P R O L O G U E :

The night was young and it seemed like just any other day. 

They sat at the same old table and chair which eventually turned into their favorite spot over the past year.

They were seating across each other, not afraid to look intently straight at one another’s eyes; trying to get a grip on how much they’ve familiarize themselves since then, grasping the reality of how much they’ve shared without expecting it a year ago.

 “Joohyun-ah.” He called out softly. 

She just lightly scoffed, “Honorifics.” She reminded raising her brow at him.

He simply heartily chuckled, making her feel lighter. “I thought we already got past through that.” He sneakily replied with a smile and voice that could have melted any girl out there.

“I don’t remember agreeing.” She simply stated; arms crossed and lips pouted.

He simply chuckled again, melting inside. It was those subtle movements of hers that drove him absolutely crazy. “Doesn’t really matter.” He replied pinching her nose, trying to suppress the urge to hug her just right there.

“Is it only me or you’ve completely forgotten our three years’ ?” She darted her glance, “Weren’t you supposed to be polite and all?”

“We’re far too close to speak formally. You know that.” He responded calmly enjoying their little squabble. “And it’s not three years. It’s two years, two months and 18 days. If we were to weigh that between us, it would mean absolutely nothing.” He has always enjoyed moments like this, circumstances where she tries to bring up age and establish authority like a kitten trying to deem itself as a lion. In the end she was just an adorable ball of fur. He crossed his arms too, afraid that he’ll just surrender to his urge and just hug her right there; the eyes of the people on them be damned.

Her brows met, slightly infuriated by the situation, “You’re enjoying this aren’t you?”

“I would be lying if I said I wasn’t.” He answered slyly.

She frowned harder, hating the fact their roles felt like they’ve reversed. “How can be 810 days nothing?” She tried refuting, wanting to gain the upper hand. But it just made his heart flutter, so she counted too. Does this mean she has considered him?

“I see you’ve counted too.” He simply smiled even harder while she just bit her lip and looked the other way. This wasn’t supposed the way it goes. “Be careful of your words, Joohyun. I’ve been trying to suppress myself. But, if you keep on showing off your charms, I might just hug you like I’d been dying to.” He added, arms at the top of the table with his hands interlaced as he leaned his head on it.

“You’re suddenly a wolf now?” She smirked, brushing off the flutters she felt and simply placed her arms on the top of the table and leaned her head in her palms, almost mimicking him. “And, honorifics.” She reminded.

And there goes another chuckle from him, “We’re running in circles.”

“Haven’t we always?” She chuckled shaking her head.

“Ah, butterflies all over my stomach again.” He just mumbled and looked away, bringing down his hands on his lap.

She just shook her head and sneered, “Let’s just talk about the matters at hand. I’ve heard the company has scheduled the announcement of our break-up.” She mentioned as she slightly smiled.

He quickly returned his gaze back to her upon hearing those words leave . He smiled along and looked at her intently. He raised his hands and reached out to hers, he then drew circles among her palms and finally opened them as he used her hands to cup his face, succumbing to her soft touch and sweet scent, “There won’t be such news.”
