Blood & Bruises - yoonmin

Count The Bullets [BTS]

Pairing:   Yoongi  /  Jimin
Warning(s): language & violence

Yoongi always claims to dislike Jimin. So why does he end up at Jimin's house, covered in blood and bruises?

Jimin could never shut up.

Jimin could never be in' still.

Jimin could never piss off.

And Jimin could, for the hell of it, never leave Yoongi alone.

The energetic, baby faced teen had a naturally born talent to get on his nerves. And it more than often ended up with Hoseok or Namjoon holding a fuming Yoongi back with force while, a still oblivious, Jimin continues with his endless talking, joking and laughing.

Yoongi had more than once voiced out his dislike for the younger, to anyone who would listen. He had also more than once been told 'Ey, it's just the way he is, give him a break.' And he always cursed mentally over the fact that he constantly gave him breaks, but his patience - unlike everyone else's - does have a limit.

At lunch-break Yoongi decided to find some alone time before the juniors leave their classrooms. Giving an effort to find the most secluded and quiet place to hide, eat and rest he soon ended up behind the western storage room, at the fence with only a spider on the wall as company.

He leaned his back at the cool, shadowed wall and slid down with a sigh. If anyone could find him there they deserved a medal. He unpacked his lunchbox and plucked out his chopsticks.

"Hyung!"

Who did he betray, torture and kill in the most horrendous way in his past life to be cursed with such terrible luck that makes hell seem like heaven.

"What are you doing back here?" Only Jimin's smiling face is visible from around the corner. And Yoongi drops his hand holding the chopsticks with a sigh.

"None of your business." He says before once again aiming for a bite.

"Come on, don't be such a..." Jimin's voice trails off when Yoongi glares at him. He seem to think for a moment before asking. "Do you want some company?"

"No."

"Are you sure? We can share some food and-"

"No!" Yoongi yells and Jimin fidgets a bit while opening and closing his mouth continuously. "Just leave me alone for s' sake!"

Jimin visibly tried and failed to conceal the hurt on his face and just voiced an 'ok' before disappearing once again.

Yoongi felt guilt build up inside him but forcibly attempted to mute the feeling by stuffing the food in his mouth. But it was somewhat still there, gnawing and scratching.

* * *

After doing karaoke with Namjoon, Hoseok and some of their usual acquaintances, Yoongi strode through the gaming hall at the first floor of the building. The air in the karaoke room had eventually become all warm and stuffy, and the stench of sweaty teenagers had soon become to much for him to bear. Instead he took the elevator down and searched around the slot machines, pool boards and card game tables for something to kill time.

He soon found an old arcade game that didn't claim for much money. He started playing and it managed to grab his attention for a moment. Before a ruckus close by slowly rubbed him out of his focus. He glanced over towards the sound and saw four boys with recognizable school uniforms.

'Amateurs' was all Yoongi thought before he glanced back at the game. It was not unusual to see students with the same uniform as him at this time. But you had to be stupid to still wear it if you were going to cause trouble. Yoongi had learnt that in middle school already. And those boys were high schoolers. It was like robbing a bank and waving with the stolen money outside a police building. Teachers and a group of parents were patrolling the area at night.

He heard some shuffling sounds and then a loud thump resonated in the close-to-empty hall. He looked over once again and saw one of the four boys on the floor while another nudged him with his foot. It only took him a moment to recognize the baby face and black, thick hair of the boy on the floor.

He got somewhat paralyzed for a moment while observing, for once listening in on what was said.

"What do you mean no? If I want something to eat and drink, you better get me something to eat and drink." The other kid, who Yoongi now remember from seeing once or twice in Jimin's class, said while stepping on Jimin's arm. The very arm he tried to use to stand up. He flinched a bit before looking around, searching for someone who could help him.

Yoongi felt his heart skip a beat when Jimin's eyes met his.

Jimin's eyes widened, then he paled, but slowly a deep red blush started creeping up from his neck, over his ears, until his whole face was covered with both color and expression of embarrassment. He started to put some force while trying yanking his arm away.

"Are you listening you little ?"

Yoongi still just stood there when the other guy kicked Jimin's shoulder and one of the two observers took a hold of his arm and yanked him up on two feet.

"Are you going to do what I tell you yet?"

