Chapter 21

CLOSER [HIATUS]

“I’m so proud of you.” Won Woo gave a cute smile to his best friend who was shutting the driver’s side door with a grumpy expression. “You’re being such a good student today.”

“Shut up.” She blurted out. They had just arrived to campus and it was about 9:30am. Since she failed to blow dry her hair last night like he told her to, so he had to straighten her hair for her and that only meant that she had to wake up early so he could do it before he left. But he only agreed to do it as long as she went to campus early with him. Won Woo’s class would be starting soon, but as for Soo Min… her class wasn’t until NOON! “Why did I agree to come with you this morning?” She muttered while pulling her backpack out of the backseat and swung it over her shoulders. “It’s too early to be alive!”

“You’re okay. And you know why.” Won Woo chuckled and watched her stumble her way around the car so they could walk in together. “You told me you’ve wanted to come in early before.”

“Right. I did say that… I think.” She nodded while rubbing her right eye.

“Stop that. You drove us here, I doubt you’re still tired.” He snickered while nudging her with his arm.

“I’m still tired, though.” She whimpered and bumped into him a few times while walking. “How the hell do you and the others do morning classes?”

“Simple. We go to bed on time.” He said while holding open the door for her.

“I went to bed on time!”

“3am is not on time!” He scolded.

“How would you know?!”

“You told me!”

“Oh… I did?” She looked confused and tried to think about it.

“Just forget about it. You’ll definitely be going to sleep on time tonight now that you woke up early.”

“I already want to go home and sleep… is it going to be like this all day?”

“You can always drink some coffee?”

“I don’t like coffee.” She stuck her tongue out. “Energy drinks are a big No No.”

“You’re screwed.” Won Woo gave her a pat on the back and she shrugged him off with a pout. “Definitely not a morning person.” He laughed.

“Are you done?” She sighed. “Go to class already.”

“Fine. You better not go home when I leave.” He pointed a finger at her. “See you in an hour.” He added with a small wave and headed off into the hallway past the cafe area to head to his class.

Soo Min stood there and watched him disappear down the hallway and smiled. He seemed to be in a great mood this morning. She thought. Maybe things really are going well between him and Mingyu? I just wish he could tell me about it, even if it’s just a few words. She sighed and looked towards the student store a couple of feet away from where she was standing. “Maybe I should see if they have anything to give me energy?” She muttered to herself before heading over and entered the store.

After browsing the store for a few minutes, she had a feeling she forgot something and checked her bag. Sure enough, she had forgotten her pencil case when she left the apartment this morning. I must’ve forgot to put it back in my bag when I worked on my assignment a bit last night. Yeah, that was probably why she was up till 3am this morning.

With none of her friends around to lend her theirs, she decided she should just buy a new pencil because she was known to forget to return the ones she borrowed. It was probably why she had so many now and they just had to be in the pencil case she forgot today, all of them, every single one of them. “Ooooh,” she cooed when she saw some plain black ones and reached for them.

“Totally didn't expect you to pick those.” Someone said behind her and she recognized that voice and quickly turned around to see one of the guys from the camping trip. That dog owner, Aron. “You don't like pink or glitter?” He asked while pointing to the other options she had for the pencils.

“I can't like dark things?” She asked innocently. “I picked this because I like it and it matches my black heart and soul.”

“Uh…” he seemed concerned until she laughed.

“I'm kidding!”

“... good.” He sighed with relief. “So you just picked the wrong one, that's it?”

“No.” She shook her head with a small smile. “I don't care for colorful things in the first place.”

“Ah, okay, I see.” He looked like he understood now and it made her laugh, she wondered if he was being serious about her pencil selection or not? Or maybe he was just trying to start a conversation? “Uh… if you don’t mind, uh…” he said before he reached over and touched her hair. She flinched at the sudden action and he gave her an apologetic smile. “Sorry, there was a funny loop of hair sticking out of your ponytail.” He explained.

“Really?” She frowned. Won Woo, that jerk! Why didn’t he say anything?! To think she could trust him with her hair!

“I guess you were in a rush this morning?” He chuckled at her expression. “I know that feel.”

“Well, at least you don’t have to worry about that since your hair is short.” She said while reaching up to touch his styled hair.

lol

“Sorry, I just wanted to see if it was soft or not. Looks like you put a pound of hair gel in it to make it stand up, huh?” She said with a small laugh now that she really looked at his hair. It seemed like something a kid would wear.

“No, I didn’t.” He pouted and touched his little, what almost looked like a mohawk, section of styled hair.

