We Still Have It

Next Stop, You

~~~~~
If there was one thing she didn’t understand, it was why Jongin had chosen her. Even now, she would never be able to comprehend how or why he’d easily fallen for her dumb lie or why it even worked. But he was here with his body and mouth speaking to her in perpetuating ways.
Breath ragged she gasped for air when his lips trailed across her face to nibble her ear. An arm propped against her head to not crush the living daylights out of her. His other running down her buttock and down the length of her thigh. The meager hand sweeping her body, traveling, and touching. An anguished noise vibrated from the back of and she closed her eyes when he dreamily kissed her again, his lips desperate and powerful. Her lower legs tensed as he moved his lower body into her and felt her feet rub against his calves.
Her mind was a spiraling blaze, pulsing and alive in a way it had never been before. It wasn’t as if she didn’t know what Jongin wanted, and he probably would get it. Her heart, a spinning leaf in a pod, couldn’t seem to rid of him.
“You…still like him?”
Yes, she still liked Jongin. She was the same idiot she’d always been. The depression that lurked in her shadows those two years had been because of him. Not a day had passed without him sneaking around in her head. She had wept after pawning her wedding ring, and when she finally had enough money to go for it it was no longer there, and she ended up weeping some more. Jongin had been her depression and he had been her tears. She’d lost of all Jongin abroad, all but the memories that continued shredding her heart to pieces.
Namjoo had sunk to the lowest grounds of darkness while trying to make a new life for herself. That new life was nothing but a lie. Forgetting hadn’t been as easy as she’d imagined. She hadn’t moved a foot from the moment she stepped out of this house to the moment she believed she loved Jongin. And she feared that if she made any reckless decision, she would end up hurting herself again.
What if she only became more depressed over him? What if, in the end, Jongin decided he did hate her and didn’t want her anymore?
The thoughts dispersed when Jongin’s lips disappeared from hers. Opening her eyes she discovered him staring down at her with eyes like gems. Then his hand slid across her face to hold her gently. Her heart throbbed with joy and exploding affection. He was perfect just as he’d always been. A gorgeous man. The person who kept her heart lit. The one man she’d given a large portion of her heart to.
A helpless smile spread across her lips. Jongin was so mesmerizing she couldn’t restrain herself. He was so important to her. The deepest parts of her soul fluttered as if he had somehow reached a hand inside her to the inner parts of her invisible to the eye. Jongin smiled and leaned in to press a soft peck on her lid. The touch was soft, promising, and gentle. Just like him. In that sudden moment she thought of how irreplaceable he was and her yearning for him heightened threefolds.
Namjoo had missed him dearly the two years she spent away from him. Wishing on many nights to wake up to him beside her and that when she woke he would be the first she’d see. And if time traveling was possible, she would go back to treasure and embrace what they’d had.
But she couldn’t go back.
Jongin’s hypnotizing kisses breached her lips, lulling her body into the mood he wanted her to be in. Heat boiled inside her stomach, threatening to combust when his hand raked up her shirt. His large hand caressed her waist as he moved over her. A deep breath shot out of when his lips traveled across her jaw sensually nibbling.
The urge to pull his shirt out of his pants overwhelmed the strength in her hands. Namjoo managed to pull the tucked shirt out and was halfway there before she ended up clawing her nails into his clothed back when hesitance enveloped her. Jongin’s wet kisses continued when their lips joined again. Heat washed over her in passionate ways that had her writhing under him. Moving up into him allowed her to feel his brush her. In the next instant her mind whirled. Fire burned between her legs.
Her s heaved up into him as she sought for breath. Her head tilted back into the mattress when he kissed her chin, moved to its underside, down her neck and toward her collarbones. Through the sweaty silence corrupted by their heavy breathing and cries they managed to keep quiet. She could feel the pumping of his heart through the thick of his chest and hear him humming through kisses while his hands ravaged her body like no tomorrow.
There was a knock on the door when he latched onto her lips again. They ignored it too immersed in each other. Imagining his flesh on her flesh sent her heart rate soaring. Fingers combed up through his hair with self-control trashed to the side.
“Auntie? Uncle?” the weak banging continued.
Namjoo’s eyes popped open, but Jongin continued to move over her, unwilling to pause. His lips were tempting, seductive, and full with so much passion Namjoo just wanted to keep going. Teasing, he drew back nipping her lips gently smiling as she moved up in a desperate attempt to kiss him. Then grabbing her face between his hands he pushed her back onto the bed, deeply kissing her. All his emotions seeped through and she accepted them…before the pounding on the door resumed.
“Auntie? Uncle? Are you sleeping?”
The perfect atmosphere quavered and Namjoo’s consciousness shot blank through the dark.
“It’s…Jae…geun,” Namjoo managed through intervals of his kisses.
“I know.” He breathed intensely into .
Namjoo’s eyes closed upon his open mouthed kiss that had her stomach boiling with eagerness. Opening her eyes again she touched his shoulder, “We shouldn’t ignore him.”
Pausing, she listened to him heavily sigh not withholding his expression of deep disappointment. Rolling off her onto his side frustrated. Streaked with heat, Namjoo lay there for a moment before clearing as she pushed herself up. Pulling the rest of her shirt over her body she walked toward the door running a hand over her neck, wondering if Jongin might have worked on giving her a mark.
