Chapter 32
· Wounded Hearts ·Chapter 32:
Mr. Lee and Ms. Jung insisted on the boys to stay over at their home; it was too cold and dark to be driving back home. Some of them lived minutes away. On the other hand, they would all go to the hospital together in the morning to see Hoseok.
Minhee quietly stood up from her bed. It was past midnight and she couldn't manage to close her eyes. It had been too much for one day. It seemed like problems just kept arising no matter what. She was tired of having to go through so much. Will it ever end? She thought to herself. She paces around her room, breathing heavily. She quietely marches out of her room and heads downstairs to the kitchen. She boils some water and grabs a mug, filling it up with water. She grabs a small bag of chamomile tea. As a child her mother would always give her chamomile tea when she couldn't fall asleep. She remembers how it would calm her down and help her fall asleep on those troubling nights when she would have nightmares. Those nightmares would usually revolve around death. The smell of the warm chamomile tea reminded her of her mother's warm aura. She couldn't help but smile to herself at the thought of her beautiful mother.
She proceeds back up stairs and notices the balcony door open. The cold winter air hits her skin giving her goosbumps even though she has on some warm pajamas and slippers on. A figure sits still on the bench; only the moonlight illuminating his soft angel-like face.
"Can't sleep?" Minhee asks as she quietly takes a seat next to the boy.
"Nope" Jimin sighs. "I can hardly sleep. It is always like that for me."
"How come?" She asks bringing the tea to her lips. It's a little hot but she wants to engulf the tea to keep herself from shivering.
"I have a lot to think about." He answers back and gazes towards the distance. "When I have a lot to think about, I can't sleep. Lately, I haven't been able to sleep because of everything that I have in my mind."
"If I may ask." Minhee begins. "What do you think about?"
Jimin lets out a small chuckle. "Everything really. I think about my father and how troubled he seems lately. I think about school and if I plan on continuing with school. I think about my friendship with Jungkook."
"Oh." Minhee states creating a silence between them for a few seconds. They both stare into the distance. The full moon illuminates the back yard filled with sparkling snow. The stars shine brightly up above the sky, looking like twilinkly lights. There is no sound at all but the neighbors dog barking indoors.
"I think about you." Jimin responds. Minhee stays silent and holds the mug close to her to keep herself warm. "I like you Minhee." Jimin suddenly confesses. He stares into Minhee's eyes with tears that he is holding back. "At first I thought it would be fun to play around with you and just see where it would go. I thought that maybe I would just break your heart and then move on. The more I got to know you and be with you, I realized you were different from every other girl I have been with."
Minhee takes a small sip from her tea, breaking the eye contact with Jimin. "Must have for you to realize I wasn't going to fall easily for you."
Jimin shakes his head. "It didn't. I realized you weren't like the lother girls. You weren't with me because you just wanted to spend time with me or for my looks." Minhee lets out a small chuckle. "I know it sounds egoistic but every girl I ever had been with always tell me that. They don't like me for me. They don't even want to know me for who I truly am."
"Then who are you?" Minhee asks.
"I am a better person that what I was." Jimin responds. "Minhee I am willing to change but only for you." Jimin quickly stands up from
