Eighteen years ago, Jieun Song and Kris Wu had a one-night-stand. Not knowing that she was pregnant with a hybrid baby, she was caught by the dark witches and kept in captive until she gave birth to her baby. As soon as the baby was successfully delivered out of her womb, Jieun was killed by one of the most powerful dark witches known as Makaila. Sensing that his mother was in danger, the baby had demonstrated his early ability in using his power as he set Makaila on fire, killing her instantly. As Jieun died while still having her hybrid baby’s blood in her system, she was magically brought back to life following her transition into a hybrid. She relentlessly fought all the dark witches up to the point where the Ascendants (the good superior witches) decided to protect and give her a chance to live with her son.

But she was given two rules:

First, she has to give her life up once her son turns into an adult.

Second, she cannot in any way contact the son’s father while he is being protected by the magic.

Jieun Song is an Alpha of the Crescent Moon Clan. 19 years ago, she lost her parents to a war between the werewolves and the vampires. Most of the elders had sacrificed themselves so their children can live. Her parents were the werewolf royalty, which made her a Queen to her pack. She had to drink a single drop of her son's blood to finish her transition to become a hybrid. Despite all the trouble and pain she had gone through her pregnancy, she loved her son dearly and would do anything to protect him. As she died and turned into a hybrid at 26 years old, she forever stays that age. She has a younger brother.

Kris Wu is the original and the most fearsome hybrid that ever lived. His mother was a witch, who had an affair with a werewolf. His step father hated and abused him as soon as he found out. At the time, their village was also being attacked by werewolves and to protect her children, his mother had turned all of them into vampires by using dark magic. He spited his parents, especially his step-father who he once looked up as a father, for what he had become.

Wooseok Song is the son of Jieun Song and Kris Wu. He is the world's first pureblood tribrid; he was born as werewolf, vampire and witch (paternal side). No one knows the exact limit of his power, but due to his strong bond to his mother, despite being a newborn baby back in the time, he was able to save and bring her back to life. It was deciphered that he will stop aging at 18, when he will come of age.

Makaila Cohen is one of the dark witches who killed Jieun, and killed by baby Wooseok. Lilah Cohen is Makaila’s younger sister. Both are the descendants of the Cohen witches.

Victoria Wu is Kris’ older half-sister. An original vampire, as well as a witch. Though it was forbidden, she still practices her magic after she was turned.

Han Wu is Kris’ older half-brother. An original vampire.

Gayoon Heo is Jieun's best friend.

Hongseok Song is Jieun's younger brother.
