1.) a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner.

Welcome to the soulmate writing contest, where the main focus revolves around soulmates! It doesn’t matter if “soulmates” are not directly stated in your story. For example, if you write a story where the main characters immediately click after their first meeting--we’ll consider that as soulmates. Or, you could create an alternative universe where soulmates are stated clearly. You can check some of those alternative universes out over on the “Inspirations” page. (I highly recommend checking the inspirations page out.) Remember, your story doesn’t necessarily have to be centered around romance: if you check out the definition, you can write a platonic friendship story if you want.  

*btw, don't let the layout fool you. you can always submit fluff or comedy stories too :D
 

RULES

1. Subscribe.

2. Fill out the entry form correctly.

3. Finish the story by the deadlines or else you’ll be disqualified.

4. No plagiarism.

5. The password is your favorite song.

6. Make a blogpost promoting this contest along with a link back to the page.

7. Please also put a link your foreword that leads back to the contest.

8. Notify us once your entry is completed.

9. If you use an idea from the tumblr page we linked, PLEASE CREDIT THE TUMBLR PAGE IF YOU'RE PLANNING TO USE THE IDEAS DIRECTLY (the ideas aren't ours so yeah)

10. Subscribers only, Members only are allowed.

11. Idolxoc, idolxidol, y.aoi, and yuri are allowed.

12. Anything rated M is NOT allowed (intense violence, blood and gore, s.exual content, etc). Mild cussing is allowed!

Deadline: December 17th 2016 and June 30th 2017 (see update #2 for details)

FAQ

Q: Is there a maximum/minimum word count or a chapter limit?

A: if it’s a one-shot, the minimum is 1,000. however, if you’re planning a chaptered story, just keep it under 35 chapters.

Q: how are you guys judging the entries?

A: there’s no official judging criteria. if your story gives us a great lasting impression, you’re good.

Q: can we use older stories?

A: yes, just make sure that your story has something to do with soulmates.

Q: how many entries can you submit?

A: as many as you want! although, only one of your entries can claim the top 4 spots.