“Ah… must be science.” She muttered and stared at him and thought about what could possibly make it stand without it being stiff or hard to the touch. It was clear she didn’t know a lot about hair styling and what products that were used for it if she didn’t know how to straighten her own hair! Okay, she does know how but she can’t be trusted with a burning flat iron. She always just tied it back if she didn’t have any help from Won Woo. On occasions she would braid it. Today she thought to go with a ponytail, but her noodle arms were always so weak, she had to have Won Woo help her. She wasn’t sure how she got that “funny loop” in her hair that Aron had the urge to fix, but she couldn’t be too bothered thinking about it right now.

“So…” Aron spoke again, gaining her attention. “Can I buy that for you?” He asked with a nervous tone and she quickly got the wrong idea.

“I have a boyfriend.” She blurted out.

“No! That wasn't me hitting on you!” He waved his hands in the air with a frown. “I just wanted to make up for my dog chasing you around this past weekend!”

“Buying a pencil makes up for that?” She raised a brow.

“If I bought you two?” He held up two fingers with a hopeful smile.

“The whole bunch.” She grinned while grabbing the plastic holder that all 17 pencils were in.

“Sure.” He agreed quickly. He followed her to the front to the check out. “What? $17?!” He stared at the digital total. “I thought they were 10 cents a peice?” (Again, I’m not Korean and I can’t be bothered converting to Korean currency XD)

“They're a dollar each.” She turned the plastic holder so he could see the full price, he had only seen the number 10 and assumed they were cheap.

“Man, those are some pricey pencils.” He muttered before paying the total. Now he wondered how much the glitter pencils were?

“Thanks.” Soo Min beamed and they headed out the door. “Here, for your friends!” She handed him over 5 of the pencils. “One for you, one for JR, one for Ren and one for the blonde guy who's beckoning you over to that table over there.” She pointed to the cafe area several feet away.

“That makes 4.” He chuckled and was about to hand one back but she shook her head.

“Keep it for the next friend who joins your circle!” She said with a cute smile before turning to leave.

“Wait!” He called after her. “What's your name?”

“Lady Gaga.” She smiled before walking off.

“Are you serious?” He said with a laugh before heading to the table his friend was waiting at once she was gone. “Here.”

“What's this?” The blonde asked utterly confused.

“It's a pencil, duh.” Aron teased.

“I know but I meant why are you giving it to me?”

“Don't think about it, just accept it, man!”

“You're so strange…” the blonde muttered before someone joined their table.

“Well, you know who else is strange? That girl I was talking to. I asked what her name was and she said Lady Gaga.”

“Lady Gaga?! Where?!” Ren almost shouted after taking his seat.

“Chill, Ren, jeez! People are staring now.” Aron whispered behind his hand.

“She must be a fan.” The blonde pointed out.

“Good job, Minhyun, I would have never guessed she was!”

“I don't need your sass this early in the morning.” Minhyun frowned.

“Who are you talking about?” Ren asked and looked quite curious about it.

“That girl from the camping trip. The one Mel chased around.” Aron explained before he started to look at Ren with an intense stare.

“This is my boyfriend, please look elsewhere.” Minhyun put a hand in front of his face.

“It's not like that!” Aron swatted his hand away. “I just noticed that girl looks a lot like Ren.”

“So you noticed it too?” Ren seemed relieved but curious at the same time. “I guess it's possible for other people to look similar to you, right?”

“True, but this doesn't feel like one of those typical ‘oh, a look alike!’ I think you two could totally pass as siblings!”

“Because?” Minhyun was implying for him to state why he thought that way. He hadn’t seen the girl they were talking about just yet.

“Because they look similar and they both like Lady Gaga.”

“That's some solid evidence you got there.” Minhyun teased and Aron pouted.

“Well, you know, he could be right? I was adopted after all…” Suddenly the table fell into an intense silence.

“She's gotta be your long lost sister.” Aron blurted out a moment later. “Call me crazy, but you just jumped in between her and Mel and you're not usually like that. You wouldn't dare break a nail over something like that.”

“Rude!” Ren frowned but now that he thought about it, Aron had a point. “I guess I did feel some sort of need to help her when all of that went down.”

“You should always help someone if they're in trouble!” Minhyun scolded.

“I didn't mean it like that.” Ren pouted. “I meant like the feeling was intense. It felt like I had to do something because that girl was important to me for some unknown reason. I must be crazy, too, but I felt a weird connection with her and the other guy that was there. Like they're linked to me somehow.”

