A cool breeze rushed through your window, sending shivers down your spine as snow flurries began to fall on the bare streets of the quiet city. You shifted slightly, craving the warmth of your crisp, white covers. After a month of mild weather, winter had finally arrived, and you had been waiting impatiently for it. With Christmas only two days away, you started to worry that the ground would remain bare once again, leaving a bittersweet feeling in your gut. To you, Christmas wasn't Christmas without snow, and it had been years since you had seen the ground painted white before the holiday. When the snow had begun to fall last night, you couldn't contain your excitement. You rushed to grab your phone, taking pictures of the snow falling to send to all of your friends. You received just as much excitement back in their responses, which amplified your own. Everyone was so much happier and kinder around Christmas, and you couldn't wait to spend the holidays in a warm house with the ones you loved, sharing stories and giving gifts to those who had influenced your life so much. As you thought about it, a smile crept onto your lips and you your side, lightly pulling the covers up over your shoulder. Before you could slip back into a wintery dreamland, your eyes settled on the phone sitting on your nightstand. The LED notification light was flashing, indicating that someone was trying to get a hold of you. 

I wonder who that could be...

With a sly smirk, you sat up and picked up your phone. You typed in the password, already anticipating what the screen was about to display next.

4 Unread Messages

Your heart fluttered as you read the first message. Seeing his name on your screen regularly had this an effect on you, and looking through all of the sweet messages he left you always made the blood rush to your cheeks. You knew he was busy with practices and promotions, so receiving messages from him in between those things really made you feel special. Just knowing he thought of you during stressful times brought warmness to your heart. You scanned through all of the messages, your smile becoming broader after carefully reading each one.

From: Hakyeonnie

9:01 A.M: Good morning princess. ^^

9:17 A.M: Did you sleep well? You're staying warm right?! It's so cold today! Stay indoors love!

10:29 A.M: Baby... are you still asleep? It snowed so much last night! You have to get up and see all of it! I know how much you love it!

11:03 A.M: Angel, please wake up... we've finished practicing for the day, and you owe me a shopping date! If you aren't awake by the time I finish getting ready, I'll come over there! Don't think I won't! Love you~

You giggled as you read the last message. As intimidating as your boyfriend tried to be, you knew he could never bring himself to truly be angry with you. 

This dork, you thought, he always tries to win me over with his abundance of pet names. 

With a happy sigh, you pulled your covers back and slowly slid out of your bed, standing into a long stretch. You shuffled over to the large window of your room and pulled the dark curtains back, only to be half blinded by the reflection of the midday sun on the freshly fallen snow. As soon as your eyes had a chance to adjust, you beamed from ear to ear. Hakyeon was right; it had snowed a lot throughout the night. You turned back around to your now-lit room, searching for the clock.

12:04 P.M.

Thankful that you had thought to shower the night before, you began to get ready. The scent of vanilla wafted off of your skin as you slid into a large knitted sweater and some tight-fitting jeans. You ran your fingers through your hair - which had fallen in waves this morning - and continued on with your daily makeup routine.

Just as you went to grab your bag, there was a knock at your door. Abandoning your train of thought, you rushed over to it and placed a hand on the handle before leaning against it and teasingly saying,

"Who is it?~"

You heard a familiar guffaw from behind the door, followed by a deep voice replying in a sarcastic tone,

"It's your neighbour from down the hall." 

You slowly opened the door with a playfully confused look on your face, only to be greeted by your boyfriend. Hakyeon was standing with his hands buried in the pockets of his loose black leather jacket, which was left open to reveal the white pullover he was wearing underneath it. A black beanie covered his head just enough to keep him warm, but not enough to hide the array of dark brown locks that swept across his forehead. You looked him up and down from the pom-pom on the top of his hat to his pale blue jeans and, eventually, down to his black sneakers. 

"I'm sorry, I don't know you." 

With an impish smirk, he bowed and apologized, immediately turning to walk away from your doorstep. You quickly bolted out of the doorway and grabbed him from behind, wrapping your arms around his torso and exclaiming, 

"Hakyeon, wait! I'm sorry! Come back!" 

He let out a laugh before turning around and hugging you back, giving you a small kiss on your forehead. His voice became softer as he spoke,

"It took you long enough, darling. Have you been sleeping all day? Are you still up for Christmas shopping?"

