Emi Haro POV
I had to park my car directly in the parking lot. There were a lot of people (fans and media) at the lobby waiting for my arrival.
“Director Hana is not speaking, Sajangnim.” Ari whispered.
I nodded. I knew Hana was going to kill me once she laid her eyes on me.
I arrived at the meeting room. My whole PR team was there. Hana was smiling. “Sajangnim, the media, the fans, everyone is loving your relationship with Mr. Kim Soo Hyunssi. Should we call keyEast and make a joint statement?” She was ecstatic.
I was dumbfounded. “What official statement? We’re good friends, we meet once in a while, but we’re not dating.”
Everyone was stunned. It was almost like I’ve told a group of children that Santa Claus doesn’t exist.
Hana asked everyone to leave the meeting room. Once we were alone she asked: “Can I be honest with you, Sajangnim?”
“Of course.” I replied.
She pulled a chair next to mine and sat down. “You’ve asked me several times what can we do to accelerate Dramafy’s expansion and recovery. I told you to promote our brand through appearing in high profile events. You did that for a while but you stopped attending them. Will you please listen to me this time?”
I stared at her but didn’t say anything.
“Kim Soo Hyunssi is korea’s Top bachelor. Well, G-Dragonssi once held that title for many years, but now that he’s dating Samsung’s group daughter, the title was passed onto Kim Soo Hyunssi…”
“Wow! Someone punching me directly in the face would hurt less than hearing this.” I thought.
She continued: “…You dating Kim Soo Hyunssi will definitely help Dramafy achieve stardom not only here in Korea but all over Asia. If we make an official statement about the two of you dating, you’ll only have to stay in Korea three more months.”
Her proposal sounded interesting. But I couldn’t do that to Soo Hyun; it’ll be using him to fulfill my purpose: leave Korea and never look back.
All day long I kept thinking in Hana’s proposal. I can’t shake this thought of my head. I’m so desperate to leave Korea that I’m actually considering it. I really don’t want to see Ji Yong again, for I know if I do, we’ll end like we usually do… having . I know for sure I’ll never be able to resist him.
After I arrived home, I walked to Soo Hyun’s apartament. I sighed deeply and rang the doorbell.
Soo Hyun opened the door and rapidly pulled me inside. “What are you doing here?” He asked. He was worried.
My heart started racing. I slightly smiled and said: “I need to talk to you.”
Kim Soo Hyun POV
The next day after Emi and I went to the tteokbokki restaurant, Yong Joon and Taehyun arrived at my apartment.
Taehyun woke me up and showed me the articles about Emi and I.
“Is it messy?” I asked. I didn’t plan any of this, so I wasn’t sure how the public was taking it.
“It’s not messy at all. Your fans are begging for an official statement confirming your relationship with CEO Haro, our company’s stock rose 13%.”
I sighed relieved. I walked out of the room and saw Yong Joon hyung standing in the balcony. I stood next to him.
“Is this your doing?” Yong Joon asked.
“No. I didn’t notice they were following us.” I looked down.
“Are you finally dating her?”
“Not yet.” I replied.
“I see. So we can’t make an official statement… yet. Your fans took this so well that they’ll be completely happy once we confirm your relationship with CEO Haro.” Yong Joon said, amazed.
“I’ll be more happy than anyone on earth when that happens. But I need to wait for her to be ready.” I know Emi still loves G. I also know she likes me a lot, but she hasn’t figured out her feelings for me. It’s just a matter of time before everything aligns.
“Did CEO Haro had a relationship with Ji Yong? Is that why you guys had a war?” Yong Joon looked at me. I nodded. “In part yes. But he and I have never been close. We had some issues since before Emi appeared in our lives.”
Yong Joon stared at me, waiting for me to tell him more about my issues with G-Dragon. I didn’t say anything else.
“Did you stop the attacks?”
“I did.” I answered.
He patted my shoulder.
I didn’t want to stop. He messed with my image, that’s something I couldn’t let go easily. I’ve been very careful with how I’m seeing by the public. He thinks I play a role of a happy and kind man. I don’t play it, that’s how I really am. I’m just really careful of not creating scandals while living a low profile life.
I do admit that I feel less stressed after we stopped attacking each other. Then suddenly it hit me. “Wait! He’ll see these articles about Emi and I.” Just the thought of annoying him through this made me smile. I know he’s in Japan right now, so he probably hasn’t heard about the articles that were published.
“Are you this dark?” Yong Joon walked inside the living area.
I was confused. “What do you mean?” I followed him.
“I can read your mind Soo Hyunie.” He said while smiling. “Does it give you joy to think that Ji Yong will hate the attention that CEO Haro and you are getting?”
He was right; I was enjoying this too much. “You’re not a bad or a mean boy Soo Hyunah! Beware of where your feelings are taking you.” He warned me before leaving.
