Hyori tapped her converse to the beat of the music, headphones playing the latest single by Big Bang. Her tattered blue hoodie stood out among the modern fashion of cafe patrons and her bright blonde hair contrasted with the sea of black. Her cousin, Wonho, had asked her to meet up with a girl named Sowon. Something about helping her out in a way he couldn't or whatever. She didn't really understand why she was particularly chosen for the task, but if it got her away from the hospital for a little while, than that was all the reason she needed to say yes.

Hyori glanced down at her watch and sighed. Wonho was supposed to be here twenty minutes ago, but he'd sent a text saying that he wouldn't be coming at all. She didn't mind, though it was inconvenient.

The opening of the door and the ringing of the bell drew her attention towards the cafe's entrance. She saw a small little thing make their way towards her table. Hyori could only assume that this was Sowon, the girl Wonho wanted her to meet.

Once again, Sowon had ended up in a place she hadn't intended on going to. She was going to have some quality relaxation time on her own, but when Wonho had kindly asked her to meet him at a cafe, she couldn't possibly say no.

Poor Sowon didn't know what to do. As of late, she'd felt like she was being pulled in a million different directions at once. Between hanging out with Wonho, Jin, her brother Wonshik and his friends, and school, it seemed like forever since she'd had just one day to herself.

She needed it.

There had been a time where Sowon wished for a social life and friends, but admittedly, she now felt a little worn-out and irritable. So when the blonde haired girl smiled brightly at her with pearly whites and waved her over, she had trouble keeping that ever present smile on her face.

Oh great, another person to drag me places.

However, the minute said girl started talking, Sowon was immediately thrown off.

"Hello, you must be Sowon! I'm Hyori, Wonho's cousin." Sowon laughed, genuinely laughed for the first time in what felt like forever. She couldn't believe it. Was Hyori also autistic?

"Hello, I'm Yoo Sowon. I lived in Gwangju province, I'm 152 cm, and I like playing with the kids at the orphanage. I even want to get them a 3D TV like the ones in the stores! Oh and my favorite color is blue and -"

Hyori chuckled and gestured for Sowon to sit down. "I can see why Wonho asked me to meet you now." Sowon nodded, though she didn't really know why.

"Your cousin is very nice. He always helps me when I need it!"

Hyori sipped her espresso, twirling the cup in her palms. "Yeah, you could say Wonho has a soft spot for people like us. He's always got to help those in need."

Sowon's heart dropped a little, but she didn't let it show. Was Wonho just pitying her? Did he just view her as someone who needed help?

"Oh... really? No wonder! That must be why he always clings to me, haha!" She recovered quickly and started to play with her fingernails.

"So, Sowon, what's your damage?"

"Asperger's. You?"

"Asperger's."

Sowon couldn't help but notice how toothy Hyori's grin was. And her blonde hair was so distracting! She couldn't help but keep staring at it.

The conversation fell into a lull, which was fine. Sowon, for once, didn't really know what to say. The silent understanding from the beginning helped ease the stress of conversation.

Sowon never could tell the appropriate social constructs well. It was why she often came off as "that weird girl" because she would laugh when you were supposed to cry and speak out when the situation called for silence or say something that shouldn't have been said.

"Do you go to school too?" Sowon finally asked.

Hyori nodded. "Yes, I go to Woolim Arts but I'm going to transfer to yours and Wonho's school."

Sowon brightened. "Really? Oh, that would be so fun! I'd have another friend to hang out with! And don't tell Wonho this, but I could use a girl around."

The other girl laughed. "Yeah, my cousin can be a bit overbearing at times, but he means well."

Another conversation lull, another sip of espresso, and two scones later, Sowon finally found herself free for the rest of the day. It was Sunday and that meant the school week started tomorrow, so she wanted to enjoy her time left in the confines of her little rooftop room.

When Sowon walked into school the next day, she was completely taken aback by the interior. The halls were decorated in posters and promotional