You nodded firmly, walking back into your apartment to pick up your long-forgotten bag. Throwing it over your shoulder, you turned back around to see Hakyeon standing in the middle of the dorm looking around. 

"You don't have any Christmas decorations set up yet?" he said as you walked over to him, noticing the pout that had formed on his lips. 

"That's why we're going shopping today, love," you replied reassuringly, "Oh, and... maybe you could help me set them up later?"

Hakyeon's face lit up as he smiled down at you, nodding affirmingly at your suggestion. You grabbed his hand and led him out of the door of your dorm, ready to begin your busy day with your boyfriend.

It wasn't long until you had acquired a few shopping bags, mostly containing decorations and small gifts for coworkers. 

"Have you decided what you're going to get the boys for Christmas yet?" you asked Hakyeon, receiving a slight head shake from him. 

"I think Taekwoon said something about a cooking item," he thought aloud, "and Jaehwannie might have mentioned candy. Lots of it. Wonshikkie... maybe a hat? Hongbin might want something for a game, or I could just get the same thing for him and Hyuk. They have similar interests... I think." 

You raised an eyebrow at him as you two walked past a group of loud teenagers. 

"You've lived with those guys for how many years now? They haven't mentioned anything that they would want for Christmas?" 

Hakyeon shook his head, shrugging his shoulders when you gave him a look of disbelief. 

"What do you want for Christmas? Huh, babe?" he said as he nudged your arm and smiled like a little kid, adding a slight spring to his step. 

"I have all that I want for Christmas, silly," you replied, "I don't need anything but the snow and to spend the day with the people I love."

Hakyeon rolled his eyes and let out a scoff.

"Boring! There has to be something you've been wishing for. It's been an entire year!" 

You giggled at your whiney boyfriend, stopping your stroll and turning to face him. 

"You should be thinking about your members," you poked his chest as you spoke, "and we'll worry about me later, okay?" 

Hakyeon pouted, but he obliged anyway. You really couldn't think of anything you would want for Christmas; you just knew you wanted to spend it with him. You two had been together for almost three years now, and he always insisted on getting you the best gifts for your birthday or Christmas. He even tried to convince you that everyone receives gifts for Easter and Halloween, attempting to persuade you into letting him buy you more materialistic items. You knew he just wanted you to be happy and have things that you wanted, but you were just as happy having him in your life.

After a long day of wracking Hakyeon's brain, you both had finally finished your Christmas shopping for the members of VIXX. With both of your arms filled with shopping bags, you made your way back to Hakyeon's car. You were glad that shopping with him was so easy. Regardless of him being an idol, the news of you two being together had been out for so long now that it didn't affect your everyday routines. Fans would occassionally come up to him, but they were always just as excited to see you and wish you both well. You smiled a little when he started up the car, and decided to take this moment to admire him. He was beaming as he saw two little kids run past the car, chasing each other into the mall. He had completely forgotten about pestering you about a Christmas present, which gave you more time to enjoy spending the day with him.

The drive home was mostly quiet as you two admired the city covered in snow and hummed softly to the Christmas tunes on the radio. When you finally arrived, Hakyeon helped you unload all of the bags from the back of the car and you both carried them up to your dorm. You walked in and carefully set the bags down. It wasn't long until you were both sitting at your table, searching through bags and dividing up the gifts that each of you were going to give to the special people in your life. As you admired an interesting wisk that Hakyeon had bought for Leo (apparently Leo wouldn't shut up about it, and told Hakyeon that if he didn't get it for Christmas, he would be very disappointed), Hakyeon's hands fell to the table with his mouth agape. With a confused look, you placed the wisk down and turned towards him. 

"Is there a problem, babe?" 

"I still don't know what to get you for Christmas!" he exclaimed, which caused a chuckle to rise out of you. 

"Darling, I already told you. I really don't need anything for Christmas. Just spend the day with me! Let's spend the day with VIXX too! We're all away from our families."

Hakyeon's brow furrowed as he continued to pout. He looked ridiculous, which just made you explode into a fit of laughter. 

"Seriously, love. It's okay." 

This made him smile a little, but you could tell he was still frustrated. You weren't sure what to get him for Christmas either. You were hoping that he would drop some hints while shopping today. While you two looked around, you were constantly lingering over him, asking him if he thought certain things were nice. He always shrugged. He really was stubborn sometimes. 

With a final giggle, you kissed his lips and slightly pulled back to see his initial pout disappear completely. You smiled warmly, grabbing his hand. 

