minhyuk.” Yoongi presented the blonde man.

“Nice to meet you.” I smiled, politely.

“It would be weird if you simply show up alone and fine in your house. Thus, we called him. He’ll go with you to the police station and act as if he found you alone in the road. He’ll explain that he has been taking care of you until now. This version of the story will make you disappearance more credible.” I nodded.

“Thank you for helping.”

“There’s no problem. I’ll be waiting for you outside.” He bid his goodbye to everyone and walked out of the house.

“I was starting to get used to have you around.” Ara pouted and hugged me.

“Me too. It reminded me of the old times. I should be sadder than you.” I joked just to hide my sadness.

“That’s not fair. Can’t you stay longer?”

“She has her family too, Ara.” Hoseok patted her head and she let go of me, still pouting.

“I know, but we are more important.” She complained as a baby and Hoseok laughed slightly.

“We’ll be seeing each other tomorrow, Ara. I promise to come.” I said, hiding my sadness.

“I agree with Ara.” Jungkook, too, was acting like a child. “We are the youngest. We are a trio. We can’t be a trio without you.” Ara agreed and I could feel that I’m going to tear up at any moment.

“Guys, you’re making it harder for her to leave. I bet she would stay longer if she could.” Yoongi said, comforting me with a hug. He must be feeling my sadness.

“It’s just that it felt so natural to have her by our side all day.” Jimin declared, sad.

“I promise to try to come more often.” Small tears started falling though I was smiling.

“No, Mina. We are sorry. It must be harder for you than for us.” Jungkook hugged me and I hugged back. We parted and he wiped my tears away.

“That’s it. We will go to your greenhouse later.” Jimin decided.

“I would love it.”

“We’ll be there, then.” Hoseok came closer and kissed my forehead. “You’ll always be welcome here.”

“I know. That’s my house too.” I dared to assume.

“You can be sure about that.” Namjoon smiled.

“I’ll accompany you outside.” I waved at everyone and went outside with Yoongi.  We stopped in front of the car.

“See you later,” I whispered and kissed him shortly.

‘Is it wrong that I want to take you back inside and never let you go?’ He asked, staring intensely at me.

‘No. That’s completely fine. I would actually feel hurt if you don’t.’ We laughed and he connected our foreheads.

‘I’m going to miss having you by my side all the time.’

‘Me too.’ I coughed.

“I hope you get better. I hope you haven’t caught a cold.” He said, worried because I had been coughing since yesterday. “Bye.” He kissed me.

I got in the car and Minhyuk drove away from the house that was clearly my home. He didn’t start a conversation as I had expected, and I didn’t have the intention to start one too. Thus, the way to the police station was silent, yet comfortable. I took a deep breath when we arrived. I wished they were with me to make easier.

‘You can do it.’ I heard their voice in my head and nodded, though they couldn’t see it. I got out and followed Minhyuk.

I remained quiet the whole time, playing the victim who was scared and traumatised which I was a bit, to be honest. They called my family because their presence would make it easier for me to talk about what happened according to the police officer in charge. He was talking to Minhyuk and got interrupted by my cough. I just couldn’t stop. Another police officer brought me a glass of water to ease the irritation in my throat.

“You don’t seem fine.” The woman said and touched my forehead. She frowned worriedly.

“I think you have fever.” She announced. I suddenly felt tired.

“MINA.” Someone yelled my name, causing me a headache. I got suddenly hugged tightly and heard someone crying.

“You’re fine. You’re back.” I recognised Annick’s voice and smiled.

“You won’t get rid of me so easily.” She moved away and looked at me seriously.

“It’s not the time to joke. I was so worried and afraid that I wouldn’t see you again.” She hugged me again.

“I have never felt more relieved than when we got that phone call.” My father hugged me as tightly as Annick had. For the first time ever since we had met again, it felt right to be hugging my father.

“I’m sorry to interrupt you, but we need your daughter’s testimony. You’ll be free to go after.”

“We are here now. You can tell them everything.” My father put his hand on my back, trying to transmit security. I told them a plausible story that matched everything and answered their questions. When they felt satisfied with the information I’d provided them, they let us go. My father and sister thanked Minhyuk for taking care of me. Annick wouldn’t let go of my hand and I sort of appreciated that my sister was scared to lose me. When we arrived, Hanna, Vicky and Jaebeom were waiting for us. Vicky ran towards me and I took her in my arms.

“I missed you, Mina. It was boring without you here. How was your trip?” I looked briefly at Annick and smiled at her.

“It went well.” I lied, just like everyone had done in order to spare her.

“I’m glad you’re alright.” Hanna smiled sincerely at me.

“Me too.” I couldn’t hide the animosity I had gained towards Jaebeom since our last encounter a few days ago.

“Yoongi, Jaebeom is in front of our house,” Jungkook informed. “And he doesn’t seem quite happy.” Yoongi sighed.

“Stay here, Mina.” I held his hand tighter.

“No,” I whispered, looking at his silhouette. “He’s going to hurt you.”

“He will, but he’ll take you away from me if I don’t go. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.” He kissed my forehead and I let go of his hand reluctantly. He left the room with Jungkook and I approached the window. I forced my hearing to get shaper.

“I heard you killed my brother.” Jaebeom’s voice was surprisingly calm.

“He hurt my mate. I couldn’t just let it slide.” Yoongi defended himself. It was silent for a few seconds. Suddenly something fell to the ground and someone coughed. I inhaled deeply and I smelled Yoongi’s blood.

“Why did you kill him? Couldn’t you let the Ancestors deal with him? Do you know how angry it makes me know that he died in your hands?” I tried to go down as fast as possible when they started fighting. It would be much easier if I could see. Someone held my hand when I was about to go out.

“You shouldn’t,” Jungkook said.

“I can’t let Jaebeom hurt him. Please.” I begged and he let go. I went out quickly and tried to use my other senses to locate them, but they were too fast.

“Jaebeom, stop,” I said to where I assumed they were fighting.

“Mina