Jaegeun looked up at her when the door opened and glanced inside. “I knew you weren’t sleeping.”
Namjoo pulled on a smile, “Did you need something, Jaegeun?”
Jaegeun nodded then asked, “Can I come in?”
“Oh…uh…sure,” Namjoo said and let him in.
Clutching the large hardcover book to his chest he walked in and stood by the foot of the bed, first eyeing Jongin before turning to look at her. Wide eyes b with innocence. “Did you two fight?”
Namjoo’s first reaction was to frown before she saw the disoriented state Jongin’s shirt was in upon having wrestled it out of his pants. Feigning another smile she said, “We didn’t fight.”
“Then why does it look like Uncle’s crying?” Jaegeun wondered and moved closer to the bed to get a better look at Jongin but Namjoo quickly stopped him.
“Why don’t we go out, Jaegeun?” Namjoo suggested. She quickly added when Jaegeun frowned confused, “Your uncle needs some time to recover.”
“Why?” Jaegeun pressed on without moving.
Conflicted and in a situation Namjoo couldn’t explain to an innocent six-year-old she ransacked her brain. Switching subjects she asked, “Did you want me to read the book to you?”
His eyes lit up and nodding he said, “Yes! Can you?”
Stepping behind him Namjoo placed hands on his shoulders and led him out of the room. Jongin would need to wash up before she returned. Maybe a cold shower would help him, she hoped. Leading Jaegeun to his bedroom Namjoo couldn’t help but feel regretful and sorry toward Jongin. They might have actually had something tonight and she had experienced something she’d long missed.
Namjoo spent a while with Jaegeun admiring the illustrations while slowly reading every paragraph of the book to him. Hearing him laugh and giggle and mimic her delighted her. He suddenly resembled the child he was supposed to be, and she couldn’t help but notice that he had inherited the same charm in his eyes that Jongin had. They were a very good looking family indeed.
Once Jaegeun began drifting off Namjoo set the book aside, adjusted the sheets over him, and walked out of the room. Jongin was fresh in bed in his PJ’s when she returned. Lying on the bed with his back to her. She wondered if he was asleep when she closed the door and walked in. Switching the lights off she climbed into bed. Just as she got under the blanket Jongin turned to look at her.
Calm silence fluctuated between them, the heat now gone. At least that’s what she thought. Namjoo watched Jongin slide up to sit and couldn’t help but revel in the tiny gap between them.
His eyes drove up her face to meet with her eyes and she swore she could hear him saying I want to kiss you.
“Namjoo,” his voice was somber and quiet and he spoke slowly to let her hear the emotion there. “Tonight, can we just kiss? We don’t have to do anything else.”
Was he unable to forget what happened earlier? The sentimental kisses, the urge to go all the way through. The desire to stay up all night?
Namjoo’s heart escalated timidly as she pressed her lips together. She could feel him watching her observantly and had a feeling that if they weren’t standing at opposite poles, he would have grabbed her hand and doused her with his love.
“Ok,” the word slid almost voicelessly through her lips. In the next second the tiny gap between them closed. Something about how the dark lit up the room and hid his full expression was dangerously alluring, made her skin sizzle.
Namjoo watched closely as Jongin parted his lips and met with the half-lidded gaze in his eyes. Her eyes closed when his hands touched the underside of her face affectionately. The kiss started tenderly, cautiously and she didn’t hold back. She fully kissed back and ran her tongue over his lips as she withdrew. Jongin gasped a full shaky breath before pulling her close and in that nanosecond she locked an arm around his neck.
His fingers drove into her hair and captivated in his trance, Namjoo shifted closer until their knees touched, until he urged her legs around his hips. Jongin’s wild kisses traveled up her face and down her neck as she breathed in the musky scent of him and grasped his broad shoulders. He was masculine, the muscles flexing underneath her touch had her heart standing on tiptoes.
Jongin attractive. Jongin perfect.
Skimming her hand alongside his face she kissed the corner of his lips. His willful cry pleasurably drew from his lips into when he leaned into her beckoning her to lie on her back. She could feel the length of his legs between her thighs as she hugged his leg securely. With abated breath she ran her hand down his lower back grazing fingers over his buttocks, hungrily nipping his lips before they turned over and then over again until she was on her belly and he was making love to her back with his lips. Then they turned over again with their legs mingled and arms tangled around each other, sweating and breathing into each other as the night waned on.
When Namjoo awoke at the light of dawn her back was tucked against Jongin’s wide chest, his arm tight around her. Their intense makeout session had had her whole body throbbing as they rolled around, kissed, rubbed, and touched each other. Something fulfilling began to bloom through her as she lay there listening to Jongin breathe beside her. Security, safety, and feeling protected. They were pressed up against each other so closely she could feel the heat emanating off his body into her blood flow. Even now she was still sweating but had no desire to move from this perfect place.
Running a hand over the hand tucked around her waist she laced her fingers through his. Jongin budged before burying his face into her shoulder. With a soulful sigh he sank back into a peaceful sleep and Namjoo closed her eyes to return to dreamland.
~~~~~

Jongin let Namjoo wash up first when they awoke the next morning and untangled themselves from each other in bashful silence. When she stepped back out his breath caught in his throat. Namjoo was still as pretty as the first time he began noticing her. He would draw her into his arms again if possible, but he couldn’t skip out on work.