“Maybe because they are…” Aron said in a small creepy whisper. “You should try to look up your real family, they might actually be a part of it.”

“But it was a closed adoption.” Ren pointed out. “That was 21 years ago.”

“Don't give up before even trying!” Aron scolded. “I'm sure your mom might have some hints you can go off of. Like names or pictures… you deserve to know who they are, at least.”

“Aron’s right.” Minhyun was in agreement.

“I guess I could ask my mom about it this weekend.” Ren said before looking down at his phone on the table.

“You can take your time. No rush. By the way, here.” Aron placed one of the black pencils on his phone. “From Lady Gaga.”

“Pfft. Thanks.” Ren had to smile at that comment. Too bad it wasn't from the real Lady Gaga, but then again it was probably from someone special now.

...

“Morning, hyung!” Mingyu greeted when Jeonghan entered the classroom. The girls who were chatting with him also turned to greet Jeonghan and one of them instantly noticed he didn’t seem to be in a good mood. She asked if he was alright and he responded once he took his seat next to Mingyu.

“It’s nothing, I’m fine. Just didn’t sleep that well last night.” He assured them before pulling out his text book. “Let me know when class starts.” He said to Mingyu before he plugged in a pair of headphones and opened his book to skim over the chapter they would be going over today.

“Is he sick?” Another girl asked and Mingyu shrugged before looking at Jeonghan to see if he had any visible symptoms. Usually someone who didn’t sleep well would look tired, but he looked just fine. If anything… he just looked angry. But at what? At who?

Shortly after, class started. Mingyu managed to focus on the lecture in case Jeonghan wasn’t able to. He could let him copy his notes later. There were a few moments when their instructor left the room to fetch something from his office and told the class to finish reading the chapter they were on. Mingyu was really concerned about Jeonghan and pulled out his phone to send a text to Won Woo.

Won Woo: What are you doing, I’m in class?!

Mingyu: Then don’t reply! :o

Won Woo: What is it?

Mingyu: Jeonghan was in a bad mood when he came into class earlier, I was wondering if you knew anything about it? :(

Won Woo: I don’t.

After getting a reply from Won Woo, he heard Jeonghan sigh next to him and that’s when he noticed that Jeonghan was also texting someone. It was really brief, but he could see that he was texting Soo Min judging by all the hearts surrounding the contact name. Jeonghan sat his phone on the table so he could pull up his bag and Mingyu shamelessly glanced at the conversation.

Soo Min: It was nothing! Forget about it.

Jeonghan: Why are you being like this, I just asked!

Soo Min: Because I told you it was nothing!

Soo Min: Stop pestering me about it!

Soo Min: Focus on your class!

Soo Min: You’ll get kicked out for using your phone at this rate.

Jeonghan: I don’t care. I’m leaving anyway.

Jeonghan: Meet me at the front.

Soo Min: No.

Soo Min: Finish class. We’re not talking about this anymore.

Jeonghan: Meet me at the front.

Soo Min: No.

Soo Min: Don’t text me anymore.

Soo Min: Bye.

“What?” Jeonghan’s bitter voice asked after he covered his phone screen with his hand and caught Mingyu’s attention.

“Sorry.” Mingyu apologized and faced forward. He figured they could talk later. With that, Jeonghan grabbed his phone and book and started to head to the front.

“Where are you going?” Some of the girls asked, worry clear in their tones.

“Not feeling well, heading home early.” He simply said without sparing them a glance. Then he was out the door.

Mingyu: I think Jeonghan and Soo Min are fighting…

Won Woo: About what?

Mingyu: I don’t know, I accidentally looked at his phone.

Mingyu: He seems pissed and told her to meet him in the front.

Won Woo: Don’t worry about it. I’m sure it’ll blow over quick.

Mingyu: Are you sure?

Won Woo: I’m sure. It’s not really our business anyway.

Mingyu: True. I’m just worried :(

Won Woo: I know you are. But it’ll be okay.

Won Woo: Thanks for caring about them. That makes me happy

Mingyu: Of course! I’ll focus on class now. See you at lunch? :D

Won Woo: Sure. :)

Despite Mingyu was really worried about his friends, Won Woo was right, it wasn’t any of his business so he should just let them be. He trusted that Won Woo knew what he was talking about since he’s known the two longer than him. For the rest of the class period, he took as many notes as he could to help Jeonghan with later.

