No Time to Waste

Right Guy Wrong Time

The audience cheered and screamed his stage name as loudly as they could.
As happy as their enjoyment and joyful faces made him, he was also exhausted and tired and glad that this has been the last performance as of this comeback. Finally a break of the very same routine. He listened halfheartedly to the Mc talk, and acted surprised and thankful once they announced his stage name.
“GDragon!”
More shouting, more applauding and a lot of people bowing in the middle of the golden confetti shower. Before he knew he already held a microphone and his new won trophy. Fortunatly he was used in holding thank you speeches by now, he could probably hold them fast asleep.
How far he had come since his debut days. He knew he has it all, he should be happy excited and thankful. But yet there was a tiny nagging voice in the back of his mind. Unsettling. There was just something money couldn’t buy, the most beautiful women couldn’t give him, and the fans support couldn’t sooth. He just couldn’t pin point it. It started in a feeling of exhaustion, exhaustion of this pretty life, full of pretending and lies. An image he slowly loses himself in and the numbness that comes with it.
Something he loved the most in his life, making music, sharing it with people who appreciated it, became to something like a dull routine. Yet despite his thoughts he forces himself to smile brightly being fully aware that no one could tell the difference. Lowering his body into a bow to show his gratitude and respect and finally it was over.

He appreciated the quietness of the backstage area, even though it wasn’t really quiet at all. Other groups approaching him promoting their new single or albums. People talking with each other, or screaming staff because there was no time to meet. It was busy yes, yet so calm and isolated from the public. But all the noises disappeared in a big slur when his eyes captured hers and the time around him seems to freeze.
She was as amorous as ever, maybe even more today than she used to be. Still the same stunning smile that let his breath get caught and made her eyes disappear. She looked stunning to say at least and he couldn’t help but to notice how much she had matured. Not in a bad way, not in a bad way at all.
“Sohee…”
a soundless whisper that escaped his dry throat.  It seemed to have broken the charm that had kept the world from moving as she suddenly stood in front of him still smiling brightly.

“Long time no see.”
A cheerful greeting and there is nothing of the past sadness he had caused and he was grateful for it.

“Oh yes, I didn’t expected to see you here…”
Did he just stutter?! How old was he again?
Darn this girl and her prepossessing charm.
“I came as a support.”
“-for who?” he asked a little too fast for his own liking. As she barely finished her sentence and may have addressed it herself if she had the chance to do so.
He hadn’t paid to close attention to the co-artist of today’s stage, yet he was pretty sure he hadn’t read any of her former group or label mates’ names on the list. Granted he did pay closer attention to the groups closer to his age then to the rookies, which came and disappeared so fast nowadays.
Sure some of them were promising and all of them had their fair share of talent. But talent on it’s own wasn’t enough. Even he feared the next day, the next competition, with the next scandal everything could be gone.

“For you, you dummy! I heard it will be your last stage before-“
“Oh … before military, yes … it was.”
“Are you scared?”
Was she always that nonchalant? But then again she has always been a very honest person with a strong disliking for beating around the bush.

“Of course, a little.”
It was the truth and there was no shame in admitting it.

“Well that’s good, because else it would have been a waste of my time.”
She grinned slyly and that’s when he noticed she still had it, the glint in her eyes.

“Aren’t you going to ask me out? Or do I need to do that for you as well?”
Her lips purse, and he couldn’t help but to laugh, honestly a little bit overwhelmed.
“I’m not sure if I like this new confident side on you...-”
His answer was confronted with a glare and still pouting lips, making them look tantalizing kissable.

“-but yes of course, I hope you haven’t had dinner yet?”
The former wonder girl shook her head softly.

“Just your luck, I haven’t.”
She answered brightly and before he knew he smiled along.

“I do need to change first though, can you wait?”
His words trigger something in both of them, and without any delay he had taken her hand and pulls her along.

“Never mind, let’s go.”

There has been enough waiting already…..

Chapter 7: OMG I love the addition to this story, it's such a precious feeling to wrap up everything into one. It is already such a beautiful story, with the words used and the way that you describe things, very warm and inviting but also realistic. I love that! I also liked the way that you added the hint to the song Tell Me in the end! ♡♡♡
