Jongin's heartbeat was going crazy. His feet were planted to the floor, he couldn't move. Had it been two years? No, maybe more since they had last seen him. But, there was no way. There was no way. They saw him die, didn't they?

KEY NOTES

Ancients - ancient celestial beings that is said to be the beginning of all power and magic. Their souls were used to create weapons during the War and they can only be weilded through a contract with a vessel. 

Balkans - soldiers trained at a young age and forced loyalty to the throne. Humans who are found to wield extraordinary abilities were kidnapped and required to serve in the army. Abilities are classified under Ranks I-III, from strongest to weakest.Among those, there is a special class - those who were genetically modified to have abilities - called the Zeros. These soldiers are the highest of all ranks. Rank Zeros are usually used as assassins or assigned under the King's guard. 

Creans - an extinct race known to possess supernatural abilities. They were wielders of artifacts known as Ancients with the ability to enhance their powers during battle. Due to their unlimited potential, many were considered a threat to the Kingdom and erased while others went into hiding as rebels against the tyranny of the Karnal King.

Kh'al - beasts bred from Crean blood, created to serve under the King's private army. These ruthless creatures are genetically modified to be emotionless and have an extreme threshold for pain. Under the King's command, they are released a few times a year to every corner of the Kingdom to hunt for potential Balkan recruits. 

Tracers - humans who have traded their soul  to the King and function similar to hound-dogs. They also possess a frightening ability only known to those who have not lived to tell the tale. 

AUTHOR'S NOTE

Please note that this is a fan fiction based on EXO's OT12 group and loosely influenced by their first music video "Mama". This story will mainly center around Kai and Baekhyun's journey and the other member's significant roles in their lives.

The plot is primarily action and settled in an alternate universe.