“You were still coming to the front despite you told me you weren’t?” Jeonghan asked with a hint of bitterness in his tone when his girlfriend showed up in front of him. He had just come out of the main building from the exit near the cafe to head to her building. They crossed paths and stepped away to the side of the building where not many students were walking around, but that wouldn’t last for long when classes end soon.

“I didn’t want you coming to the computer lab and make a scene.” She said bluntly before folding her arms. “So, what? What do you need to meet me for?”

“Can we leave?” He asked calmly.

“Leave?”

“Let’s go somewhere else.” He pointed over his shoulder and was implying they leave in her car.

“What are you talking about? I still have class at noon!”

“So. Forget about it.” He said while reaching out to take her hand into his. She was too focused on looking down to notice that dejected expression on his face when he said it.

“No.” She swiped her hand from his and turned away. “I’m not skipping class just because you got jealous over nothing.” Her words were harsh and Jeonghan felt like total . She was right, he shouldn’t keep her from important things like class because of his selfish behavior.

“Right. I’m sorry.” He managed to mutter out.

“Look, I understand what you saw would definitely make you jealous. And I’m sorry that I’m not that much of a social person, so I did something that most people wouldn’t do because I was curious. But that’s all it was, okay. I’ll never touch another man’s hair like that again.”

“It’s not just about the hair. You looked really interested in him…”

“I was curious about what product he used in his hair!” She exclaimed and finally turned around to face him. He looked so upset and it broke her heart. “I don’t know what to say or do to make you feel better about what you saw. Maybe you should go touch another girl’s hair or something so we can be even?”

“No.” He looked at her and his expression started to turn bitter again. “It doesn’t work like that.” A moment later, other students started to pass by, alerting classes were dismissed.

“I’m gonna leave before we say things we regret.” Soo Min said calmly before passing him to leave, but he stopped her by the arm. “Let go.”

“No. Can’t we leave and talk somewhere else before your class starts?” He was starting to become stubborn and she hated it when he acted like this. It always freaked her out since she wasn’t sure what to say or do to handle it. She hated fighting with him and she hated getting into serious talks with him. It was something she struggled with a lot.

“No, not right now. Can it wait till classes are over?”

“You’ll forget.” He said with a sigh.

“Wouldn’t that be better if we just forget about it? I mean… it’s kind of stupid when you think about it.” This was one of the things she was going to regret saying.

“My feelings are stupid, is that it?” Jeonghan let go of her and gave her the most disappointed look.

“I didn’t say that.” She frowned. “Quit assuming things, you’re being an !” And just like that, the name calling came back at him like Karma. He wondered if Won Woo told her what he said to him when they were lost?

Before Jeonghan could say anything in reply to that, someone interrupted. “Hey, watch your language.” Jihoon scolded and came up to them. He didn’t have to ask what was going on, it was clear to him after he just heard her call Jeonghan a name. “I know I shouldn’t intervene, but I’m going to. Go cool off before you do something stupid.” He said before he grabbed Soo Min by the wrist and started to lead her away from Jeonghan.

Jeonghan was about to follow after them and tell Jihoon off for butting in, but someone also held him back. “Let go!” He almost shouted but paused when he saw Mingyu and Won Woo standing there.

“Hyung, I’m sorry for stepping in, but you really shouldn’t go after them when you’re angry like this.” Mingyu said. He looked beyond worried. “We should go eat lunch.”

“I’m not hungry.” Jeonghan said bitterly after Mingyu let go of his arm.

“Shut up and come with us.” Won Woo said bluntly.

“Uh, you shouldn’t talk to him like that.” Mingyu whispered.

“Trust me, I know what I’m doing.” Won Woo assured him before looking towards Jeonghan again. “Let’s go.” There was a moment of silence before Jeonghan clicked his tongue and took a step towards the door so they could leave. “You’re buying.” Won Woo added and Jeonghan scoffed at that.

“What were you two fighting about?” Jihoon asked once they made it to the computer lab where her classes were held.

“I don’t want to talk about it… because it’s so stupid.” She replied with a frustrated sigh.

“I don’t mean to be rude, but it figures it’d be over something stupid.”

“I hate this. His birthday is this weekend. I don’t want to be fighting with him!” She complained and let her head rest on the table. “I already explained what happened and apologized but he just won’t let it go.”

“So he’s being a stubborn ?”

“I can’t call him that but you can?” She pouted at him.

“You shouldn’t say bad things about your boyfriend. He’s not my boyfriend so I can.” He snickered.