"Yes... yes, just let go of me." He hurriedly said. It was when Jimin took his first step toward the exit that Yoongi finally got a hold of his senses.

"Stop where you are . Are you just going to let people boss you around like that?" Jimin froze and hesitantly glanced, first at Yoongi and then at the trio behind him. He opened his mouth before closing it again. Yoongi rolling his eyes at the action he had seen earlier that day.

"And who the hell are you to tell him what to do?" Yoongi stared at the source of the voice, annoyance showing on his face.

"Exactly what I was going to ask you. Aren't you his classmates?"

"And what makes you think I'd answer you, huh?" The guy took some steps towards Yoongi, who snorted at his attempt of intimidation. He was tall, sure, but left several openings which would make it easy to knock him out. But knowing it was stupid to start a fight at a public place, Yoongi refrained from making a move.

"Because I'm your senior maybe?" Yoongi suspected it was futile, but it was worth a try. He glance toward Jimin, who still looked somewhat embarrassed, and tried to send him a message with his eyes to leave. But the stupid kid was so thickheaded he just looked even more frightened and apologetic.

"You think I care?"

Oh to hell with it.

Yoongi kicked the tall guy in the stomach before rushing past. Turning Jimin and pushing him forward he raced for the exit. Jimin - Yoongi should have known by now how clumsy he was - stumbled on his own feet and Yoongi grabbed the back of his shirt, steadying him upright again as they forced their way through a small crowd at the door and finally managed to get outside.

He ran as fast as his legs could deal with not noticing how Jimin slowly but surely fell back. He just heard a gasp and a small shout before slowing to a stop. He had already guessed the situation before he turned around.

He cursed between heavy breaths and bowed down to grab at his knees. He let his breathing slow down.

"You ers! You thought you could get away, huh? Hey, beat the out of that one." The tall one commanded his lackeys, who charged without a second thought.

Oh well, at least there were no people around here. The lackeys were around Yoongi's height, one with similar body shape, who were the first one to reach. He flew forward, not really knowing what had happened when Yoongi had stepped aside, hooking a leg at the charging foot before it touched ground.

The second one was more buff, he had also slowed to a stop, cautiously putting up hands for defense. Finally someone who had some sense when picking a fight. Yoongi took a sideway stance and mimicked the raised hands. When the other guy rushed forward, shoulder and arm pulling back all the way, Yoongi, still with arms protecting his head, threw a punch from that very angle. Not packed with a lot of power, but quick and accurately his fist met it's target, a small crunch was heard and the guy squealed with hands holding his bloody nose.

Yoongi let out a snort before feeling sharp pain shoot out from his back and through his body. He fell forward on all fours, trying to gain back his breath. His eyes found Jimin in front of him, a bruised cheek and red knuckles. He had apparently tried to fight back, but was now laying flat on the ground with an iron grip on the back of his neck.

Finding his breath again Yoongi took a sharp inhale and forced himself up on unsteady legs, but while turning around he got a punch straight on his cheekbone.

He laughed though, spitting out blood from where the inside of his cheek had scraped against teeth. He heard some wailing from the perpetrator. Most likely for a hurting knuckle. These guys really were amateurs.

The buffer one was still on his knees holding his nose and crying, so Yoongi put all his focus on the other one who looked at him with teary eyes. He doubled over after Yoongi kneed him in the stomach without holding back. Laying on the ground chipping for breath he was left.

The tall guy's face shifted between anger and confusion. He suddenly let go of Jimin and stood up. Yoongi now saw the broken lip and mentally applauded Jimin for actually succeeding with a solid hit.

When he finally was attacked he raised his arms for protection once again. He however didn't expect for the tall one's kick to send him tumbling backwards. When attempting to stand up he felt another kick to the side of his head.

His ears was ringing while he was laying sideways on the asphalt, and he felt like his sense of balance had been sent flying even further than himself. He had been stupid enough to underestimate the tall guy. He had expected him to be on the same level as the other two, but it seemed like there was a reason they followed him.

He felt the sole of a shoe at his side, pressing hard against his ribcage. It disappeared and Yoongi tensed his muscles, getting ready for a kick.

A kick that never came.

