Prologue

Experienced hands lift a tonged photo paper and transfer it from the developer and onto the stop bath, before another photo paper slips and submerges into the vacated tray. The same tongs shake the excess chemicals off the photo paper before sliding it into the fixer, and just as he has done for the previous six prints, he draws his attention away from that very paper, choosing instead to move the developing photo into the stop bath, as the last takes its place. Nine prints. Nine prints that wield the power to change everything.
