The Jewel Prince is on the wanted list, Lee Hyukjae is on the dean’s list. The Jewel Prince is a robber, Lee Hyukjae is a philanthropist. No one knows how infamous Jewel Prince looks like, every unfortunate kid in the district knows the kind-hearted Lee Hyukjae. They contrast like day and night, because Hyukjae seldom come during the latter time and the Jewel Prince never appear during the day.

One night, running from Minister Hwang Moo Song’s men as well as the law enforcers after he breaks into the Minister of Health and Welfare’s house, the Jewel Prince throws off his black hat and rips off his black jacket. He replaces his black shades with a pair of round spectacles. Now clad in a blue dress shirt with small white dots, he changes into Hyukjae, completing the transition with a book in his hand and a strawberry popsicle he buys along the way.

Casually, he crosses the road without paying much attention, only glancing once. He sees a blur of red and blue light, then, in the next second, Hyukjae is lying on the hard ground and he winces when it hurts to move his leg.

“I’m sorry. I am so sorry. Are you hurt badly? Oh my, you are!”

Someone grabs his hand and the first thing Hyukjae notices is the police badge right on the man’s chest. He gulps discretely, calming himself. His leg is prodded.

“Aw! What are you doing?”

He looks up and the police officer in front of him looks as if he just eat something extremely sour, “I’m sorry. I don’t mean to. Please, please let me help you. I’ll take you to the hospital and pay the bills but please don’t report or post any complaint about me. I can’t afford to have any bad record right now.”

‘A rookie? Then, there’s no risk here.’ Hyukjae nods and let the officer helps him up.

“I’m Lee Donghae.”

“Lee Hyukjae.”

Hyukjae is wrong, though. He does not know it, yet, but he is at risk, a very dangerous risk. And because of the rookie police officer, he may just be willing to risk everything.
