*Recap Of Chapter 17*

"Hmm..." I thought for a second. What if I waited to say 'I love you'
like she waited to ask me to be her girlfriend. I smirked. "Okay, well I
think you deserve to be left hanging for a little while."

"What?! Why?"

"Payback." I shrugged.

"For what?"

"Think about it darling. What did you wait to do so long I thought about
saying no?"

She had her thinking face on for a second, then it clicked. "Oh! I get
it....wait a second! That's not cool!"

I laughed and skipped away.

"Say it."

"No."

"Say it."

"No."

"Hirai Momo."

"Myoui Mina." I mocked.

"Why are you being so difficult?! It's been like a week and a half!"

"Your point?"

She threw her hands up in frustration. "You're so damn stubborn!"

"When did this become new?"

 

We were sitting in biology class and it was the last couple minutes
before the bell rang. Nayeon was sitting in the corner brooding because
when she walked in this morning she happily began walking over to Mina
then totally biffed it.

"You fool!" I said falling out of my chair in laughter. She got up and
pouted like a child and sat in the corner. I sort of feel sorry for her
sometimes.

"Momo, please!"

"Mina, you can't ask!"

"Well, what do you call what you did for two weeks straight?"

"This is different."

"No it's not."

"Yes it is." And here we go again. We argued for the next ten minutes
then the bell rang.

 

I got up and walked out. When we were safely out of the classroom and
nasty teacher vision she grabbed my arm and pulled me into her, planting
her lips on mine.

When she pulled away I smiled. Her eyes lit up a little, looking slightly
hopeful.

"Nope, not going to say it."

It looked like an A bomb went off in her eyes, shutting that light off
instantly.

"Fine!" She yelled stomping off.

I laughed to myself when Seulgi came up. I hadn't talked to her in a
while. Nor have I even wanted to.

"What's her problem?" She asked smiling.

"She's just upset. No worries."

"About what?"

That's the thing, she always wants to know what's up. If something
happened, she has to know. It's really annoying.

"Nothing." I smiled and swiftly walked to my next class.

I tried to get away from her, but she kept following and asking. Can't
the girl take a hint?!

I finally got really fed up and turned around quickly. "I love her, but
I won't say it!" I yelled. Everyone in the hallway stopped and stared. I
could feel my cheeks turn bright red.

Then I saw Mina a little down the hallway with wide eyes. "I knew it!"
She yelled pointing at me.

"Shut up!" I yelled back and hustled into my classroom.

I sat down and slammed my head on the desk. I just left it there. I
didn't want to see the faces of people staring at me right now.

I could actually feel their stares sizzling into my back. It burns!

Finally class got started, but I continued to keep my head down.

Not worth it.

Mina was staring at me and smirking. I was doing my homework for
today. We were in the quiet library. I had gotten here earlier and
gotten everything out before she could get here and poison the air with
her snarky remarks.

"Stop smirking, or I'll hit you." I hissed, and continued with my homework.

"No, you know why?" I could hear the enjoyment in her voice. "Because
you love me." She whispered in my ear.

I slammed my pencil down and shoved her out of her chair.

"Shut up!"

She just laughed. "It's a good thing that I know you so well, that it
doesn't bother me that you have issues with the word love and continue
to be a because of it."

I rolled my eyes and continued with my work.

 

Finally I finished everything and swiftly got up and began walking out.
Mina hurriedly got her stuff together and ran after me.

"Okay, now this is getting ridiculous. What the hell is your problem?"
Mina asked, grabbing my arm.

"I'm just so embarrassed!"

"Why?!"

"I don't even know!"

"You have serious mental issues! You know that?!"

"Then why are you dating a nutcase!"

"Because I love her! Even though she's too big of a pansy to say it back!"

"Fine! I love you Myoui Mina! How's that?!"

"Perfect!"

She quickly leaned down and pressed her lips roughly to mine. It took a
second, but I slowly released my bag and books and they collapsed on the
ground. I wrapped my arms around her neck and deepened the kiss. I do
love her. It's different then before because she truly loves me back. She
has no ulterior motive. She just loves me.

 

We stood there kissing for a while before she finally pulled away and
placed her forehead against mine, smiling.

"There, was that so hard?"

I smiled back. "It actually felt nice to say it, and mean it."

"And I promise you, I do love you."

"I believe you."

"I don't know how it happened, but it did."

"Attraction is one of the many mysteries of nature."

"So true."

She pecked me on the lips again then we walked hand in hand back to my room.

"So, listen, next week is winter break, and I know how important that
is, but since we have like six days before Christmas, I was wondering if
you'd like to come meet my family." Mina said smiling weakly.

"Oh! Well, of course! I would love to." I smiled reassuringly.

"Great."

She kissed my cheek and walked away.

 

I smiled to myself and grabbed my phone when I went inside. I sat on my
bed, hugged my Tuesday Penguin (seeing as it's Tuesday) and called my mom.

I told her about our plans. Argued for about half an hour. Then she
agreed that I could go for three days. That seemed reasonable enough.

I finally got off the phone with her and went to take a quick shower and
got ready for bed. Today has been a pretty nice day, and she was kind of
right. I do have some issues. I mean, I had a hard time saying 'I love
you' to the one girl that I could say it most easily to: the one that
loves me.

 

Now I get to meet her family. I wonder what they'll be like. I know that
losing a loved one and so recently would be hard, so they may not be an
extremely lively bunch like my family (thank God), that would be a
serious relief.

I cuddled up with my penguin and quickly fell asleep smiling.
