〈 Prologue 〉

“Um! For a long time now, I’ve liked you, Jisoo.” I confessed shyly, looking at the small vase of flowers in my hands, which I bought to give it to Jisoo.

The classroom was incredibly quiet because it was only Jisoo and I. It was still pretty early for students to come to school at this hour. So that was why I decided to confess my feelings for him.

Jisoo stopped cleaning the blackboard to look at me. He looked surprised as his eyes went wide open, “Sorry, Jeonghan. I have someone I like…”

“Ah.” That was the only word I could say. I was stunned. I could feel that my heart shattered into pieces like a glass that was purposely dropped but I just smiled awkwardly and tried to act normal.

I professed my love for the first time in my life. And I got rejected. I got rejected first thing in the morning. Though that was my fault for confessing first thing in the morning.

“I see, I see! Don’t worry about it! Ok?” I said while waving my hand rapidly.

“O-Ok…” Jisoo said unsure, scratching the back of his head.

Nodding furiously, I turned my body around and sprinted out of the classroom after saying my goodbye to Jisoo, “Ok! I’m going to go change the water.”

“AH! Jeonghan, watch out! In fro-”

I wasn’t looking forward while running but instead I was looking at the ground and neither did I hear what Jisoo said until I bumped into a body and the water from the small vase suddenly splashed all of its content onto the person, drenching the body and clothes in icy cold water.

Drip, Drop, Drip.

The soft sound echoed throughout the room. I slowly lifted my head up to look directly at that person's eyes. I froze on spot, my eyes widening and my breathing halting for a moment.

The person’s hair was drenched with the flower that was thrown on his head, water running down his face dripping onto his wet uniform. This guy is my classmate, Choi Seungcheol.

“I-....” I opened and closed my mouth, trying to speak, but the words refuse to come out because I was a trembling mess in front of him. So I tried again, “I-I’m s-sor-rry..” But what scared me the most was the fact that he was taller than me with well-built figure that could kill me anytime soon with using only his thick thigh.

He was someone everyone avoided. There was also a rumor that if you get within one meter’s distance of him, you’ll cease to live because of his piercing gaze and his emanating evil aura, he’s called the Demon.

Ding dong.

The bell rang, signaling the start of the 1st class.

I could feel my soul coming out of my mouth, ‘This is me, who is possibly cursed with the worst day of my life today.’
