“Yoongi will be proud of your grades,” Jungkook whispered to me and I blushed slightly. My grades were all above 80 and I couldn't be more proud of myself. I knew I could have got higher grades, but my current state of mind wasn’t as good for me to invest all my energies on the study and I was more worried about my problems than my grades. I had had to change my routine to study well for the test. I had discovered that I would mesmerize the subjects better at night. Thus I would take a long nap from the afternoon to the evening and then I would start being productive. ”I’m also proud.” He ruffled my hair. I was aware that he wanted to make me feel loved by them and I was thankful that he was trying to have a better relationship with me.

“I’m also proud of you. I know that you have good grades because of your vampiric side, but you took at least the time to read the notes.” I smiled.

“Thank you.”

“Class, today we’ll do an experience. We’ll see how magnesium reacts with fire.” At the word fire, my muscles became tense and I held back my breath for a few seconds.

“I have to get out of here,” I whispered, knowing what was going to happen if I stayed.

“Why?” I heard the sound of the Bunsen burner is and I stuck my nails which were slowly turning into claws on Jungkook’s arm. He let out a small pain wail and tried to get rid of them, but I wouldn’t let go.

“Mina, you’re hurting me.” I heard Jungkook’s words, but I wouldn’t acknowledge them. I would like that he could see my plead for help in my eyes, but the blue flame was already having an effect on me.

‘Don’t look, Mina! Don’t look!’ Rose ordered, but it was too late. The teacher had already turned the blue flame into an orange one and that was when everything broke down. Rose was trying really hard to stop those images from popping up in my mind, but they were passing like a movie in my mind and I started screaming. I knew that it was an illusion, but it didn’t stop my body from reacting like it had done the last time. I could feel the flames burning me from the inside as if I was mostly made of gasoline, not water. Each cell of my body was aching and begging for the pain to stop. The flames seemed like catfishes that wanted to rip out my flesh to satiate their hunger.

’IT’S NOT REAL, MINA! IT’S NOT REAL!’ I managed to hear Rose shout, but my brain didn’t want to believe her words. The pain was too real for my brain to believe her. 

“MINA!” I felt two hands on my shoulder and I managed to focus on Jungkook’s face. His eyes were a mix of confusion and worry, but mostly sad because he knew. He knew that I was reacting to a bad memory of when we were together.

“Get me out of here,” I begged in a whisper. Jungkook got up and took me in his arms. Without saying a word, he took me out of the classroom. He must have noticed that I was having some trouble breathing because he took me to the garden despite the cold and sat down on a bank underneath branches of a tree. A cold breeze hit my face and my body started to relax. The feeling of being on fire was still there and the cold air was helping to make me feel better.

Jungkook stayed by my side in silence, waiting for me to completely calm down in order to make his questions. I looked at him and saw him scratching his neck. I analyzed his facial expression and he wasn’t doing it because he was nervous, but because it was a habit. What was making me stare at him intensely was because of the spot where he was scratching.

“Do you know what this symbol means by chance?” Namjoon had shown my scribbles notebook. The symbol was about a half moon which seemed to be merging with the sun.

“Where have you seen this symbol?”Jackson had asked while analyzing the scribbles. Despite his serious tone, his eyes were showing surprise and fascination.

“Jungkook and Taehyung have it on their necks. It simply popped up.” I’d answered.

“It symbolizes the soulmates’ bound.”

“That doesn’t make any sense. I have met several vampires that were mated to werewolves and none of them had that symbol on their necks.” Namjoon had said.

“Those couples aren’t soulmates. They are just creatures who are together until their true soulmates appear. Taehyung’s and Jungkook’s bound is different from those of other werewolves. If vampires don’t turn their soulmates into vampires too or give them the ability of live longer by giving them their blood, their soulmates will eventually die, but it will reincarnate in another body. The Great One who has made all supernatural creatures didn’t want the vampires who are immortal to have a solitary life. Thus it made the reincarnation of their soulmates possible. Werewolves aren’t immortal contrary to vampires.  Our life expectancy is clearly longer than that of humans, but we will eventually die. We don’t reborn and our mates too. Taehyung is a werewolf and Jungkook is a vampire. It isn’t the first time that those species get involved and hybrids are the proof of it. However, there was never the case of a werewolf and a vampire being true soulmates. Werewolves mark their mates with a bite, but vampire’s blood is lethal to us. This symbol represents the eternity of a wolf. Taehyung is the first of our species to be immortal. We won’t age anymore.”

“Jungkook and Taehyung are soulmates?”  Namjoon and I had asked at the same time. We couldn’t just believe what we had just heard.

“Isn’t that why you came to see?” We had denied with our heads. “Don’t they know that they’re soulmates?” Once again the answer had been negative.

“The marks showed up when Jungkook died to save Taehyung’s life.”

“Are you feeling well, Jungkook?”

“I should be the one asking you that.” He replied.

“You seem anxious.”

“I’m not.” He remained in silence, looking for the right words to explain himself. “It’s just that I ever since have found out that we have known each other for a long time, my inner vampire has been a little restless.

‘Poor Jungkook. He thinks that it is about you when it is his inner vampire longing for his other half.’ Rose said, sad.

“I understand you.” I smi