“He’s getting jealous over things that are nothing again.” She finally admitted. “I feel terrible. I don’t do things to intentionally make him jealous, but he gets jealous somehow. I guess I shouldn’t get too mad. I understand he has his insecurities after being wronged by some of his past girlfriends, but I really doubt I’m that kind of girl, right?”

“You’re not, but he probably can’t help it.” Jihoon didn’t know a lot about his friends, but he knew enough to help them in times of need like this.

“Great, now I feel like the .” She sighed and covered her face with her hands. “What’s he doing with a girl like me who can’t even act proper in society?” She let her head drop on the table. “She can’t even straighten her own hair…”

“It’ll be okay once you meet with him later.” Jihoon said and gave her a gentle pat on her shoulder. When other classmates started to pile in, he decided it was time he left so she could focus on class. “Text me later.” He said before officially leaving. Soo Min managed to push her ty feelings aside so she could pay attention to her lecture, but she couldn’t stop thinking about how her boyfriend must be feeling right about now. She hoped he wasn’t alone and beating himself up about it.

“Are we going to talk about it?” Jeonghan asked in dejected tone while staring down at his food in front of him. Won Woo had taken them out to eat instead of them eating on campus today.

“About you and Soo Min?” Mingyu asked to clarify. The older nodded.

“We don’t have to.” Won Woo said before taking a bite of his cheeseburger. “No need to push yourself.” He added with a full mouth.

“You’re disgusting.” Jeonghan scowled and looked away when Won Woo opened his mouth for Jeonghan to see more. Mingyu couldn’t help but let out a small laugh when he saw that.

“If you want to talk about it, we can talk about it.” Mingyu managed to say. Jeonghan looked at him before looking to Won Woo who was now focused on eating.

“Well, I guess I can talk to you.” He said with a small sigh. “I can’t ever talk to him since he isn’t good with this kind of thing. They both aren’t. Not even Jihoon.”

“Are you trying to talk behind my back?” Won Woo asked with a small glare. “Because I can clearly hear you.”

“So, who cares.” Jeonghan rolled his eyes before he focused on Mingyu. “They don’t talk about things. If it’s something personal, they just tell a joke and move on.”

“When did this become about me and my friends? I thought this was about you?”

“It’s okay. Just let him talk.” Mingyu said in a calm voice and gently touched Won Woo’s shoulder. That got him to still in his seat and shut up. Jeonghan noticed that and snickered before he continued to talk.

“I only brought it up because that’s what was going on earlier. I wanted to talk to her but she told me no. She said later but I know by then she’d forget and get mad when I ask her about it again.”

“I see.” Mingyu nodded.

“I don’t like it. I don’t like it when they don’t talk.” Jeonghan hadn’t meant to be so open about this with Won Woo nearby, but he couldn’t help it. He was venting now. “I never know what’s going on because of that. It’s frustrating. I just want them to be a little more open with me.”

“Well, excuse me for struggling with that.” Won Woo said bitterly and put his cheeseburger down. “It’s not like I don’t try.” He sounded a bit hurt. So, that’s what it was...

“Uh, should we talk about something else now?” Mingyu panicked. He didn’t want those two to start fighting as well!

“Won Woo…” Jeonghan suddenly said seriously, “I love her. A lot. But it’s difficult when you and I don’t get along. I know you two will probably be by each other’s side until the day you die because of your strong bond. So, I thought that camping trip would have helped but it hardly did much. You still treated me like after it all.” Won Woo remained quiet and didn’t have anything to say in reply, but he looked affected by those words. “I really don’t know what it is that you hate so much about me, I try so hard to change it, yet, I don’t even know what it truly is that you hate.”

“I hate when you upset her over the stupidest .” Won Woo blurted out. “Maybe you can’t help it because of what your other girlfriends did, but I hate how you let that affect your relationship with her. She’s nothing like the girls you’ve dated, so I hate how you would even doubt her for a second. I still don’t understand all that love bull but you have no idea how much she cares about you and then you turn around and make a big deal about the stupidest things. I hate that. We’re not very good at expressing ourselves with words and sometimes it feels like you don’t even try to understand her, sometimes you don’t even listen to her because of the way she words things. I guess you’ll never understand her like you promised back then. It just pisses me off so much that you would even do something like that, you have someone who loves you to the moon and back yet treat her like that. There are probably a ton of people out there who will never have that kind of love and here you are, screwing it all up!” Won Woo was clearly pissed when his voice started to rise. “Can’t you appreciate the love you have?! You have friends who supported you when your parents moved away, you have an amazing girlfriend who also loves and supports you with all she has. I wish I could have all that love and support, too! You have so much going for you and all I really have is her. But I can’t be selfish and keep her to myself, I have to share her love and support with you… So can you stop screwing it up?!” (yo, dudes I legit teared up writing this part)

“Why are you talking to me now compared to every other time?” Jeonghan asked with hurt expression. Won Woo stopped and looked to Mingyu who had been watching and listening to them with a worried look on his face.