Instead he heard a grunt and a thud. Looking up he saw that Jimin had tackled the tall guy, now attempting to hold him down on the ground with a panicked expression and flailing arms. Curses and all kinds of ugly words was thrown at the black haired boy. Yoongi fought to get up on two legs, stumbling over and shoving Jimin aside. He straddled the tall guy, knees pressing down on arms, and punched him hard. This time he brought power into his punch, making sure to draw his arm and shoulder as far back as possible without risk of losing balance.

One punch and the other was knocked out.

Standing up Yoongi looked for the lackeys, who apparently had fled the fight for their own good.

Letting out a sigh he stumbled to the side, almost falling if it weren't for the support of Jimin who had hurried to his side. Silently he had grabbed Yoongi's arm and put it around his shoulder.

"W-we better hurry before someone shows up." He stuttered slightly. Yoongi just nodded and let himself be led away. He winced as the pain finally caught up to him and he let out a small grunt. This apparently alarmed Jimin.

"Are you okay? Does is hurt? Do you need to go to a hospital?" Yoongi held back a chuckle at Jimin's worried expression. To think how he always got annoyed by the younger's constant chattering and now it just amused him. He shook his head to which Jimin responded. "Are you sure? What if you have a concussion or-"

"Stop fussing you idiot."

Jimin just shut his mouth and kept silent for the rest of the walk. They soon reached a door, which Yoongi suspected led to Jimin's home. He raised an eyebrow at the younger who sputtered something about owing him.

He struggled with his keys, probably because of the pained knuckles. And Yoongi grabbed them out of his hand, helping him to unlock the door.

Once inside they tried to make no sound. But it didn't take long before someone shuffled out of a room and a gasp was heard, making them look up at a middle aged woman.

"Jiminnie, what happened dear?" She asked and hurried to her son, taking his face in her hands and turning it in whatever way she could. "You look completely battered and where on earth have you been?"

"I... I was with some guys who asked to hang out... and, well, they told me to do some things for them I didn't want to." Yoongi rolled his eyes at the overly honest boy beside him, it would have been easier and quicker to make up some lie. "But Yoongi-hyung helped me."

Yoongi jerked back a bit when he felt cool hands touching his face.

"Dear boy, you look even worse, why didn't you call the police instead?" She didn't give them any chance to answer before she disappeared into another room.

"Your mom fusses even more than you." Yoongi said before she came back and ushered them into the kitchen. First aid kit in hand.

It was with embarrassed and flushed faces that the boys wounds were treated. Jimin's mom had even made them remove their shirts. She had gasped about the bruise slowly appearing on Yoongi's back.

After being thoroughly - in Yoongi's opinion exaggeratedly - treated, Jimin's mother had made them some food and told Yoongi to stay the night.

Standing in Jimin's room awkwardly, some borrowed t-shirt and shorts in hand, Yoongi first noticed that the junior actually had some impressive muscles. He couldn't help but wonder how someone so built could be so helpless and seemingly weak. He was too tired - more like too cool - to ask and just proceeded with changing clothes.

Jimin got into bed and shuffled to the side, making room for Yoongi. Minutes passed and they lay beside each other quietly.

"Hyung" Jimin broke the silence with a whisper. Yoongi just turned his head to show he was listening. "Are you angry with me?"

"Not really." Yoongi sighed.

"Are you-"

"Yes, I'm sure. Now go to sleep."

It was quiet for a few seconds before...

"Earlier today-"

"Don't think about that, I just lost it so don't worry about it." Yoonmin turned around and made eye contact with Jimin. It was dark, but he could still see the outline of worried puppy eyes. To be honest he was quite surprised that he wasn't annoyed at Jimin anymore. Sure he was still just as talkative, but it felt like he just didn't care anymore.

"I'm sorry for getting you into trouble."

"Don't worry about that either." Yoongi said quietly. Jimin still looked tense though. "No one orders you around but me" he added with a smile. Jimin relaxed and smiled back. "Now go to sleep or your sorry is the next one I'll be beating up." His usual straight and serious expression was back. But Jimin still smiled and pulled the blanket up to cover himself better.

Yoongi started falling asleep when...

"Hyung."

"What!" he exclaimed silently.

"Goodnight."

Yoongi blinked before snorting and pulling his own blanket up, whispering a quiet and embarrassed 'goodnight'.
