REVEAL 01. Fun in the Sun
4xU. The ComeBack: AWARD SHOW SEASON!REVEAL ONE - Fun in the Sun
"Hey! Hold on, unnie, please, I can't run that fast!!!" Jinsol yelled, bending over on her knees. The youngest of the duo was gasping for air, while the older girl just laughed, turning back and running back to her, the crew following her. The small cramped city street they were filming on didn't give them a lot of room to move around, and it really should have been easy, considering the energy of the group of girls was practically buzzing.
"Oh come on, Jinnie~ It's for the MV, you gotta keep going!" She teased before smiling brightly over to the camera crew. "Give us a few minutes, please?" She called, letting them rest as she bent over to get to Jinsol's eye level.
"I'm not atheletic like you, unnie." Jinsol pouted, jutting her lip out. "You've got your brother's stamina, I don't know how you Lees do it."
Naeun laughed, tossing her hair over her shoulder, "That goes for you Yoons, how can you all be so cute~" She cooed, pinching her younger bandmates cheeks.
"Unnnnieeee noooooooooo~" Jinsol whined, attempting to save her face. "Hey!" One of the older members yelled, gaining their attention, "Naeun, stop harrassing poor Jinnie, show her how professionalism works, yeah?"
"But we're having FUN, not work!" Naeun playfully whined to the older member, a large smile growing across her face when they glared back at her as a warning.
"I got it, I got it! Professionalism~" She gave her infamous smile that helped earned her the title of "Nation's Girl Next Door", one that she was glad to prove she could still keep, even if she was now 20.
"Come on, Jinnie, once more, yeah?" She held out her hand, smiling brightly. Jinsol nodded, taking her hand. "Yeah!"
"We're ready, everyone! Let's all do our best!" Naeun yelled, making a 'fighting' sign with her free hand, still holding onto Jinsol's tightly.
After filming...
The girls were chatting, discussing the possibilities of maybe eating a late dinner out, or even going back to the dorm to make one of the members cook, since they had another early day of filming and practicing for their ever impending debut-back, as they've decided to call it. Naeun was fighting for eating fried chicken that night, but the others had this absurd idea that she had a problem because she hung out with her brother's band too often --
A sudden buzz against her thigh signaled other plans, though. She looked down at the message in the dim light of the van.
G: You want to meet up for coffee later? I want to hear about your first day on set!
Naeun bit her lip, glancing up at her new group mates, laughing and not having any idea who she was speaking to. Would it be wrong...?
She shook her head, of course not, she reasoned. It'd be wrong to ignore her childhood friend, after all.
N: Sure! Same place, say, an hour from now?
G: Of course. See you, Naeun!
Naeun pulled her cap further down on her head as she saw a couple her age pass by, discussing popular news. She didn't hear any mentions of 4xU, Faerietale, or even GiGi, but she could never be too careful. If Dispatch or anyone else caught her with her friend tonight, it'd spell disaster to her group. But a friend's a friend, she reasoned, stepping into the cafe, a smile immediately crossing her face at the smell of fresh coffee brewing, and the sight of her best friend sitting at their usual table, hood up and face covered with her laptop.
"Gyuri!" She greeted once she approached the table. Gyuri smiled and stood up to greet her friend, hugging her tightly. "How's it going, Naeun? Sit, I got you your favorite already." She said, pushing the cup over to her. Naeun took a few minutes to relish in the warmness of her cup, inhaling the mocha's rich aroma, visibly relaxing.
"Thanks, Gyuri." She smiled, bringing the cup up to her lips and taking a gulp. Gyuri nodded, "Of course. Now tell me everything about your first day. How's everyone? Who are the new girls?"
The next few minutes were filled with Naeun's opinion's on the day, laughing over poor Jinsol's lack of stamina. "Your choreography isn't difficult, right? I'd hate for people to think she can't sing when the MR is removed and she's too out of breath to sing!" Gyuri worried, brows furrowing.
"Oh gosh, it's nothing really." Naeun waved it off, causing Gyuri to laugh. "I forgot who I'm talking too, you Lees never think any choreography is difficult. I'll wish her luck, then." Gyuri leaned back in her seat, shaking her head.
"What about you?" Naeun brought herself to ask. Gyuri raised an eyebrow. "What about me?"
"Well.. Your career. It's been going super well, I've heard?" It was true. Ever since GiGi had signed onto her current label, she'd been very successful after the controversy had died down with Woolim. Her last release, though, her third album, was back in 2013. While she had been doing acting recently (Naeun tried to retain her jealousy on that, she's always wanted to try acting) Naeun was starting to wonder about her musical career.
"Oh! Yeah, you know, I just finished my last acting project in The Producers... My company's getting me started on my next EP, but nothing's confirmed, you know? I have to rest first." Gyuri shrugged, but Naeun sensed a bit of deception coming from Gyuri. Something told her that something was confirmed, but she let it slide. While Gyuri tried not to talk about her career in front of Naeun after what happened six years ago, whenever she did, Naeun wished that she'd just tell her straight instead of being so ambiguous.
"I'm glad, I'll be sure to buy it, as always." She grinned in support. Gyuri smiled back, "Don't worry, I'm supporting you guys too. I already have my money ready to throw at Woolim once preorders start."
"Won't that be a laugh, seeing your name on the preorder list."
"God, Cinderella and the CEO might just lose their minds if they do see it." They both laughed, spending their evening giggling over old times, new times, and times to come. Gyuri may have made a mistake, but they were still friends. And they always would be.
