Memory 47

You Said Remember Me

“Your body’s sure in good shape,” Heechul mocked, “I mean after that hit and run accident you were involved in. I wouldn’t be surprised if you have to go back to the hospital.”

“Are you worried?” Donghae asked.

Heechul just smiled in reply and turned away from Donghae leaning to his left as if he were watching someone.

“What are you doing here?” Victoria’s voice came.

Donghae turned around and in unison with Heechul asked, “Want to go out for lunch?”

A bit of surprise lit her face while Donghae turned to look at Heechul who had breached their agreement from earlier.

Victoria glanced at them one more time before opening the door to In Ji’s office, “You want to go with me for lunch?”

“Sorry…I sort of have a date tonight,” In Ji replied.

“Date?” Victoria repeated.

In Ji nodded.

“Are you seeing someone?” questioned Victoria.

“I’ve been seeing him for a month already.” In Ji answered.

“How come I didn’t know?” Victoria asked.

“I’ll introduce you two sometime, he’s really interesting. You two will get along well because he’s also Chinese,” In Ji said excited.

“Oh?” Victoria said. “Really? Sounds good. Let me see him sometime and I can help you critique him.”

In Ji smiled before Victoria closed the door to her office wondering how she’d deal with Heechul and Donghae. When she turned back to face them both their expressions were eager.

“I already had lunch. Why don’t the two of you go out together?” Victoria suggested walking into her office quickly packing her stuff before walking back out.

“Do you want a ride back?” Heechul asked before she walked pass him.

Victoria paused and turned to look at him suddenly making Donghae feel nervous.

“I promised you lunch last time, right?” Victoria asked. “I suddenly just remembered that. Next time you stop by lets go out then, sorry.”

“Oh…it’s fine,” Heechul said with a small smile before she walked away.

Donghae looked at him feeling sympathy for him but instead walked over stopping beside him so that they were shoulder to shoulder.

“Looks like I’ll take the lead today,” Donghae told before walking on.

Just as he walked out the doors he noticed Victoria opening the door to a cab by the street. Hurrying over he closed the door, took her arm, and led her to a car he had left in the lot.

“What are you doing?” she questioned loudly suddenly confused at what was happening. “Lee Donghae!”

When he stopped by the car he took her bags from her and tossed her some keys. Victoria caught the keys feeling shocked and glanced at Donghae before he nodded toward the car. Glaring at him she finally turned to look at the car immediately recognizing it.

“What…” she started turning back to him.

“Aren’t I great?” he asked with a chirpy smile.

“How’d you get my car back?” Victoria asked.

“You have to tell me I’m great first.”

Victoria made a disgusted face at him before unlocking her car. Opening the two doors on her side she looked inside the car to find everything new as if it were a new car.

“Isn’t it nice? I just picked it up today after repairs were done,” Donghae explained opening the door on the other side.

“How much?”

“That, you don’t need to worry because I wasn’t the one who paid.”

“I knew you were cheap.” she commented before getting in the car. “It’ll feel great to drive freely again.” Victoria said admiring her new wheel then turned to Donghae who had taken the passenger’s seat. “Where's your car then?”

“That?” he paused then smiled. “Of course I got it back. Don’t you think you owe me lunch now?”

“Fine,” Victoria nodded starting the car. “Since I’m happy lets go for lunch.”

Donghae turned to look at her feeling content. Even though it had been a month since he had confessed and hadn’t stopped bothering her for even a second and Victoria hadn’t quite responded the way he wanted her to, he felt happy. At least their relationship had gotten a lot better.

Hee Sun ran into the bathroom, dropped her bag onto the ground, and dug out a pregnancy tester she’d purchased at dawn. If the reason why she’d been feeling so weak and sick the past few weeks were because she was….then…then what? But she needed to know. Because there was no one she could trust…or more specifically rely on…she needed to know before she made a final decision.

“I met with Il Chung and Sandy’s fathers yesterday,” Donghae informed, “there wasn’t anything helpful they knew, so this case is at a dead end right now.”

“So what are you doing? Waiting for a lead to pop up?” Victoria asked grabbing some of her fries.

“Well…yea. I’m also going to make a trip back to the Min Apartments,” Donghae told, “do you want to come along?”

“Not interested,” Victoria replied not even looking at him.

“Are you sure?”

Victoria raised her head to look at him with a small glare, “Don’t drag me into this unless you have to.”

“Fine,” Donghae told. “Am I paying for today’s meal?”

“Since you’ve done some good for me I’ll pay,” Victoria nodded her head.

Victoria had walked out first fumbling her hand into her pocket for her keys and almost tipped over when Donghae ran against her locking his arm against her neck.

