Foreword
An Open Letter to my Lover
The very first time we ever met, you told me you would only have words to speak to me when it was a matter of business. You told me that you didn’t care about my personal life, or how my fiance was or if I was getting paid enough to support a family or not. You told me you only wanted to know if I was doing my job and doing it right. And for a long time- so long- you stuck by that rule. Strictly business is what you called it. Until you seen the busted lip and the sprained wrist and you uttered the simplest words to me: What happened? And it wasn’t about work, it wasn’t about why I didn’t bring you coffee to your office like I routinely did each morning; it was about me. It was about something that had happened to me in my home. I’ll never forget your first question, or your first gentle touch, or your first loving kiss, but I’ll also never forget your last.
Oh Sehun is a rich, business tycoon with a variety of workers, many of them tending to be jealous and unhappy either with their working lives. Mr. Kim is one of those many workers but is soon-to-be married to a beautiful, young woman by the name of Sohee Cho. Sohee, in need of money and a place to stay, agrees to marry Mr. Kim on a limb when he offers up the money he claims to have earned from hard work, but Sohee comes to find her fiance is laundering money from one of the most powerful men in Korea.
When Mr. Kim hastens their wedding day at the notice of Sohee’s discontent with the relationship, he suggests she get a job under Sehun to make laundering easier and for more money to be flowing into their home. What Sohee doesn’t expect is to become not only a person assistant of Oh Sehun, but to become his closest confidant and his secret lover.
With time, Sohee learned Sehun is not just the arrogant tycoon he portrays to the public, but he is so much more.
