Ah, summer. You loved this time of the year since it brings you memories of when Mark first asked you out. Now, going on your two year anniversary of dating, he wanted to take you out for a day trip.

Bring a bathing suit! You remember him saying. It was only logical for you to assume that he would be taking you near water. So the beach, a lake, or a water park. Although you could already guess where he was probably going to take you, you were still excited. It had been two years since you two started going out, but he still gave you butterflies.

Mark pulled up in front of your house and came to your door in swimming trunks, a Hawaiian shirt, and shades over his eyes. He left the car on, which allowed you to hear the music blasting from it.

“C'mon babe! Let’s goOOooo,” he whined.

As you loaded your things into the car and boarded the passenger seat, you had to mention, “Wow, you seem excited.”

“Are you not? We’re gonna have alotta fun today!” He exclaimed, beaming at you.

The car ride there was loud and exciting. You two sang and rapped to the songs on the radio. One of Mark’s favorites, Love Yourself by Justin Biebercame on. You stopped singing and listened to him as he sang melodiously. When he noticed you weren’t singing, he asked you why you had stopped.

“I like hearing you sing. You sing well, Mark.” His face brightened at your compliment.

After driving a while, you finally reached the beach around 2pm. When Mark parked, you two made your way onto the sand to set up for a late lunch. He had brought four beach towels, an umbrella, and many goods with him. As you finished setting up, you laid your legs out on a towel and waited for Mark to hand out the food. To your surprise, he took out one of your favorite foods. You thought it was nice of him to consider what you liked especially when he wasn’t too crazy about it.

Mark finished eating first and walked into the water. He called out to you, “Y/N! It’s warm in here, I promise! Get in!”

You were just finishing your last bite as you said, “Maybe later!” However, that wasn’t an answer accepted by Mark. Hence, he walked out of the water soaked from the waist down and picked you up from where you were sitting. He had trouble though, since you were squirming around, obviously not wanting to be submerged in the water.

You saw that he was knee-high in the water, and you knew what he was going to do next.

“Don’t you dare do it, Mark Tuan. I swear if you do, I’ll-” Splash. And there you went in the water. You stood up and gave him an appalled look. Your next move was obvious.

You were glad that not many people were around, since a splashing war broke out between you two. That lasted a while, and when you guys calmed down and signed a peace treaty, you resorted to just swimming around in the water and making sculptures with the sand.

Before you knew it, there was the sunset in the sky. You and Mark were now walking along the shore, holding hands.

“I remember when we first met, you said that you like long walks on the beach. SO cliche!” you reminisced.

“Well I do, when they’re with you!”

“Ewww, so greasy,” you laughed. You could never get enough of him, even when he was being super cheesy. In the middle of your conversation, you heard a loud pop somewhere. You and Mark turned in the direction of the sound to see the cause of the pop, as well as another one going up into the air. Fireworks.

You guys stood and watched the show, and you leaned your head on Mark’s shoulder.

“I’m glad we took a long walk on the beach,” you admitted.

“Yeah well it’s good I like long walks on the beach.”
