"What the hell?"
Sunggyu smiled, adding the final touches to the interior decoration of the shop. For the past two months, the male had spent almost all his time imprisoned inside the first floor of the shophouse, working diligently on the renovations. He had spent a whole year’s worth of salary from his part-time job on the shophouse in the most secluded corner of the town, and was rather determined to turn it into the most successful music shop in the country.
It was a wild dream, but youngsters like us should have the liberty to dream as much as we want to, right?
He had always loved the thing known as music, but never had the chance to pick up an instrument, simply because his family was too poor for that. That was why he was so bent on opening a music shop on his own, because he simply had to be surrounded by the thing he loved most in life.
He had managed to acquire the first floor of the shop house six months ago, when the previous owner was desperate to get rid of the shop -- despite the low offer Sunggyu gave, after having failed his business.
Sunggyu hummed to himself, as he dusted the top of a few pianos lightly, careful not to leave any scratches behind.
“Careful kid, this is not the way you should clean the dust off a piano.” A voice rang from behind him as he whipped his head around, coming face-to-face with a male around his age, but with larger eyes, and a pair of plumper lips. And yes, Sunggyu had long accepted the fact that his eyes were tiny, and gave up trying to do anything about it.
“Thanks for your warning but I’m afraid that the store is not opened yet.” Sunggyu was surprised that there was even someone in the region, and was even interested in the music shop he was working on. Unexpected, but a good step to doing well in the business.
“I’m not here as a customer.” The other male’s reply made Sunggyu raise his eyebrows, intrigued.
“Then what are you here as?”
“I’m here as your guardian.”
Sunggyu was speechless for a moment, before he raised an arm to chase the other male out of the shophouse, only for his arm to go right through the other male. What the hell?
“Look, I don’t care who you are, but please get out right now.” Sunggyu was clearly freaked out by then, as he pointed to the glass door of the shophouse, his face paler than usual.
“As you say boss.” That was all the other male said as he vanished into thin air right in front of Sunggyu’s face.
As if on cue, everything dawned on Sunggyu. Why the previous owner was so desperate to get rid of the shop space and why he had an almost too relieved look on his face when Sunggyu signed the papers.
