Chapter 38
· Wounded Hearts ·Chapter 38:
"Jungmee." Seokjin calls out her name as he plays with her long brown hair. They have been laying on his bed with blanket covering them from the cold. A small lamp in the corner of his room illuminates his bedroom. Classical music plays lightly in the background as they sit embraced in eachothers' arms.
"Yeah?" She answers. She is laying against his chest, listening to his fast heart beat.
"What is your thought on marriage?" Seokjin continues fiddling with her hair.
Jungmee gakes a little. "I want to get married one day." She pauses for a while. "I want to have a wedding where I can wear a beautiful white dress. My family is there and my friends."
Seokjin heartbeat quickens as imagines her in a white wedding dress. "Anything else?"
"I walk down the aisle and see the love of my life waiting for me." She smiles as she tightens her arms around his waist. She hardly ever talks about things like this with anyone but Minhee. It's a nice feeling for her.
Seokjin smiles brightly. They stay quiet for a minute until he speaks up. "Jungmee."
"Yes?" She answers once more.
"I want to marry you." He informs.
"Like now?" She props up on her elbow and looks into his eyes.
Seokjin smiles. "Not now but sometime near in the future. When I find a steady job where I know I can be able to financially take care of you." Jungmee blushes. "Want to hear more?"
She nods and lays her head on his chest. Seokjin wraps his arms around her waist. "We will get married at huge church. Everyone we love is going to be there. After we will travel for a year or two. We will go to Paris, London, New York City, and Rome. We will come back to Korea and get our own place. I will make food for us everyday. We will cuddle, watch movies, drink hot chocolate on rainy days. Then one day when we are ready we will have our own children."
Jungmee smiles at the thought of each scenario. "And then?"
Seokjin lets out a small giggle. "We will raise our children. We will watch them take their first baby steps, go to school, prom, graduate and get married. We will then have grandchildren. We will grow old together and watch as the world continues to go."
"I like that a lot." Jungmee whispers. Seokjin caresses her back and looks at her.
"I love you so much." He whispers he quickly moves up from the bed as he remembers something and walks across his room. Jungmee sits back on his bed and watches as he opens a drawer from his dresser. He pulls something small but hides it behind him.
"What are you doing?" Jungmee asks as she moves up from the bed and sits on the edge of the bed.
"I need you to listen to me." Seokjin informs her. "Don't say anything yet. Promise me you won't say a word."
Jungmee chuckles. "Okay I promise."
"Okay here it goes." Seokjin inhales. "All my life I have felt like something is missing. I lived with my abusive father for a long time and feel unhappy. As I was growing I always had this feeling of something being empty in my life. When I joined the gang with the other boys I felt I would be fufilled with my life. That that empty feeling inside of me would be gone. I was completely wrong. I was happy and had good time with them but the empty feeling was still there. Then you came along and within a few weeks, I realized you were and will always be the one." Seokjin smiles brightly almosy blusing. "You are this beacon of light that has been guiding me through the darkness and for some odd reason you choose to let me love you."
Jungmee smiles at Seokjin and watches as he fiddles with whatever he is holding behind him. " I kind of asked my mom to help me choose something special for you. I kind of saved up money these past few months, it's not that big or sparkly but..." He quickly opens the small blue velvet box and kneels infront of her. A small but elegant diamond rests on top of the ring. "It's a promise." Seokjin informs. Jungmee stares in shock. "That one day we are going to get married. It's not an engagement ring but you know it is headed towards that."
Jungmee looks at Seokjin as he smiles nervously at her. "What do you say?" Seokjin asks.
Jungmee thinks about the first time she met him. He was at her father's wedding with Yoongi, Namjoon and Hoseok. The way he extended his hand to shake hers. The time he picked her and her sister up from school that first week they started. The times he would sneak to the kitchen to talk to her or the way he would wave at her from a far. The first kiss they shared after he came back. Sure they had their ups and downs but that's how all relationship
