Yong Junhyung and Jang Hyunseung have been best friends since they were kids. They were inseparable. They lived in the countryside of South Korea that people don’t usually go to. Their hometown can be very cold in summer and ice freezing in winter.

The two kids were like fire and ice, so different but yet so much alike. They were the ultimate coupling of best friends in their hometown. People around the town all knew them. Junhyung’s father is the head chief of the town.

No one really knows where Hyunseung came from, but to Junhyung, it all didn’t matter. He loved his best friend and to him it all that matters. He doesn’t care what others said about Hyunseung, they don’t know him as well as he did. He often had to protect Hyunseung from the bully, so that everyone knows they’re close.

As the two gets older, feelings began to develop. But what if those feelings were just feelings? And much worst as it seems, Hyunseung was the only one that develop those feelings. Junhyung was blinded by lots of love until he fails to see the real one.

It wasn’t until it came a day that God began to twist their fates.  In their cold hometown, came a girl who’s waiting for her own death. Soon, the little boy who often protect by his best friend, had to find a way to protect himself.

Park Jiyeon is a single child. She wasn’t the type of girl who came around to capture boys’ heart, because she’s in a desperate need of her own heart. Jiyeon is also artist. She writes music to get rid of her loneliness. She plays music so that she could forget how sick she is.

When Junhyung stumbles upon the talented girl, he fell instantly for her. And he fell hard. He tried numerous ways to win her heart, but he always fail in short. In a frantic situation, Junhyung had to ask for his best friend’s help.

The moment Junhyung brought Hyunseung to stalk on Jiyeon at the town’s hall; Hyunseung knew he has lost the battle. He won’t be able to win Junhyung’s heart anymore. He wasn’t giving up. But the truth was so clear.

Hyunseung saw the look Junhyung gave Jiyeon. He saw how loving the stare was, and he immediately knew he won’t be able to fight for Junhyung anymore. So Hyunseung had sworn to himself that he would do anything for his best friend.

He even makes up the courage so that he could confront Jiyeon and help her into liking his own love interest. When Junhyung found out about how sick the girl is, Hyunseung can’t help but feel guilty.

And then on one fine day, as if God listen to his prayers, Hyunseung was diagnosed with a dying disease. He knew that it’s already too late to save him. So with much love for Junhyung, Hyunseung decided that he should save Jiyeon for Junhyung’s happiness.

But he was having doubts again, because of how much he loves Junhyung, he couldn’t bear leaving Junhyung behind. As the two began to unravel the real meaning of life, Hyunseung was first to realize that maybe, he wasn’t really that important to Junhyung’s eyes.

Jiyeon meanwhile was getting worst. Days passing by and Junhyung always stay by her side. Hyunseung couldn’t have his best friend on the last days in his life. He was wondering if the moment after his death, Junhyung would still want to be his best friend.

And then, as if God has planned to destroy Hyunseung’s live completely, days before he went through a surgery, his own best friend decides to leave him stumbling and choose Jiyeon over himself.

With no more love for him in this world, would Hyunseung keep fighting for his life and searched for love or would he end it with such despair, with his own best friend leaving him behind and choose to let his love go for Junhyung’s happiness?