Today I didn’t have any schedules, so I just stayed home. I kept thinking how could I make Emi realized her feelings towards me. I didn’t want to rush her, but I didn’t want to wait any longer.
Before I realized, it was night already. As I was in the kitchen drinking some water I heard the doorbell. I ran to the intercom and saw Emi standing outside. I was shocked. I quickly run to the entrance and pulled her in.
“This is totally reckless.” I thought.
“What are you doing here?” I asked.
She smiled. “I need to talk to you.”
She was looking more beautiful than usual. She was wearing a little pink dress. I didn’t know what to think. This is the first time she comes to my apartment. What would be so important that she would come here.
We entered the living room; she awkwardly sat on the couch. I was still standing up. “Do you want something to drink?” I softly asked.
“Water please.” She whispered and looked down.
“She’s acting weird.” I thought.
I walked to the kitchen got a bottled water from the refrigerator. I could feel my heart racing as I walked towards her. As I handed the bottled water to her, our hands touched. I flinched.
I sat on the other couch. “So, what’s up?”
She didn’t look at me. She doubted a couple of times before she started talking. “Would you ever consider dating me for…”
“Dating?! Did she just ask me to date her?” I was freaking out. I stared at her with a shock expression on my face.
She raised her head; we locked eyes. She started waving her hands. “…It’s nothing serious. What I meant to say is, would you date me as a stunt publicity?”
My hopes went crashing to the ground. This obviously wasn’t what I wanted. For the first time in years I felt like needed to drink until I passed out.
I wasn’t mad, but I didn’t think before speaking: “Why I would jeopardize my career and my image just for a stunt publicity?”
She looked at me. She was mad; she stood up. “You’re right, it was stupid of me to mention it.” She started walking towards the door. I ran after her and grabbed her arm; I pulled her towards me.
“Are you sure that’s the only reason why you want to date me?” I whispered.
She was staring at my lips; I was staring at her eyes.
My heart was racing. I placed my hand on her waist and the other on her cheek, as I was about to kiss her, someone opened the door. She quickly pulled out of my arms. I sighed deeply and looked at the door. It was Taehyun; he was obviously shocked.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know CEO Haro would be here.” He was shocked.
I smirked. I looked at Emi; she was shyly looking at the floor with both of her arms on her back.
“Let’s have a drink.” I said to Emi.
“You don’t drink.” She was dumbfounded.
“We both don’t drink, but I think tonight we should.” I grabbed her hand and pulled her to the door. “Taehyun will take care of us.”
We arrived at Meca. We entered a private Karaoke room.
“What would you like to drink?” The waiter asked.
“Would you like wine or scotch?” She asked me.
“Please bring wine and vodka.”
“Isn’t vodka too strong?” She was staring at me with eyes wide-opened.
“I need something strong.” I smiled.
Minutes later after we started singing, the alcohol arrived. I served Emi a glass of wine and I drank directly from the bottle of vodka. It’s been awhile since I drink this.
“Waaahhh! It’s really strong.” I exclaimed.
“Oppa, you’ll get drunk before your second sip.” She laughed.
We were having so much fun. Emi sings very well.
As “Wrongful encounter” started playing, she drank from the vodka bottle.
“Yah! That’s too strong for you!” I exclaimed. She laughed and I smiled.
The drinks were starting to get the best of us. I was trying to look for a song Emi wanted to sing. I accidentally pressed another one. Big Bang’s Bae Bae started playing. No matter how hard I was trying to pause it, I couldn’t.
I looked at her. She was staring blankly at the wall; she suddenly started crying. Everything was spinning, so how I could I walked towards her and hugged her.
“He’s such a bad boy!” She shouted in between tears. “He broke my heart, but I still love him.” She continued.
It was painful to hear her say this, but I needed to comfort her.
I don’t remember well what happened next.
We were laughing out loud when Taehyun entered and ended our party. “It’s time to go.” He said.
Someone helped me to get to the van while Taehyun was carrying Emi who was totally wasted, she was laughing hysterically now and then.
The next thing I remembered is Emi leaning on my shoulder as Taehyun was driving us home.
“We’re here.” Taehyun said. I opened the door and pulled Emi out of the van. “We’re here.” I shouted and laughed. Emi laughed too.
“Ssshh!” Taehyun exclaimed. “Wait for me, I’ll just park the van.”
I don’t remember how but Emi and I were in the elevator laughing hysterically. I wanted to kiss her so badly, but something was stopping me.
The elevators door opened in the 35th floor.
“Kiss her! KISS HER!” A voice inside of my head kept repeating.
I walked out of the elevator. I turned and looked at her. She was smiling while biting her bottom lip.
I knew that if I kissed her right now, we would probably have too. The elevator’s door started to close. “Press the button! Don’t let her go!”
“Good night Emi!”
“Sleep well Oppa.” She whispered before the doors closed.
