Memory

Description

"I remember. I will never forget."

Clara Kwon, a postgraduate in Yonsei's medical school, finds small bone pieces at the back of the school field identifies them immediately to form a phalange. A series of events bring her to Ethan Jung, a rookie archaeologist currently attached to the university.

This idea came to me a very long time ago (I think last year?), until I suddenly thought about it again and decided to make it come true. I chose Clara to be BoA's English name because it has the same meaning as her real Christian name "Chiara", (both mean "clarity"). As for Yunho's name, I really had no idea, and Ethan Jung sounded good, so I decided on it. XD By the way, a phalange is like, the bone of your finger/toe.

I apologise in advance if I don't finish this, because 1. I have many many unfinished fics it's a bad habit sighs 2. I have been in a massive writer's block and haven't written since I think the start of this year. So, here goes nothing...

Foreword

"Why are we here again?" Clara aimlessly looks around the field where the school rugby team is practising. The deafening whistle goes off almost every ten seconds, and she swears that if she stays here for till the end of the practice session as her best friend claims they would, her hearing would begin malfunctioning.

"Stop being a spoilsport! Junsu oppa needs us to cheer him on you know," Liyin responds without turning her eyes away from the team, squealing immediately after as her said crush turns to look at her (the two of them in fact, for they were the team's sole supporters that day).

"The things you do for your crush," Clara mutters under her breath, "and the things I do for you. Be glad it's our first semester that I can spare the time to be here with you." Clara's dread for Saturday afternoons start to grow at the thought of spending all of them watching meaningless rugby games, and wishes Liyin never found out that Junsu is on the team.

"Please, it's not like I'm the only person who has a crush," Liyin replies once again without facing Clara. "If you had seen yourself for Jaejoong-"

"Shut up!" Clara's sudden hissing and the whack that came along startles Liyin. "He's passing by," Clara continues in a whisper.

Liyin finally lets her eyes off Junsu, turning to find Jaejoong, and then merely laughs at Clara. Clara ignores that giggle she's already used to, her eyes sparkling as they closely followed the tall figure slowly passing them. Without knowing she leans backwards to keep her gaze on him, then falls over the short bench they were seated on at the back of the field.

"Are you okay?" the loud crash alarms Liyin. Clara can only look up and sigh in dismay, seeing that Jaejoong is already gone. As she tries to get herself up with the help of Liyin, she feels her right palm against small, hard objects on the soil and finds them to be ivory in color. Squatting down to get a closer look, she manages to identify them as parts of a phalange with four years of the course for her Bachelor's Degree in Medicine.

"I think there's a real skeleton here!" her exclamation is partly filled with fear, and partly filled with fascination.

Following that, is a ear-piercing scream from Liyin as she gets off the bench, that captures the attention of everyone in the surroundings.
