Vicariously

Description

When Yoon Hyora’s estranged older sister, the president of GOT7’s official fanclub passes away in an accident, the vice president seeks her out to take her sister’s place. Reluctantly, she leaves behind the fanclub that she had been the president for— BTS’s. While the process of coming to terms with her new position is rocked by backlash from her former fandom and the corporate scandals of South Korea's biggest entertainment companies, Hyora finds out more about her sister's life and relationships. The closer she gets to uncovering the truth about her death, the deeper she gets into the clandestine world of idols and entertainment industry. And the way out isn't quite as easy as the way in.

Foreword

"I will show restraint, just like you said we should.
You think I'll apologize for things I've left behind, but you got it wrong.
And I'm as sane as I ever was."

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

The life of idols has always fascinated me but what fascinates me more is the life of their dedicated fans. This work of fiction does not assume any sort of truth behind the relationships of idols and fandoms but presents an imaginative interpretation of the love and dedication that exists between the two. I have no knowledge of the fanclub systems in Korea nor am I insinuating that what happens in this story is realistic. For the purpose of the story, Big Hit Entertainment remains a subsidiary of JYP Entertainment.
