It was a weekend day. Donghae finally agreed to hang out with his best friend, Eunhyuk, after rejecting him for many times already. They decided to watch the latest movie together and now Donghae was getting ready dressing up for the meeting. As he was almost ready, suddenly his phone rang. He immediately picked up the call after knowing that Eunhyuk was the caller.

“Donghae ah, I’m sorry. I think I can’t go...” Eunhyuk said.

Donghae frowned. “Why? What happened?” he asked in worry.

“Nothing happened. It's just...I forgot that today I’ve a date with my girlfriend. Maybe next time?”

“Are you getting your revenge on me or what?” Donghae inquired upon hearing his last sentence regarding how he always declined Eunhyuk’s invitation with the same words.

“No. Nope. I really mean it. I really can’t go. I’m so sorry,” Eunhyuk said guiltily.

Donghae sighed. “But I’ve bought the tickets though.”

“I know. I’m so sorry,” Eunhyuk kept apologizing, couldn’t help but feel guilty for promising his friend something that he couldn’t fulfil. But then suddenly an idea popped in his mind. “Wait...I think you still can go even without me.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, you know...your fake girlfriend. You can ask her to accompany you,”

Donghae could see his friend’s gummy smile through his voice. He fell silent.

“What do you think?” Eunhyuk asked when Donghae remained silent.

Still, there was no reply.

“Yah, are you blushing right now? Or you fainted because of my awesome idea?” Eunhyuk teased.

“What are you talking about?” Donghae finally responded, a slight frown creeping on his face. “I was just...thinking,” he tried to explain why he was silent earlier.

“You mean, thinking of her?” Eunhyuk teased again.

“What’s wrong with you? Why are you always teasing me with her?” Donghae said, sounded more like complaining.

“Well, because I like to,” Eunhyuk snickered. He was obviously having fun teasing his friend.

Donghae scoffed. “She’s not my taste.”

“I never ask.”

Donghae scoffed once again. “I’m just indirectly telling you not to tease me with her anymore,” he said defensively.

“As if I care,” Eunhyuk casually replied, amusement enveloping his voice.

Donghae huffed. “Enough. I’m hanging up,” he said moodily. He heard the latter sniggering before he hanged up the call. Placing his phone on the table in front of him, he was contemplating on whether he should ask Hana to accompany him for the movie or not like what Eunhyuk had suggested. If he didn’t, then the movie tickets that he’d bought would be a waste.

After contemplating for a little while more, he decided to take Eunhyuk’s suggestion. Besides he was ready dressed up. If he didn’t go, it would be a waste of his perfume that he had sprayed all over his body earlier.

Hana, who was sitting at the bar stool nearby the kitchen counter, thoughtfully contemplated on what she should cook for lunch today. That was until she noticed Donghae sitting across her at the kitchen counter, looking at her with a raised eyebrow.

“What are you thinking about?” he asked, tilting his head slightly to the side.

“Nothing. I was just thinking what I should cook for our lunch today,” she answered.

“You don’t need to cook lunch today,” he said.

“Why?” she asked in confusion but then she noticed the way he’d dressed up. “You’re going somewhere after this?”

“We are going somewhere after this,” he replied with a smirk. Unlike Eunhyuk’s suggestion, he wasn’t asking her to accompany him. He was ordering her to accompany him.

“We? Me and you?” she moved her index finger back and forth towards both her and him. Donghae nodded. “Why? Do I have to pretend to be your girlfriend again?”

“Not really. I just want you to accompany me to watch a movie since my friend has something to do today. Would you like to?”

“Sure,” she grinned. “I’ll get ready now!” she stood up and was about to walk away when Donghae suddenly stopped her with a “Wait!”.

“Make sure you wear one of the dresses I bought for you not long ago,” he instructed, in case they would meet his elite friends or something.

“Alright, boss,” she playfully saluted and giggled as she skipped away to her room. She was that happy as she finally could get out of the house and inhale the air outside.

Donghae couldn’t help but smile at her antics. But wait...why did he suddenly feel excited? He frowned as he realized it. Clearing his throat as if it would brush the feeling away, he distracted himself by fiddling with his phone.

“What movie are we going to watch?” Hana asked as they walked side by side heading to the movie theatre. As they walked, their hands occasionally brushed lightly against each other and everytime it happened, Donghae felt a weird indescribable feelings in which he was so fast to brush it off. She was wearing a pink casual dress meanwhile Donghae was wearing a simple blue t-shirt with jeans.

“A horror movie,” he briefly answered.

“WHAT?” she looked at him wide-eyed in horror.

Donghae raised an eyebrow at her before a playful smirk etched on his lips. “Why? You’re scared?”

“N-No! I’m not!” she enthusiastically denied though deep inside, it was the opposite of it.

“Yeah right? Then why did you look so shocked?”

“D-Did I?” she tried to play innocent and Donghae chuckled at that.

“If you’re scared, just say you’re scared,” he playfully poked her cheek, causing a tint of light pink to climb up on her cheeks.

“I’m not scared,” she mumbled and looked away in denial.

Donghae snickered. “We’ll see when we get there,” he smirked and Hana merely pouted as a response.

After buying a large box of popcorn that they decided to share it together, they went into the dimly lit movie theatre and searched for their seats. Once they found it, they took a seat on it. Their seats were a pair of seats located in the middle of the middle row. Almost all the seats in the theatre were taken as the movie just newly came out.

Even before the movie started, Hana already stiffened in her seat. Donghae who noticed that held back his laughter.

“Here,” he offered her the popcorn box that he held and she took a few popcorn from the box and got it inside , chewing it slowly while nervously eyeing the big screen that displayed some commercial about a camera.

“Are you scared already?” he asked, an amused smile playing on his lips.

“Aniyo,” she quickly denied.

“Alright~” An amused smile still attached on his lips even after his eyes averted to the big screen which started displaying the movie. In the first half of an hour, there was no really horrifying scene yet so they could still eat popcorn casually. But later on, that type of scene came out almost non-stop and that made Hana freeze in her seat, the popcorn in was forgotten as she would close either her eyes or her ears whenever it was necessary.

Unlike her, Donghae calmly watched the movie without even flinching even though a scary scene appeared on the giant screen. He occasionally could hear Hana’s loud gasps and yelps among other people in the theatre. And he couldn’t stop a small smile from forming on his lips every time he heard it as he fought back the urge from laughing out loud.

As he got more into the movie, suddenly he felt a hand on his arm which was resting on the armrest of the seat he sat. He glanced at it and found that it was Hana’s hand which was trying to find something to rely on as her eyes looked at the screen terrifiedly. Didn’t know what came over him, he removed her hand from his arm and took her hand in his, squeezing it reassuringly. His unexpected action made her flinch a little as she quickly whipped her head around towards him and her heart beat faster once her gaze landed on their intertwined hands. After a while, her eyes found his back to see he was looking at her with a small smile before he diverted his attention back to the big screen.

And ever since then, she couldn’t pay attention to the movie anymore but the feeling of having her hand in his. It wasn’t the first time he held her hand since he had always held her hand every time they were pretending to be a couple.
