Description

It was lazy and unassuming, like clouds crawling over a sweltering summer day’s azurite sky or honey trickling from a jar – or perhaps, more equivalent to Jae Bum when he wakes up in the morning – how Jackson begins to see Yugyeom in an all new light.

More about this ABO Dynamics AU

1. Everyone bears lupine-like characteristics that do not take an actual physical form (ie. they do not transform into wolves).

2. There is no distinction between superior/inferior or major/minor races - A/B/Os make up equal proportions of the population (1/3 each).

3. Mating is monogamous and for life.

4. Betas do not "mate" per se since they don't (can't) knot/mark their partners with bites, but they can and do engage in romantic/physical relationships  with A/B/Os that can be equally as monogamous as Alpha-Omega pairs.

5. The default power rank is Alpha > Beta > Omega but it is not absolute. It is determined by the head Alpha and differs from pack to pack.

6. The concept of having pre-conceived soulmates does not exist - everyone falls in love by choice.

A/N: Truth be told this all but entire spawned from Jackson and Yugyeom's aegyo song on Weekly Idol.

One moment they were in each others' arms, Jackson's slung around Yugyeom's neck and Yugyeom's casually placed around Jackson's waist, noses touching as they made googly eyes at each other, and the next thing I know the thought, "damn, Jackson looks so much like a bottom here." crossed my mind. Like WHUT.

No but seriously, Jackson be taking Wang puppy to a whole new level with those dewy eyes. He might be the one boldly proclaming, "Let's do this professionally. Look at me, look at me." but we all know it's Yugyeom who's silently leading and controlling the situation behind-the-scenes.

 

Y'all can't deny either how Yugyeom's been giving off some major alpha vibes recently, what with him rebelliously not listening to his hyungs anymore and bullying them physically when they try to . Bad boy Yugyeom is bad and too darn hot. How to not see him as an oppa even if he's younger than you!?

Thus birthed the monstrosity that is this fanfic.

 

This is going to be my absolute first time venturing into the world of ABO dynamics so cut me some slack if I don't get some terms or methodology right. I'm basing this entirely off my prior knowledge from fanfic-reading  ;P

Honestly, I'm only here cause you're doing that fact about yourself thing on twitter and said you're the one who wrote the Jackson Wang Guide to Sabres and Fencing Techniques and I was like "Is that the fic I think it is" and had to look it up (seriously that fact telling took such an unexpected turn lol) and then I went to stalk your fics and thisssssss is what I find.

Jackgyeom. I've been LOOKING for Jackgyeom, ever since that moment on Weekly Idol that inspired you to write this (seriously, damn Jackson, those eyes) but theres like... zero. Okay, a bit more than zero, but not much, and not many good ones either. SO.

And not just any Jackgyeom, A/B/O with omega Jackson, I think I'm in love with you ;;

ANYWAY I really like what's going on so far :D You're taking a really unusual spin on Jackson's personality which I really like; I don't think I've ever seen anyone write him quite like that. It's very interesting - and adorable ;; so cute, the talk with Jaebum and Jackson just melting into him, purely platonically, that melted my heart, and blushing shy Jackson gets me every time. On the other hand I like that he has some bite too, like that "Do you mind?" when he walks in on the alpha meeting, cause he's not weak.

Yugyeom on the other hand is someone I totally see as an alpha. Like damn, that boy grew up well. But on the other hand he's still such a kid too, and I love how that shows in this fic. He is still very young after all, and if it's been such a short while since he presented as an alpha, it must be weird for him too. And then suddenly being told to try to get things to work with Jackson. I'mmmm looking forward to see a bit more dominating Yugyeom in this fic. :D