"I really just want you. I always have, through all of the holidays." 

You noticed him blush slightly as he smiled and kissed you again. 

"Okay," he said, "but I'm still going to try my hardest to get an answer out of you."

When you woke on Christmas day, you felt your heart skip a beat. You scrambled around your dorm, getting ready to spend Christmas with the VIXX members. You opened your curtains and were greeted by big, white flurries falling from the sky. You instantly squealed with joy as you ran to your bathroom to take a warm shower. You finished getting dressed and dashed out the front door, heating up your car and taking off towards your boyfriend's dorm.

When you arrived at the VIXX dorm, you were greeted by Ken throwing his arms around you and the other members cheering at your arrival. You smiled brightly as you looked around, taking in the atmosphere. Being around the boys always felt comforting. Your eyes scanned the dorm, eventually falling on the huge Christmas tree that was set up in the corner. You raised a brow and looked at Leo. He simply replied with your boyfriend's name, and you giggled. The boys were all wearing Santa hats and reindeer horns, and you could feel the delight emanating off of them. Gazing around, you realized something was missing.

"Where's Hakyeon?" you asked, still admiring the Christmas decorations. 

Ravi's head popped out of the dog pile that the boys had started to form, and said,

"He's just getting ready, he'll be out in a moment."

You nodded in understanding. Looking back at Leo, you grinned as you saw him shaking his head at the boys. 

"Need any help with dinner?"

After everyone had eaten, you helped clear the table and then sat with everyone near the tree. You watched as all of the members opened their gifts from each other, and laughed when Leo's face lit up at the wisk that Hakyeon was so persistant on buying. In this moment, you were truly happy. It wasn't long until they all crowded around you, throwing presents your way. You laughed and pushed them away. 

"Guys! You didn't have to get me anything!" 

"We know, ______," Hyuk said, 

"But we all wanted to get you something you'd like!" finished Hongbin. 

You laughed and opened each gift carefully. Most of them contained a lot of chocolate or candy canes, but each member made sure to get you something small that they knew would mean a lot to you. 

You smiled warmly after opening all of the gifts. Giving all of them a huge hug, you said,

"Thank you, guys. I love all of you so much." 

Their group hug tightened as they laughed and cheered. Suddenly, Ken spoke up. 

"There's one more gift!" he practically yelled, slightly nudging Hakyeon. You hadn't noticed but Hakyeon's facial expression had completely changed. He went from being a bundle of joy to looking very nervous. 

"I told you not to get me anything!" you said, lightly tapping his knee. 

"Technically, you didn't receive a present from me," he joked, "not yet at least." 

You raised an eyebrow at him as the other members started to smirk and shift in their spots. 

"What do you mean?"

Reaching for your hand, Hakyeon led you to stand up and follow him. You suddenly found yourself in the dimly lit hallway of the dorm. You heard the other members talking outside, but you weren't able to make out what they said. All of your focus was on Hakyeon. 

"I've wanted to give you one of these before" he whispered, "but I didn't want you to feel pressured." 

Your heart began to race as your grip on his hand tightened. He noticed this and smiled warmly, pulling you in for a hug. As he pulled away, he raised a finger between the two of you, signalling you to stay where you were. He walked into his room, and when he emerged, he was carrying a small gift box. It was neatly wrapped and fit in the palm of your hand. You stared at it for a moment before you heard him speak again.

"Open it." 

Nervously, you undid the ribbon on the top of the box. After getting through all of the initial packaging, you gasped.

Inside the small box, there was a ring. It was simple, but elegant. It was enough to say that you two were promised to each other, but you weren't planning anything big. You smiled up at your boyfriend and saw his cheeks flush light pink. 

"Hakyeon..." you began. You were left completely speechless. 

He shushed you and his eyes drifted up to above where you two were standing. You let out a small laugh as you saw the mistletoe hanging in a random spot on the ceiling. 

"I wonder how that got there", you said, a hint of amusement in your voice. 

"Not sure," Hakyeon replied, "but I think there's some kind of tradition that goes with it." 

You noticed the smug expression on his face and laughed again, lacing your arms around his neck. You pulled him in for a deep kiss and thanked him, giving him a tight hug. 

"Merry Christmas, darling," he said quietly. 

"Merry Christmas, my love," you replied, holding him for a few seconds longer before the VIXX members interrupted your moment with a plethora of "oohs" and whistles.
