Wallet – check

Laptop – check

ID – check

I buttoned my sleeve and checked my reflection once more. Nope, I wasn’t satisfied with my hair. Grabbing my tube of hair gel, I smeared some of it to style my hair to perfection. Happy with how I look I adjusted my suit once more. All I need is to be a pokerfaced robot. Isn’t that what she calls me?

Yes Kim Jaejoong, become a pokerfaced robot

But how can I when I’m grinning like a fool remembering last night? She was my date! She called me oppa! She bought me ice cream!

Oh god! My friends think she is my girl!

I am SO happy.

Clearing my throat and my composure, I carried my belongings and stepped out of my room.

But guess how I was greeted in the morning?

I WASN’T GREETED AT ALL!

I changed three times, styled my hair for god-knows-how-long and she didn’t bother to look at me! She just walked past me and sat on the kitchen counter top. Darling appa happily gave her glass of juice and got back to cooking. Scowling at her, I sat by the dining table. Appa first served me breakfast since she was busy drinking her orange juice. I shoved in the omelet into my mouth forcing it down my gullet, my appetite long gone.

“Stop staring at me, it’s giving me the creeps”

“Good morning to you too brat.” 

She shot me a glare, finished the remaining of her drink in one go, jumped down and walked to the fridge. Inwardly groaning at my attitude, I pulled myself from my seat and followed her. She pulled out her half-eaten bar of chocolate and began to eat it.

“Give me some chocolate too Jenni” I gave her my palm but she broke a piece and left the rest on the top of the fridge.

My heart sank watching her ignore me. What happened now? Weren’t we going on well?

“What’s wrong with her son? Did you mess things up last night?”

“No idea appa. We actually had a very good time last night” I answered looking rather confused at her behavior.

“Maybe she is in the time of her month….”

“They’re painful, aren’t they?”

“Now don’t say you are planning on getting her pain killers” He grinned

Oh shoot, was I obvious now?

“That wasn’t my intention” I firmly stated nevertheless.

“And not your responsibility….” Appa shockingly countered. He breathed out a deep breath and looked at me “It obviously is her crush’s responsibility”

Shouldn't my father be supporting me and her? And NOT her and whoever-that--is?!

I shot him a glare for teasing me. He playfully stuck his tongue at me and headed back to the kitchen. I was about to follow appa to get my lunch box but I caught Jennifer walk past the window.

“Aish!” I groaned, grabbed my bag, paced to the shoe rack, removed my slippers and wore my shoes. She was almost at the gate when I stepped out. I ran to her hand held onto the railing when she pulled it to open it.

“What’s wrong with you?” I questioned.

It only took her one look and I swear I felt thunder attack my body. Blood hell! Her gaze is spine-shivering!

My grip on the railing loosened and I remained glued on my feet fighting the static felt right now. What more is this girl going to make me feel? It’s just one gaze and my mind is going CRAZY.

Snapping from my daze, I paced outside to follow her. I maintained a considerable distance to avoid suspicion. My students maybe living in this neighbourhood and I don’t want to get caught. Keeping a close eye on her, I swung my bag over my shoulder and walked. Did I tell you how lovely she looked with that high pony tail, dark blue denims and white t-shirt?

She is a true beauty. Too beautiful to express in words.

I abruptly stopped walking once she did. It seems her phone rang but she continued to stare at it without answering.

“Aish, you had to call now?!” She hissed scratching her head in frustration. Breathing a deep breath she answered the call. “Ah eomma? What’s up?”

Wow, that’s how kids greet their parents these days? Unbelievable!

“Why? Can’t I talk in Korean now eomma? I’m Korean, aren’t I? it’s not like I’ll forget my Chinese!”

I stepped forward narrowing our gap

“Oh me? I’m walking to uni eomma. Yeah, I live close by.”

She began to walk and I resumed following her.

“Just past a granny selling dumplings.”

I couldn’t help but take a good look around wondering where the lady selling dumplings was.

“Yep. I ate. No, I don’t roam around. I have only one friend and he is a bookworm”

Huang ZiTao the bookworm….. That’s completely true.

“Wait where?” She halted. “Tat Chee Avenue?”

She abruptly turned and I, not knowing what to do or how to react, blankly stared at her. A part of me dreaded what she might do now that I got busted. To my scare, she walked to me.

“Jenni-ah, I”

“Your phone” She ordered, covering the phone with her palm. “Now!”

Quite startled, I pulled it out of my pocket and gave it to her

“Aish, unlock it prof!”

What’s with her attitude now?
