Introduction to Apply Fics  

 What is an Apply Fic and how does it work?
An apply fic is a fiction story wherein an author gives out the main plot, or theme, of the story and character slots are open for others to apply for. Applicants will have to create a character starting from their name, personality, background, appearance, preferences, dislikes, etc. and submit it to the author. Authors, writers, graphic artists, fan girl, fan boy, reader, basically anyone can apply. The author usually gives a deadline where she/he gives a date to up until when she/he will accept applicants. After the deadline, the author will choose from the applicants she/he received and the people she/he chooses are the characters that will be in the story.

What are Plotlines?
Plotlines are, well, plots. Not all apply fics have them and it's basically the characters in the story. Each plotline usually have either a background, story, persona, personality, or image that the author wants the charactersto have in the story. Plotlines are used as a guide to creating your characters and I suggest that you strictly follow it. Some authors allow some changes to be made in their plotlines, but let's be honest, authors made that for a reason. In some apply fics, there is an open plotline where you can do do anything you want with your character, which is a big relief especially if you really like the main plot of the story but you don't like the plotlines.
