EXTRACT: One day he opened a magazine and he read about scientists coming up with new
theories about dogs. They were hypothesizing that those buddies could see in color too. Bobby
remembers bitterly calling it bull. He recalls throwing the magazine almost immediately. That—
that was impossible. Like, Bobby, as cruel and pathetic as it may sound, had adopted Charlie
because he and Charlie were—are —so alike: they both have pretty much nothing except themselves, and in a world where everyone is moving on to the next multichromatic level, he and Charlie get left behind, looking at each other, at their lives and commiserating. Bobby knows perfectly that he's beeing pathetic (we've already stated that), but nobody can deny that it always feels better to know that you're not alone.