After a quick wash he dried up, dressed, and patted some cologne on himself before stepping out. Namjoo was just finished buttoning her blouse and their eyes shyly met. His body still tingled with last night’s memories and he couldn’t forget the arms that had wrapped around him or the dazzling kisses he’d gotten. Jongin’s heart skipped beats when Namjoo pushed a strand of hair behind her ear.

At the breakfast table his mother and Jaegeun disappeared from sight the more he became aware of this person beside him. He was electrified, his head spinning, and his mind occupied with Namjoo and Namjoo and Namjoo. Once more he was that young fellow about to complete his degree, who had been foolish and quick in love. Jongin was back at square one with his heart never before so alive. He was thrilled and bombarded with overwhelming happiness too much for him to handle.

Placing some food onto Namjoo’s plate he waited for her to turn and look at him. His heart nearly burst from the joy when their eyes met and he believed it, he’d always known it. He’d always been in love with her. From when Chanyeol claimed he’d pursue her to the moment Namjoo came and confessed. And if he could do it again, he’d find her so much sooner.

~~~~~
“Your faces are glowing,” Jaegeun commented as they walked him out to wait for the bus that morning.
“Are they?” Namjoo asked.
“Mmm!” stopping in his tracks he nodded as he looked up at them. “It means you’re really happy, doesn’t it?”
Jongin smiled and patted his head before spotting the bus on the road, “Your bus is here.”
“Bye uncle and auntie!” he waved with a wide grin as he ran off.
He was right. With Namjoo here, everything was just as it once was. What would he ever do without her?
“Lets go to work together,” Jongin suggested with high hopes. He became gleeful at the thought of Namjoo waking up with him, getting dressed with him, and riding the same car to work. They would be doing everything together, and everything about that sounded so perfect.
“I have somewhere to stop by first,” Namjoo said and the hopes flushed from his face.
“Where? I can take you,” he offered unwilling to part from here when they’d been together all night, bonding, and so happy this morning.
“I won’t be long,” she sounded promising but he still worried because there were meetings today and he would only be able to spend his morning and the early afternoon with her.
“Are you sure?” he tried.
Namjoo nodded, “I’ll see you at work.”
“All right.” He forced himself to say. “Drive safe.”
~~~~~

Namjoo had to be the first to turn away because Jongin’s sad eyes just kept watching her, quietly begging her to give in to him. Where she wanted to go, she didn’t want to bring him. Her business had nothing to do with him and she didn’t want him to become a part of it.

They’d had a good night indeed, but it was daylight now and none of that could be continued when they both had tasks to tend to. Namjoo wasn’t worried because there was much more time to spend with Jongin, to patch up, and make amends.

Joohwan was still at home, so that was where Namjoo stopped by that morning.

“I was about to head in for work when you called,” he said. “Want some coffee?”

“I’m good.”

“I didn’t think you’d stop by so soon.” he poured himself a mug then walked out of the kitchen to join her at the table. “Does this visit have to do with what we talked about?”

Entwining her hands together she nodded.

“So?” he asked. “What is it?”

“I thought about it and I know you’re right.”

“Am I?”

“I want to stay there,” Namjoo confessed. “I still want to find out what I truly want, but I’m sure that it’s Jongin I want in my future.”

“You’re confident?” Joohwan asked. “That it’s Jongin? Not a divorce?”

Namjoo nodded. “I’m certain.”

“You do know that your marriage now won’t ever become what it once was. Things, even relationships are always changing and will always be changing,” Joohwan reminded. “It hasn’t been that long since you’ve returned.”

“I know. I’m still comparing things to the past and I can’t help but have those thoughts. I know it’s not like that anymore,” Namjoo said, “but I’m willing to give it a try. I want to see if I’m right about myself or if this has been a mistake since the beginning.”

Joohwan stared at her with a solemn but sincere gaze. “Then go find out,” he encouraged. “Just be happy Namjoo, and know that I’m on your side.”

Chapter 32: I think i am the only one here who symphasises namjoo, i an truly understand her as well as jongin's character here. Namjoo.... wanted money but at some point, even before marriage, she fell in love w him but she kept pushing him back. We should try to understand her feelings too. A girl who has begged her mother, the person she loved the most, has abandoned her at the age of ten w nothing but a younger brother to look after, it is pretty understandable how badly she was left scarred. it was namjoo, a little girl against the world. however, her being the way she is had made ber incapable of the feelings jongin had felt. which is, in fact, sadder to know.

Chapter 37: I don't get it..this story looks like jongin is all at fault. Everyone hated him to the bones but he is the one who's badly hurt and been lied to all along. So I don't get why it turns out that he is the bad guy here and the one that needs to apologize.. But anyway, this is a good story, I'm enjoying reading it
