"Momo, can I talk to you?" Mika said the next day. It was a nice day
out finally. Chilly, but there weren't many clouds.

"Sure."

Mina was taking a shower upstairs because apparently today they're
hosting a barbeque. I wasn't aware of this.

Mika and I sat on the couch in the living room and she looked at me
seriously. "It's about Mina."

"What about her?"

"Well, first of all you have to know that lots of girls and boys are after her."

"I found that out the hard way."

"Yes, well there's one in particular you need to watch out for."

"Who's that?"

"Mimi. She's been our neighbor for the past ten years and she's a year
younger than Mina. The minute she met Mina she fell in love, but she
has a bit of an abrasive way about her. She's freaky, and she's very
unstable."

"Okay, well thanks for the warning."

"There's more." She paused and I waited for her to continue. "She's very
tall. Just about two inches shorter than Mina and she's probably one
of the most beautiful girls you'll ever see. She's a model."

My eyes widened. "Oh wow. Well...Mina isn't interested is she?"

"Well when Mina came back from school a couple years back and Mimi had
become this Amazon beauty Mina was a little interested, but just because
she looked different didn't mean her personality changed. She was still
a nutcase and Mina quickly realized that, but she has a lot of tricks up
her sleeve and you have to remember Mina is a girl and she's young.
That's the worst because she's the most susceptible to her charm."

"Are you saying she's going to cheat on me?"

"No, but I'm saying she's going to try and get her. Or she just my kill
you. Either way you need to be on your toes."

"She sounds like a real piece of work."

"Yeah, even more than you."

"That's saying something."

"Well, just watch out. She usually rushes straight over when Mina gets
back, but she must just not know yet since Mina got home only last night."

"Right."

"I'm positive she doesn't know about you."

"Is it bad that I'm actually excited to meet this so called psychopath?"

"No, I figured you would." She smiled.

"By the way, I have a quick question."

"Shoot."

"Why are we having a barbeque on a freezing winter day?"

"Because it's fun, duh!"

I laughed. "Touché."

We heard someone coming down the stairs and turned around to see Mina.
"Hey." I smiled.

"Hey."

"Your sister just informed me of Mimi." I said smirking.

Her eyes widened. "Oh God! She's not coming today is she?!"

"Sorry Sis. She is." Mika said.

"I would rather her not kill Momo."

"Well, I'm sure Momo can hold her own."

"She's tough, but I've never seen such a strong creepy girl as Mimi."

"Yeah, well, I'm really interested to see how this goes."

Mina rolled her eyes and sat on the other side of me.

 

We all sat there and talked before we heard the doorbell ring, signaling
the first of the guests. I prepared myself for Mimi. It had to be them
since they only live next door.

Mika went and opened the door, I saw Mina shrink in the corner of my
eye.

I looked over at the door right as Mika opened it. My eyes widened in
shock. There were three people but the most noticeable was the
absolutely stunning girl in the middle. Mika wasn't exaggerating. She's
extremely tall and very beautiful. She has long brown hair and dark brown
eyes. Her skin is the perfect tan color and her smile practically
sparkles. I had to admit, I was a little envious. Me with my shortness.

"Mika!" She said happily with her lovely sing song voice. This girl was
practically perfect. I couldn't even imagine her being so cruel as what
they described. She wrapped her arms around her neck hugging her. "How
have you been?"

"Good." She smiled and greeted who I guessed were her parents. They
weren't half as attractive. They are definitely good breeders to have a
daughter like her.

"So where is everyone?" She asked. From that I'm guessing she means,
'Where is Mina?'

"Well Mina is right there." She said smiling evilly and pointing our
way.

Mimi caught eyes with me and I could see her bright brown ones cloud
over. She must be slightly suspicious.

I looked over at Mina and saw her crawling away on the ground. Is she
really this bad?

"Who are you?" Mimi asked walking my way. I felt slightly self conscious
wearing just some jeans and a t-shirt, while she was wearing tight denim
jeans, gorgeous high heels, a really cute flowy top with a nice leather
jacket.

"Hi, my name is Momo." I reached out to shake her hand.

She smiled warmly. "Nice to meet you, I'm Mimi."

"So, you're their next door neighbors?"

"Yeah, we have been for ten fun years." She said like a bubbly little
girl.

"That's awesome. My neighbors are just creepy old people that yell at me
every time I walk out the door."

She chuckled. "So if you don't mind me asking, who are you? Like why are
you here? I don't mean to be rude, I promise."

"Oh, well..."

"Hey! There's Mina!" Mika said cutting me off.

Mina was just sneaking up the stairs. Mimi whipped around and smiled
widely. "Mina!" She yelled, running up and hugging her. "How have you
been?! It feels like it's been forever since we've gotten to hang out
since you're always away at that school."

"Yeah, it has been a while." She said rubbing the back of her neck.

"So later how about we go and hang out together." She said smirking to
her. That got my blood boiling a little.

"Well, uh..." She stuttered. I got up and walked over to her, waiting for
her to finish what she was going to say. "Yeah!" She grabbed my arm and
pulled me in front of her. "And my girlfriend Momo can come too."

I think she's using me as a shield!

I looked up at Mimi. I felt like such a midget between these two. I
watched as Mimi's face went from shock to anger in a second.
"Girlfriend?! When the heck did this happen?!"

"About three months ago." I said crossing my arms.

"You cow!" She yelled.

I stopped myself from reaching up and tearing her hair out. I've already
been in one catfight recently, I don't need another one, plus there's no
food around.

"Mimi, I think you're a cool person. Don't ruin it." I sneered.

"I just can't get over it! You're so short! And she's so tall!"

"Listen, just because you're obsessed with Mina doesn't give you any
right to call her girlfriend, the one she actually loves, a cow. That's
just rude." I said shrugging.

"I am not obsessed."

"Oh, so if we went over to your house right now, you wouldn't have
numerous pictures?"

She blushed. "No." She said quietly.

Then Mika had to in. "You probably do!" she was laughing like a
maniac.

"You're such a psycho!"

I could see Mimi's eyes filling with tears. Oh no. I all of the sudden
felt extreme pity towards this girl. She really likes Mina and just
got rejected and embarrassed. That's not fun. The tears started pouring
and she ran out of the house. "Where is she going?" I asked.

"Probably back to her house." Mika said.

"Thank God. She scares me." Mina commented.

I punched them both in the arm. "Hey! What was that for?" Mina
exclaimed.

"That was for making a girl cry! What's wrong with you two?! She may be
a little off her rocker, but that's no reason to make the poor thing
cry! She really likes you Mina and was just embarrassed and rejected,
have some compassion for goodness sakes."

I turned and ran out after her. I don't know why, but I feel sorry. I
mean, I may be a jerk, but in some cases I do have a heart.
