Yonghwa decided to ignore the words of the old Seohyun to keep a firm distance and wanted to rekindle their friendship that had been running dead slowly but surely due to the pressures of being an idol. 

He knew that Taeyeon and Leeteuk publically announced their relationship and strangely enough they got a lot of support so he hoped that he could just openly be friends with Seohyun. Yoona and Jonghyun didn't even bother to cover up their friendship and neither did Minhyuk and Yuri so why did he have to walk on eggshells? He and Seohyun were virtually married once and when she traveled to the future she had seen they were married with a little girl but those memories were locked now and her sisters and himself were the only ones who remembered what she told them.
