love is a beautiful pain
Luhan was searching for Anne all around the neighbourhood. He kept shouting for her, not bethering about the overwhelming sensation in his throat. Nothing mattered more at this moment. Luhan needed to see Anne. He have to make sure that she was in a safe and sound. But more than anything, he wanted her to be in a place where he could always see her, meeting her, and exchanging smiles with one another.
Anne was supposed to be by his side—just like his sister. If Anne were to leave that place empty, Luhan didn't know how much he could take it this time.
After half an hour, Luhan reached a playground. It was dark and empty, so he almost gave up and skipped that place. Something caught his ears and it caused his steps to cease. It was a song's hummings. He recognized that rhythm so well. That was Anne favourite song. His eyes were glancing at every possible corner until finally it stopped at a corner which partially lightened by the moonlight. There was a figure who sat on it. Luhan's shoulder sagged. A forceful breath of relief escaped from his mouth. Even so, the heavy sensation beneath his chest didn't go away.
"What are you doing here?!" Luhan almost shouted in frustration. He grabbed Anne by her shoulder and forcefully turned her toward him. Anne kept her gaze on the ground. A peculiar vibes emitted in her eyes as it travelled to meet up with Luhan's.
"Did the postman come to your house?" she asked softly.
Luhan narrowed his gaze, catching his breath. He was temporary lost for words.
"I was inside the house when the postman came," the corner of twisted. "I know for sure he'll come to your place, telling that I'm not at home, then..."
"Is that it?" with one feet tapping on the ground, he glared down at her. "Because you want to see me running and all just to look after you? Is that it?!" his voice skipped an octave, however, Anne didn't look astonish or anything, as if she had been going through this before.
"Luhan-ssi." she retreated a step backward after shoving his hands away from her. Luhan wasn't able to intercept. He stood there like a statue, looking at anywhere but her.
Blood drained from his face, the anguish inside his chest would only worsen if he continued to look at her face. Something didn't feel right about this. He was still not used to all of this. Anne was strayed from her usual self – from the way he wanted her to be.
"Four years ago, when I accepted the chocolate you gave me, I knew one thing for sure: that I was a mere replacement of your deceased sister." It was awful to admit, and it threatened to register on her face.
"I don't want that. No more." Anne held her gaze on him. Sadness floating in her eyes, she was truly in danger of shedding a tear. "Did you think I don't know about the reasoning behind it?" she rose an eyebrow and let out a soft grunt. "You were feeling guilty of your sister's death, and so you wanted to make yourself felt better by feeding me with all those sweets..." malice tinged in her speech.
It was about time for her to reveal the truth that she had been holding in for these past few years...