“I don’t know.” He said softly, he felt so angry after saying all of that and honestly felt like he could burst into a fit of tears, his emotions were running so high, but he had to remain calm. “I’m done talking to you.” He got up from the table and left out of the restaurant. Mingyu wanted to go after him, but he didn’t want to leave Jeonghan alone. He could always call for a cab to get back to campus with Jeonghan.

“I’m sorry.” Mingyu apologized.

“It’s fine. At least he was honest with me.” Jeonghan gave a sad smile. “Even though it hurt to hear that.”

“I wish there was more that I could do.”

“Don’t worry about it.”

“Bu-”

“Mingyu, it’s fine.” Jeonghan chuckled. “But I suppose the least you could do is check up on him and make sure he’s okay. I’ve noticed that he seems to be more open with you. Maybe that’s why I got so angry… they opened up to you but not me.”

“Really?” Mingyu was a bit shocked to hear that, he recalled the times the two would tell him something from their past and he’d bring it up to Jeonghan in their conversation. He never seemed bothered by it when it was mentioned at the time.

“Yeah, but it’s okay. As long as they’re being open with someone.” He could tell Jeonghan was a bit reluctant to say that and he understood. He must’ve felt slightly betrayed.

He could remember how Won Woo talked to him last night over texts and even in person. He expressed how he was worried about Jeonghan and how he had told Soo Min about losing his bracelet. He felt so happy to see Won Woo opening up to him more, talking to him more, but then he felt bad that while he was doing that with Mingyu, he wasn’t doing that with Jeonghan who wished for that.

For once, Mingyu wasn’t sure what to say to Jeonghan and remained quiet for the rest of their meal. They were able to finish eating their food before they paid and left, Mingyu paid for it since he felt like he should. They've paid for his meals recently so he should do the same. A cab was called and they headed to the campus right after.

“Are you okay?” A voice of a concerned older woman called out to Won Woo who was sitting on a bench in the park. He had went there shortly after leaving Mingyu and Jeonghan at the restaurant so he could calm down and collect himself. He didn’t think he could go to class with so many emotions building up inside his chest.

“Sorry, I’m fine.” Won Woo managed to say with a small sniffle and quickly wiped his tears. This was the part he didn’t like about opening up and talking about his feelings. He hated being upset, he hated being angry, he hated crying. If he could just never feel those feelings ever again, he’d be okay with that.

But he knew full well that there was no such thing as always being happy.

He knew you couldn’t be happy if you weren’t sad before. It was just how life works. One thing couldn’t exist without another. Happiness couldn’t exist without sadness and light couldn’t exist without darkness. So, when he felt happy these past few days, he knew something was going to go wrong, but he so badly wanted to believe that everything would go smoothly for once, but it didn’t… like always. There was always something that had to happen.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” The woman took a seat next to him on the bench and gently rested a hand on his shoulder in hopes it would comfort him.

“I’ll be fine.” He managed to say in a small shaky voice before looking up at her. She was beautiful, insanely beautiful yet… she also looked a little familiar. Like he's seen her somewhere before?

“I hope so, tears don’t suit a handsome young man like you.” She flashed him a bright smile and caught another tear that fell down his cheek. For some reason, she reminded him of his mother before she got so busy with work. That kind and caring mother tone in her words and expression… it made him want to cry all over again. “It’s okay to cry, just let it all out, sweetie.” She cooed and pulled him into a motherly hug.

It was too much and Won Woo became a sobbing mess and clung onto the woman like she was his own mother. It was so strange to him, how she showed up so suddenly and how he felt so close to her simply because she stopped to comfort him as she was passing by. “I’m so happy we got to meet today, Won Woo.” She said softly while comforting Won Woo who was too busy crying in her arms.

Who was that woman who showed up and comforted Won Woo?

You can make a guess, but you won’t know if you’re correct until more of the story unravels!

As far as the continuation I think it would be ok since you will be updating a few months from now. Right now it would seem a little weird, but I don't think it will be bad later. Go with your heart though.
