A millennium ago the Gods and Goddesses faced an ancient creature which was even older than earth itself. Even with united forces they just could not defeat the primordial being. Thus, they realized that they needed help and decided to rely on the latest race: the mortals. Each one of the Olympians chose the strongest, wisest and most skilled among the humans to be given a gift of the Gods and Goddesses. With a lot of effort and suffering, they managed altogether to banish the strong enemy in the deepest abyss where it would hopefully would never return. Therefore those humans were obliged to ensure this and protect their world from any harm. From the moment on they were gifted, they all shared a special bond that brought them together once earth was in danger. The humans were fated to die sooner or later but their gifts were passed on the next person in the bloodline, so the legacy could always live on.
