Jaebum flashes a mismatched smile, his sharp eyes narrowed and black orbs clouded with bad  things Mark cannot fathom. Mark doesn’t know what he feels, whether it’s hatred or fear, regret or pity, and he doesn’t want to find out.

“...because I know the only thing that can hurt you, is his pain. I am going to hurt him, Mark. I am gonna make him feel what I felt.”

Jinyoung slides his hands away from Jaebum’s hold. The older wants to grab it back and secure it inside the warmth of both of his palm, but his fingers catch on the empty air instead. Jinyoung smiles, but Jaebum doesn’t see the adorable crinkles of his doe eyes. Jinyoung’s eyes are so clear, but Jaebum always wonder why do those eyes make Jinyoung looks sad—as if he’s losing a battle he knew he’d never win.

“There is nothing left in me for you to love, Jaebum.”

Jackson likes the way Jinyoung talks when he’s cleaning—sort of amazing, though, how excellent he is with brooms and vacuums as if it’s his college major. And how he’s concerned about Jackson’s love life, throwing hypothesis per hypothesis about why does Mark look so cold and how they haven’t even kissed after their first anniversary. 

“But I know he loves you, Jacks.” he said, and Jackson desperately wants to believe with every ounce of fiber in his whole being. But who is he kidding? Maybe Jinyoung is too innocent to take a notice, but Jackson is not a fool himself.

Jackson laughs dryly, “...Jinyoung, I am the biggest agreement he ever had in his life.”

Mark noticed how Jackson practically drenched although they share an umbrella. He also noticed Jackson’s voice gets shaky when he talk without any pause as they walk back to the dorm through heavy rain. It’s midnight when Mark finishes his paintings and stubborn Jackson decided to wait for him in the studio. Jackson walks Mark to his shared room with Jinyoung and say goodbye before going to his own room.

“You don’t have to do this, you know.” Mark said, his eyes are empty and suddenly Jackson’s smile disappear. “Please don’t love me this much, Jackson.”