“What the heck are you doing?” Victoria asked glaring at him.

“Why? Are you going to knock your head into mine like last time?” he smirked.

“Get off me,” Victoria ordered with an angry tone.

“You’re no fun,” Donghae said letting go of her. “Eunhyuk always plays with me.”

“Eunhyuk is Eunhyuk, don’t play stupid with me,” Victoria stated. “Should I leave you here or drop you off?”

“You already know the answer and you still bother to ask?” Donghae asked.

“Oh! Professor!” a voice shouted.

Both Donghae and Victoria turned to see a tall young man dressed in khakis and a plain t-shirt walking toward him. His hair wasn’t too long or too short and he had the face of someone who could make even cheap clothes look branded. He had the features of a strong man but the excited smirk on his face told Donghae something else and he couldn’t help but watch the young man walk over. He glanced at Donghae with a small bow then turned to Victoria with all smiles on his face.

“Professor, do you remember me?” he asked.

Victoria stared at him.

“Kyuhyun, Cho Kyhuyun!” he pointed to himself.

Victoria stared at him blankly again then her face became excited as well, “Ah! Kyu!”

Donghae watched them with a small frown wondering if Victoria had forgotten about him. He quietly cleared his throat but they didn’t seem to hear him.

“I didn’t know you came to Seoul,” she said lightly hitting him on the shoulder, “are you finally going to university now?”

He nodded quickly, “I see you around sometimes but you look so busy I can’t even catch up to you in time when heading for class.”

“Ah…how’s your semester going? Are you still studying biology?” asked Victoria.

“Of course! After all those three years of you tutoring me I wouldn’t give it up.” he replied.

“Tutor?” Dongahe repeated quietly.

Kyuhyun finally turned to him nodding, “In high school Victoria tutored me in biology for three years until she graduated before me. I heard she was teaching somewhere but I was never able to find her.”

“Victoria?” Donghae repeated the fact that he called her casually but just her name…like he did.

“Yea, we were classmates but she was my sunbae,” Kyuhyun explained.

“Oh…” Donghae managed and caught a strange glance from Kyuhyun.

Victoria laughed waving his attention away from Donghae, “Don’t mind him. He’s always nosey.”

“Really?” Kyuhyun said then turned back to Donghae. “I forgot to introduce myself, sorry for being impolite. My name’s Cho Kyhyun.”

Donghae stared at his extended hand then shook it, “Lee Donghae, criminal investigator.”

“Whoa!” Kyuhyun shouted. “Really? That’s so cool! Victoria I didn’t know you were that awesome! Getting acquainted with a criminal investigator?”

“Not acquainted.” she corrected.

“We are,” Donghae said nodding his head.

Victoria turned to frown at him, “No, not close enough to be acquaintances.”

“We are, that’s why we had lunch together,” Donghae pointed out.

“Because you got my car back so I was being nice,” Victoria told him off.

Kyuhyun laughed breaking them up, “Professor, I should get going. I’ll see you sometime around campus.”

“Ah, yes. Lets meet sometime and catch up,” Victoria added.

Donghae watched them take 5 more minutes saying their farewell and heard himself giving them sarcastic remarks mentally. When he finally walked away he watched her turn to him.

“What was that?” she asked.

“What was what? I didn’t do anything wrong,” Donghae shrugged. “Unlock the door.”

“Why?!”

“Well…aren’t you giving me a ride?”

Chapter 88: Wow :o I can't believe I spent my entire day in bed reading this! When I saw the number of chapters this has, I thought it would take me at least a few days to finish this. Guess I was wrong. This is your second full-length story that I've read. It definitely had a different writing style from Defence but after a few chapters, I quickly adjusted. I was hooked at around chapter 10. My review is not going to do this story justice, so I will end it soon. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the plot and romance were explored very well. Don't ever stop writing!

Chapter 87: i've just finishing read the whole chapter in two days..it's worth it. actually i don't really ship haetoria pair much after reading their kingdom panorama because the character is make me annoyed especially donghae. but, as i read the whole chapter i just love the way you describe their own character with the way they talk or act, so does donghae :)
you're doing a great job giving a detail to every act that the character does do that there's nothing left hanging, altough at some chapter when vic and donghae getting serious in relationship the whole story turn into more drama situation. it's good but it keep bugging me that the stalker been quiet for some time and wonder when he'll come back. as for another character like hee sun,i think it's good addition, her immature act made the story more interesting and hearbreaking. and i feel sorry for heechul, at the begining i think he'll became main character but in the end his part is getting smaller..but overall it is a very good one. i'll wait for another great story, while keep waiting on "3 ways " thank you for sharing :D
